I was fortunate to win a gift certificate for a bunch of years, and when I didn't win, I'd still treat myself to a massage around my birthday or after a stressful event. I always had a wonderful experience. Over the years, I had been gifted or had just tried other massages at other local spas; none had compared to my experience at European Body Concepts. Recently, I was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. For over a year, I lived with lymph node pain (pretty much 24/7) and fatigue. I had heard about lymphatic drainage massage, so I decided to give it a try as a birthday gift to myself. It's been a game changer. They recommended a half-hour massage twice a week for six weeks. I couldn't fit that into my schedule but did an hour massage once a week for six weeks. After the second week, my pain was GONE, except if I was fighting a cold or dealing with a lot of stress. Now I'm on a once-a-month schedule. The pain creeps back in between appointments, but there is a time and cost factor, so I'm happy to have the relief when I can get it. In my opinion and experience, these people know what they're doing!

Vichy $210 for 50 minutes: the room was not prepared, and it was cold. The water was not running. It took 10 minutes for the water to be warm enough to start the treatment while we were both lying naked on a cold bed. My partner and I were burned from super hot water because the massage technician was trying the temperature on us. Both massage technicians were trying to figure out the water temperature problem without acknowledging our naked presence. One of the techs pushed both of our beds harshly with us lying on top of them to get to the source of the water. After some time, finally, the treatment began. We were scrubbed with salts for about 10 minutes and splashed on the faces. My massage lady constantly leaned on my wobbly bed, making it even more wobbly when moving around. It was a pretty funny situation, but not enjoyable and very brief. Body massage: we were taken into a room with two massage beds. One of the Massage technicians said out loud: "I hope that they have prepared the room and the bed is ready and warm." The beds were cold. We were left waiting for 15 minutes. When the massage technicians walked in, one of them said: "we only have 45 minutes, so we cannot massage your entire body. We need to choose only one part. What would you like?" I thought it was quite an odd statement, but we both asked for a lower back massage. Both technicians sat on the stool behind us and spent at least 30 minutes scrubbing and scratching our heads and ears. It was uncomfortable and painful (my hair were wet and tight and she was pulling them trying to massage my scalp). Later on, my partner and I told each other that we both wanted to stand up and walk away after the first 5 minutes, but we didn't, hoping that the other person had a better experience. It was honestly the worst massage I have ever had. At the end of this horror movie and I went to pay, and I mentioned to the receptionist that Vichy's experience was very brief, and it was not 50 minutes as it stated on the website. I was told by my massage technician, that the person who built the website made a mistake because the place didn't offer a 50 Vichy minute treatment. She said that it was not their fault and they were sorry about the misunderstanding. She added that they were going to call the Web designer and change the offer on the site. I pay the entire amount and a tip. By then, I just wanted to leave. Later, somebody from the place called me and left a message acknowledging that they indeed have a 50 minutes Vichy experience for couples, but that the person who took our appointment made a mistake and booked us for only 20 minutes (if that's the case why did you charge me for 50? And why did you tell me that 50 minutes were not offered and it was a typo on the website?). The lady continued by apologizing for the confusion and stating that she was going to refund $60 the next day. They called me again the day after and I couldn't pick up the phone. I called them back around 4:30 pm and they hung up on me. I was never refunded the $60. They should be refunding the entire amount, really. It was an awful experience. This was an anniversary gift and a treat to me for my first-week vacation in 3 years. I don't care about the money honestly. It was just the disappointment of the entire experience and another reminder that we live in a world where people don't care anymore.
