This park has a wide variety of activities and plenty of room for enjoying the park. There was an aquatic center with a splash park, pool, and water slide. There were basketball and sports fields. There was a long hiking trail around the park and another that goes to the south around a farmer's field. There are several shelters with grills and a playground with a nice variety of equipment for sliding, swinging, and climbing. One of the negatives is that the park doesn't have adequate drainage along the trails, so I noticed several places where water was standing across the paved paths. I don't appreciate getting my shoes and socks wet while on a long hike and that would discourage me from using the trails unless we had a dry spell. Otherwise, the park seemed in pretty good shape with plenty of parking. Review #611

So the park itself is pretty nice. I mean first of all it's quite large. There's playgrounds, frisbee golf, open fields, woods, community center, a creek, and a long and winding perimeter paved trail. But why just three stars? Well (1) there's virtually no access to said creek, which is a shame and (2) the parts of the creek you could get clearly are dumping grounds for people that just don't care. Is that the park's fault? Maybe not but it certainly doesn't make me want to drive across town to go there.

I love this park. It's really big, has a pool w/a slide (I don't swim so I'm just tossing that info in there for YOU), lots of open green space and best of all, long great trails complete with shady areas and sun. I've been completing my daily run here on my lunch breaks and I must say the trails are a great for beginning runners. They have mile markers written on the ground so you know how much you've run (if you don't have a trusty gadget) and they mild inclines that help build your run endurance. I have no complaints about this park. The bathrooms are easy to locate, the play area isn't compromised in any way due to the large size of the park and although I'm sure there is at least one day a year (if not more) that people descend on this park and fill it up, I am hardly overwhelmed w/people. It's spacious and open and most times during the day, there are just a handful of people there doing everything from relaxing on their lunch breaks to yoga to playing soccer or, my favorite, running !!! If you are looking for a good park to visit or exercise or play it, definitely put Northwest high on your list. This is one of the best parks to be in touch with nature and all of it's sounds. Wind down your summer with a trip here, even if it's just to lay in the grass and let the sun kiss you on your forehead. Careful, don't fall asleep if you're on your lunch break !!!!

I am only a basic member, so I can't vouch for the extra features like the pool and the sauna and the other classes. I go mainly for the weightlifting equipment and the open spaces. I like how there are two fitness greens in the gym which both offer plenty of room to exercise. The variety of weightlifting equipment is also pretty good, with a lot of different machines and cable stacks. The free weights are also pretty well stocked. My favorite area is the Olympic weightlifting area, which has four platforms and six squat racks which also have platforms. This area has a lot of mirrors so it's easy to keep your form in check. I have never used any of the class spaces but they all look really well kept from what I can see. They even recently updated one of their studios for weightlifting classes! I've been going there so you know I'll be back again!

My 'riend cancelled before paying the 77 but ye ended up having to pay over a hundred dollars just to stop going. The rest of us had to pay 45 bucks. additionally, the pool has been closed for like 2 weeks straight and upon asking the staff, they are unsure when it will be back as well as unsure what is wrona with it. Sometimes the staff is friendlv and other times thev aren't On a more positive note, this gym has gooc equipment like a nice pendulum squat (besides the rotting pad on the preacher curl machine), sn't really busy before noon, and the lube guy goes around often to make sure the machines are beina maintained well. Even that beina said t's not rare for the leg extension or chest fly nachine to be down for repair, leaving only one of those very popular machines open for 5C people to use :. Overall, good gym choice if you split it with someone else or are planning to stav for a lona time, otherwise it iust isn't worth the money Side note, the lighting isn't great for posing anywhere if you care about that

The Cross fit area is perfect and has allowed us to do so much more with our workout. LA Fitness has about everything you need, basketball court, dry heat sauna, hot tub, pools, studios and other side courts. Only thing I would add is an outdoor tennis court behind the place and a track going around it for running. I don't like doing cardio much in the inside. When I do Cardio in the inside, (winter) the upstairs is great! Love the overall layout of this place. What I expect in a gym! I was glad to find plaques describing the Holliday family. John Holliday was a journalist who founded the Indianapolis News. The property of the Park was the country home for his family. Holliday donated the property to the City of Indianapolis to serve as a Park. The "Ruins" on the property were formally the entrance facade to the St Paul Building in New York City. Indy Artist, Elmer Taflinger, won the facade when the building was demolished in the 1950's. Taflinger designed the exquisite monument that now stands as a focal point in Holliday Park. The monument includes a water feature that kid's (and I) were playing during my visit. The surrounding garden and fountain are beautiful and provide a magnificent backdrop for photos. The Nature Center in the Park is currently housing summer programs for kids. There are two classrooms and an auditorium. A bird watching room and library are relaxing spaces to enjoy. A nature area on the other side of the building offers interactive activities for children. Trail 3 starts from the Nature Center and meanders through a lovely rock garden filled with perennials in bloom and trees. The trail is a perfect spot to watch birds. The playground is sprawling with multiple climbing features and slides. Shaded benches and lots of mature trees provide shade. The matting is cushy under the equipment to keep the kids safe. I saw a nearby pavilion with restrooms. I saw several parking lots. Signs mark where to find different venues. Bring sunscreen, water and wear bug repellent. Don't leave valuables in your cars according to signs.
