My experience with RU has been totally different. I have felt welcome there since I stepped foot into the admissions office. You need to realize that Roosevelt is NOT a top school but is reputable. I came in with that knowledge. For the most part, my professors were great. In fact, I felt that they were more engaged with the students and more passionate abut their subjects than my undergrad professors (a large Chicago-area state school). The curriculum was consistent, but I did have a couple rogue professors. Did it get the job done? Yes. Did I learn something? Yes. MBA programs should not be entered lightly, but I would recommend RU for a working professional looking for a reasonably priced program. Class times were mostly at night and there were Saturday options as well.

I had to drive around the entire building to find the entrance that I was supposed to enter through. Once inside I found the hallways to be very cramped. The classrooms all had chalkboards, which I haven't seen in at least 15 years. The bathrooms have not been updated in a long time, 30 years if I had to guess. There were some sound problems with a presentation but the sound engineer was there to fix the issue. There were some nice lounge areas to rest and recharge between sessions on a long day. I cannot recommend Roosevelt University to as a facility to attend conferences at.

It's far off from the main Harper campus which for me was a definite plus. That means parking right outside your classroom and you never have to worry about going up & down aisles to find parking. There is always parking at HPC! HPC has a nice computer lab you have full access to including printing, plus a resource in the lab if you need help with anything. Actually the HPC is full of resources there to help with anything an adult learner could need. It's actually a great facility completely geared to the post bachelor degree adult age learners which is nice. My personal opinion is when you're of that age you do well in classes you take because you truly are committed to the learning aspect in your courses as opposed to just getting by, & retaining information for tests. If you need to take some Harper courses and ever see them offered at HPC, I highly recommend opting to take them here. Great staff, location and minimal issues as opposed to the main campus.

The nursing classes are offered by Chamberlain, the non-nursing classes are offered by DeVry. In both cases, the content was appropriate and challenging, yet not hard to manage. I originally graduated with an ADN 27 years ago from a state university. There was no problem getting my transcripts. I received numerous phone calls from advisors and was offered guidance for my path to the BSN. I have, and will continue to recommend the RN-BSN program to others. I am not saying that those who've written poor reviews are being dishonest, however, I believe that their's was the exception, not the standard. I am saddened that their FNP program is not accepted by NYS, or I'd be taking that as well.

They were not submitting my required documents to my practicum site. The practicum site was going to cancel my rotation. I had to make several phone calls to get them to fix everything. Fast forward, I was enrolled two weeks late into my last 8 week course at this school. I was behind in my clinical hours and I struggled to finish everything. At graduation, I still had a 3.9 GPA and was not recognized for high distinction in front of my guests, however it states this on my degree. The financial aid department is a hot mess as well. I'm attempting to complete the FNP, and they are not applying my government aid correctly. They are applying reimbursement amounts to future courses that do not start for 3 more weeks. I have been receiving reimbursement checks for over two years now and the amount of my aid has not changed on my FAFSA. I am unable to purchase books or supplies for my courses. Several phone calls have been completed, emails sent and now I am just being ignored after being told that my reimbursement check was incorrectly applied to future courses. Markie, Finanical aid representative will just ghost you for days, weeks because she cannot figure anything out. The admissions department will ghost you as well after signing you up for the nursing programs. I'm not sure if these departments are under staffed but this college charges $740 PER CREDIT HOUR and this is how they treat their students. There is no management in which I can speak to. I have tried and have been denied several attempts to escalate this situation to a manager in financial aid. I have had to resort to filing a formal complaint with FAFSA for improper posting of government funds, not abiding by federal government disbursement to students, and denying communication efforts to fix this problem.

Home Alone Online: There should be more incentive to come into the building as opposed to online: Online courses should only be a last resort. When people are here, they communicate more and form bonds; it makes them want to stay enrolled, it also gives them an incentive to graduate. Online is great if you live far away from campus but if you can be here you should be here because it is awesome. Discussion Post: No one likes them, they are a chore as opposed to an assignment, they really do nothing for you. Want students and instructors to communicate together in topics that revolve around the class? Then require every class to have a group project. Students group up, they talk to each other and give each other tasks. If your listening Corporate, here is a challenge - find 1 person that loves the discussion posts. Moving to Virtual and Less Hands-on: I find it EXTREMELY concerning that DeVry might push their classes in which students build PCs and Set up routers, switches, etc. in a computer simulated program as opposed to actually building it physically in real life. I do not think it takes a genius to know and understand that Employers would probably choose someone who actually touched and work with the components physically over someone who has done it through software.

I had various former students, who graduated in the 1980s & 1990s who told me they could not get employment after graduating in their field of study and had to change careers / get additional training elsewhere. I learned these issues after graduation. The education in engineering is WORTHLESS because they are not ABET accredited school. In other words, employers ONLY HIRE ABET ACCREDITED GRADUATES. The problem was employment after graduation & student loan policies. I finished a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, BS Computer Engineering Technology in 2014. ADTalem Global Education, dba DeVry University, utilizes The Higher Learning Commission.org to procure student loans. DeVry would max out the student's credit for student loans. The tuition cost is based on their ability to get funding. In the first 2 years as a student, I was a cash paying student. I applied for student loans then dropped out. Unknown to me, they were able to get student loans. Instead of returning the unused funds, they increased my tuition / education costs for previous classes that were paid in full. Accounting education fraud. Their billing is so confusing because they are committing fraud. They sell fake health insurance policies. BEWARE
