My wife originally found Shirley through Facebook I think. When she heard of the problem, how much…read moretime I wasted, the ruined food, and the stress it was creating for me with having no response for 9 days, she contacted Shirley through Facebook Messenger on April 13, and Shirley right away sent her repairman that evening, and he fixed it, with COVID happening. It needed a new filter. Although the serviceman was effective and courteous, he told me he doesn't speak English (I think he spoke Spanish), so it was extra stress to coordinate COVID safety measures due to that and the tight space I am in, but it all worked out. Bottom line is that communication and ease of finding online and response should be much better, but am happy that things finally got resolved, especially given the tough times of COVID-19 So, I am adjusting my 1 star to 4 stars, with the following reasons: taking off the 2 stars for the lack of response and spoiled food, taking another star off for the fridge never working well to begin with, even though they came a second time to do freon after I bought it. But giving her 3 stars bonus for it being COVID and getting her serviceman to do the fix for free under her warranty, no hesitations. I take some responsibility for not being adamant about getting a third service call, in the beginning, to make it work properly, so that is adding 1 star = 4 stars. I think she should have contacted me back, even if her business was on pause, unless her phone changed (it was a generic voicemail message). I could not find any other info online, nor an email. The fridge is now working as it should, which was never the case, and went through a lot of food spoilage through those 6 months. Below is the review I posted before the problem was fixed on April 13. I bought a used apartment size fridge w/ freezer on Sept 13, 2019 from Shirley when she was at 234 Park Lawn Rd 647-228-0425, selling a whole driveway, backyard, and garage full fo used fridges. I insisted on getting a proper receipt with the 1 year warranty she offered in the sale, written in. When the delivered it, it didn't work properly. They came back several days later to put in freon. It never worked well, but in March, it became unusable, with the freezer part being barely cold enough to be used as a fridge, and the fridge part being hardly any colder than room temp. A lot of food went bad. I have been trying every day April 4 to April 13, 2020 to contact her by leaving voicemails and sending texts, and there is no answer. Yes, it is COVID restrictions, but appliance repair is an essential service and they should at least have the courtesy of returning calls and helping solve the problem.

I still have the receipt in there is a one year warranty parts and labour, I understand the pandemic but a return phone call or a response via text would be nice, that's very poor customer service because I'm gonna lose all my food and I'm not working because of this virus...

We love these guys so much...we used them recently again, for a third time and like the two…read moreprevious times, the knowledgeable technician saved us hundreds of dollars by fixing our dishwasher by not having to replace it. It's worth calling them before replacing an appliance. They will tell you if they can repair it for less than replacing. For our three appliances, we spent under 1,000 dollars versus over 3,500 dollars to replace.

We had mixed experiences with our 48" fridge and freezer repair. Our initial issue was related to…read morethe freezer not cooling and making a very loud noise when running. This took 3 visits to resolve with the first being a bit of a misdiagnosis. After that- that issue was resolved fairly easily. The second request was for fridge and freezer gasket replacement. This was (and still is) a complete disaster. The gasket has been changed, installed a second time, reordered, and reinstalled- without the issue being rectified. A heat gun was used by the tech at the initial installation to help the gasket expand. This damaged the inside of the door and the freezer compartment still isn't as it should be in terms of the gasket forming a proper seal. We were essentially told the issue with the seal had to do with "internal insulation degradation" and that there is nothing more to be done. We are left with the option to use paper towels to expand the gasket so it reaches the body of the freezer- still with no actual seal. No attempt to compensate for the time, effort, and lack of ability to fix the issue on the part of the company. The tech we dealt with is very professional, personable, and helpful, but the lack of the company's accountability for the job not being completed to a satisfactory level leaves me not so happy to recommend this company to anyone- particularly since the simpler of the 2 jobs we requested was the one that has still not been resolved. The cost of the services was also excessive given the number of times we had to have them out and the fact that it is still not repaired properly.

I had made a mistake and tried "recharging" my wool dryer balls by throwing them in the washing…read moremachine (as a few blog posts state to do!) however, whether by user error (me..) or by actual fact (like, are you not supposed to wash wool?) 4 out of 5 of our wool dryer balls completely fell apart and basically disintegrated during the wash cycle which I did not discover until i went to move the dryerballs and towels into the drying machine. Lo and behold, our washing machine did not drain and there was wool dryer ball fluff everywhere... I was panicking! I'd never broken a washing machine before! So I took to Yelp and found Ronen's company and messaged them through Request a Quote. Ronen got back to me SUPER quickly and was actually able to come the day after I reached out to them. He did tell me there was an initial diagnostic fee, but it could be credited to the repair. Ronen came during the time window that he gave me, found out what was wrong with the machine, told me what the issue was and quoted me on the spot (we had a broken drain that needed to be replaced) for about ~$415 + tax. I really needed the washer fixed, so I agreed and Ronen went ahead with the fix. All in all, for someone to have come the next day to find the problem and fix it within an hour or two while causing as minimal disruption to our family's day-to-day, I'd say Ronen's price was honest and worth it! From the time I used Request a Quote to the time Ronen walked out of our unit, the communication was clear, concise, and very helpful. Will definitely be recommending Total Care Appliance Repair to any friends in Toronto that need services!
