When I picked up my car from Northwest Collision, I was overjoyed at its transformation. Somehow the car, which I got brand new several months ago, looked better than the day I drove it off the dealership lot. I said to John, the owner, that if I ever get into an accident he would 100 percent be the first person I call. After John, I would call my insurance and then after that I would call my mom (for emotional support). Now let's backtrack to why I came to Northwest Collision in the first place... My car was horribly vandalized while parked on the street. Whoever did it managed to key every single panel of my car's body. As I was about to take it to the auto body shop suggested by insurance, somebody instead recommended Northwest Collision. I drove it there mainly because it was closer, but boy am I relieved I did so. I'm an interior designer by profession, and from the first few minutes of meeting John I knew I was talking to a fellow creative with an eye for aesthetics and color. I never thought how important it was that the person repairing/repainting your car should have a creative frame of mind. I always just took it for granted as "mechanical" work. But through this experience, I realized how lucky I was to have had my car worked on by somebody like John who understood colors and of course cars like it was a work of art. And I know this as fact now, not because I briefly talked to John when I dropped off my car, but because John actually texted me with regular progress updates, and with photos too. It was fascinating to see my car in different stages of improvement as it was being repaired, repainted, and built back up. My Wife's Beetle impaled itself on someone's extended trailer hitch when stopping for traffic. It poked thru the radiator and A/C condenser and jacked the bumper. Somehow this is our fault even though the hitch stuck out 13 inches from the bumper...but whatever. Insurance Co. was pushing hard to take it to one of their "approved shops" but it felt kinda fishy. I've known John and NW for years as he did some custom work on my Datsun so I called his cell and he answered on the first ring and asked how "I was doin ?" Told him my situation and he said bring it over. After back and forth with insurance, they agreed and towed it to NW Auto. John handled everything perfectly and the Beetle is perfect, ahead of schedule. Its great to deal with a real company instead of some Private Equity conglomerate. John gave great, frequent updates, explained everything and did great work. I can tell it was ever in a crash! Do yourself a favor and just go there. Honda of Noho recommended this place to me and I don't plan on using anyone for paint or bodywork again. There are probably cheaper or faster places, but their prices are fair and I was 100% satisfied with the finished work. I went there a little over a year ago. Had a golf ball sized dent in my Triumph motorcycle tank, right where 3 different colors meet. They fixed that, including the pin striping, and repaired/re-painted my rear cowl for $450. Go check out the other cars in their lot and you'll know you're in good hands. The tank still looks brand new. People can't believe its a 14 year old bike. read more

Went in on a Tuesday with a hood scoop for paint on my Subaru. Jack I think his name was, very friendly. Brought painter out, he took the paint code from my car to match the paint to the scoop. Quote me $145. They said it'd be done by end of week, early following week at the latest. Fast forward 3 weeks.... I call once a week to check status and they tell me they've been busy and will get to it the following week. Each week it's the same line. Finally I said forget it I'll come and pick it up. When I get there painter apologizes, says he's been working late every night and hasn't had time to get to it and he can do it the following week. I say no thanks. Took my scoop to another shop which quoted me $85 and a turn around of 2 days. 1 star due to frustration of having my time wasted. 2 star rating because though they wasted my time they were very friendly, for all the good that does, at least they weren't jerks about it. read more

I was referred to several shops in town after my accident, but Mustang Etc. referred me to Northwest Paint & Body and said if you have a classic this is the shop to go to. Jack knows classic cars very well, and takes the time to do REAL metal work. Re-building a wrecked classic is a lot more involved than newer cars and Jack and his crew took very good care of my car and myself as a customer. Very stand up guy, always kept me updated on the progress of the car. Jack guarantees his work and will go out of his way to make sure you're pleased.
