Bought a Gaggia Velasca machine last year from them. Love it. Went in for a service issue today & Antonio resolved things in a matter of minutes. He even helped me with our family's old Alessi Cafeteria. Again, in minutes. It's obvious that Antonio likes good coffee machines. There is no substitute for 40 years experience. This is the place to go. read more

Northwest Kitchenware & Gifts - Thanks Antonio! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Vaughan, Ontario

I recently purchased a La Pavoni Esperto Competente and had the best experience at Northwest Kitchenware and Gifts. I don't drive and was unable to get to the store, but the owner spent a lot of time consulting with me on the phone, talking about the differences in models, the overall functionality and some history on the machine. I felt fully informed to make my purchase, as I was having trouble deciding between two machines. When I made my decision, he gave me a great deal on it. Additionally, he kindly delivered it to me (together with a bag of beans, on the house) after completing a full inspection. It's just the most gorgeous piece of machinery and one I was unable to find anywhere else. It can be a bit off putting making a large/expensive purchase virtually, but my interactions with Tony were as good as the in-person experience and I felt trust and confidence in the purchase. read more

Grazie e buona Giornata :) Bruno read more

We love our expresso machine, we use it everyday. When it started to leak I was dreading taking it in for service for many reasons, what was I going to do without my machine while it was getting serviced, will it be too expensive to fix. We were pleasantly surprised, was very reasonable price, which included service and parts and the machine was only gone for an hour. I recommend Northwest Kitchen ware. Thank you, read more

I recently purchased a Caffitaly espresso machine SO4. Since they did not have one with black faceplate I settled for one from display. When I asked for a floor model display I was advised that the machine was never used, so no discount could be applied. Today I returned the machine as I thought it was malfunctioning. It was not, but I decided to take a deal on SO3 that comes for free if you purchase capsules for $300.00. Overall the service is great, staff is very pleasant, and knowledgeable. I would advise anyone to buy anything there. read more

Owner complains a lot about many things. Even if prices are a a little better, not worth it because service not great... Plus the "complaining". read more

Had my Jura espresso machine repaired here, service estimates are not accurate and "what's another few bucks" is the attitude. I also ordered some parts months ago, called to ask about them, was sternly told don't call us we will call you and never heard back. While there they were attentive when I wanted to purchase a new machine, I won't be buying from here as I know what to expect thereafter. Overall sales was helpful and knowledgeable but service is poor. read more

I brought my Europicola manual espresso machine in for general maintenance and repair of one issue - and came away with two more problems. Have had too many unpleasant experiences with the owners (i.e. they wouldn't take back a large appliance 2 days after purchase without a $250 restocking fee) and the service is dodgy at best. read more

Purchased a espresso machine and waffle maker, great service and products. Fixed my expresso maker quickly and for free. Great place.

Took an espresso machine in that was under warranty in for repair. Waited nearly 30 days, then called to see what the hold up was and was told my machine was ready two days ago. Left two phone numbers with them and they did not make an attempt to contact me at either number. Store owner seemed to be upset at the fact that there was no cost for my repair. I will not purchase anything else from this vendor and would definitely not recommend purchasing or taking any espresso machine in need of repair to this vendor. read more

Recently took my Gaggia Platinum Swing Espresso machine in for repair. It is roughly eight years old and had started to give an error message saying that more beans were needed when it actually was full. My husband looked online and found a great youtube video showing how to clean out the grinder etc. He did that but it still was reading the same error. I looked online because there are not many repair places for this type of appliance. The reviews for Northwest Kitchenware were mostly good so I went in. I dealt with Steve and he seemed quite knowledgeable. I explained about the problem but he seemed to not really hear me but said everything could be fixed if the power switch was changed. He also said that if the price was over $500 then they would call me before continuing. It took a week and a half to be "fixed". After bringing it home and plugging it in I noticed that the motorized tray no longer worked. I thought well, if the rest of the machine works then that's fine. The machine after one espresso started giving the same error message. I was so disappointed because it had cost me $250 and 2 trips to Woodbridge for absolutely nothing and now the tray was broken as well. I went back into the store the following week lugging my machine. I hoped that maybe they just didn't understand my issue and replaced the power button and cleaned it without looking at the grinding sensor. I dealt with Antonio. Right from the beginning he was "aggressively" helpful. He said "that it had nothing to do with the sensor, it was an old machine and I couldn't expect it to work forever". I said "that if that were the case then why would Steve have said that it could be fixed?" This went back and fourth with Antonio's repair guy coming and saying "ugh, what do you expect? It's old." After over 45 minutes of this Antonio finally said that he would give me a credit for $250 on the purchase of a new machine, but I would have to purchase it within the month. If that had been the end of the story I may not be writing this now. However, my husband took the machine apart once more to see if it was the grinder sensor and saw that a rubber gasket was now missing, the connection for the heating pad (for cups) had been broken and taped up and the top of one of the electronic boards had been not properly put back on. The machine was truly in worse condition than when I had brought it in. A final word more or less directed to Northwest Kitchenware & Gifts...that night we bought online from Costco a $3000 espresso machine. read more

Very rude. Told me that a $500 Saeco machine was "like a toy." I was in a bind for time so I bought it. The pump broke and I brought it in to get fixed the day before my warranty was up and he made a snarky comment about that. Would never return. read more

Do NOT buy anything from this place!! I recently purchased a new espresso machine and burr grinder for over $1,200. After just a few days of using the grinder I noticed a crack on the plastic hopper. Upon inspection it was evident that the crack had previously been glued...in other words, my "new" grinder had been damaged before it was even sold to me. In fact, I now wonder if it was even a new machine. When I brought it back to Northwest Kitchenware, they assumed absolutely NO responsibility. They insisted that I must have broken it. They would not even acknowledge the previous sloppy repair. The result: I had to buy a new hopper replacement part for my "brand new" grinder. I was livid!! I also experienced the same attitude noted in Louis I's review (2/21/2015)...they were very accommodating when I was spending money, but as soon as I had a problem (which I'm convinced they knew about), they had no interest in assuming responsibility. It was an extremely frustrating experience. I just hope the machines will not require servicing for a long time...I will not be returning to Northwest Kitchenware again!! read more
