As for the non-beverage selection, always stellar too. ON TOP OF the hot food at the register. I live in an unusual setting, we have a whole three-story building to ourselves. There's a minit mart across the street...no hot food. This place satisfies that urge. Now for the main event: the chicken on top of the building. I call this "the chicken store" and my FRIENDS know where I mean. This IS the chicken store. I always saw that chicken as a very young child, and wanted to go there. As for employees, you know I've never seen the same worker twice. I've never had any problems, though. I just can't name a particularly outstanding person. Overall, this checks every box. I specifically remember walking from my grandparents home, which was the first house on nearby Ross Road! It was always a special trip. We would get to pick out a frozen treat from the little freezer out in front of the store, that is still there today, 55 years later!! I remember at the time, the had old wooden floors. Don't know if it still does today, I have to admit I haven't been to this little since I was probably 10 years old, but the fact that it's still there and going strong, along with the post office, definitely says that they must be doing something right! As far as the having short hours, that's because the community is just a very tiny little community, who uses it! And I don't think they "HAVE TO" have a PO Box, but can if they want to. It's just that it's nice that the small community of Carrolls, has its own Post Office to mail stuff, instead of having to GO INTO TOWN through the Kelso Post Office, which is ALWAYS BUSY! So, it actually makes it MORE convenient for people that live there, & NOT a hassle!
