I took my own frames to this clinic to get new prescription lenses (I have and odd prescription which requires correction only really in one lens, and balance in the left for appearances). They sent them off to the manufacturer the first time and they came back completely wrong. the les I needed had basically been made with one giant reading lens with a bifocal reading lens. and the lens I needed for balance had been made to the specs I needed in my proper lens. They seemed to think I didn't understand my prescription at first to which I was amazed as I know what I need for my vision...as does my eye doc who wrote my prescription...They reluctantly sent my lenses back to the manufacturer to remake them...
Two weeks later I got the call saying they were back. Again, they were WRONG. I had no proper correction in my needed eye...and the balance eye this time had been made incorrectly. The staff again looked puzzled and seemed to think like I didn't understand my prescription. I went back to my eye doctor at their insistence to get my eyes checked again, and the lenses they had made me checked against the prescription (even though I knew my doc was correct and the lenses they made me were wrong for some reason).
My eye doctor confirmed the lenses they had given me were indeed totally wrong and they had mistakenly messed up the entry of my prescription in the entry in their system for twice. This time they had made a mistake in the math in their formula and the transcription thereof.
I went back to the store for a third time and explained what my doctor had found with the lenses they had made for me and my actual prescription. The man who I had been dealing with all the time and was getting a little impatient with me insistent he entered it correctly...and double checked his work...three more times insisting that he had entered it correctly...(then the other staff (one other floor staff and one of the staff Eye Doctors) checked it. The floor staff woman seemed to think at first that my lenses were made right as well, then she started looking more and more and found they had made a mistake with the prescription transcription and entered a positive where it needed to be a negative number for the lens makers to go off of to make my lenses correctly.
The Woman Eye Doctor confirmed this also very quickly by doing a very quick test with my lenses and some of her test lenses from the exam rooms in back
I expected to have glasses initially in 2 weeks, but in stead with all of their mistakes I ended up having to wait frustratedly for 6 weeks for my glasses. The gentleman I dealth with got impatient with me a little, and was a little rude when I picked the correct lenses up the third time and he never apologied for their mess up...The eye doctor and other floor staff woman were quite nice and apologetic and they admitted they were wrong and took full blame. I found them to be quite good, but the gentleman was quite difficult and rude overall.
Would I go back there? Yes, but only because they offered me a very good discount on lenses the next time I need them. IT was the Woman Eye doc, and not even the guy again that offered this or made mention of the mistake and she was quite good.
They are new owners/operators of this shop/clinic...Given that they are new you'd think that they'd bend over backwards to make sure messed up orders get treated well. I wold say they didn't and that is why I'm posting this. read more
