I chose this Hospital because of my location but after my experience with the level of care and…read moreSecurity there.. any other hospital in that area will do! On the night of 3/5/2026 and morning of 3/6/2026 I went into the emergency room with shortens of breathe due to being diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure in 1/1/2026 and forgot my meds in Ga. The level of care was terrible ,not great, i was discharged so quickly and told by security to leave as i waited for my ride , it was 1:30 am and I could not understand how a hospital has could treat patients in this way. NEVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!! WIlle Lynch Syndrome is ALIVE and WELL here!!!!

It has taken me almost 3 years to write this review. If I could give no star, I would. My feeling…read moreabout Baptist is that this hospital help facilitate in expediting the death of my mother (in conjunction with UMMC). My mother was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and though with that diagnosis, that is not what she actually died from. To this day, I'm not sure, nor the doctors, the cause of death. Her death certificate is a speculation. She showed signs of a UTI as she would develop them periodically. I called her doctor (Dr. Sanders, whom I really liked) to test her for a UTI. After being tested, I was told that she indeed had an UTI but later was told that she did not. I asked several times if they were sure because she was displaying symptoms. A week after that, she had a throwing up spell. My mother had awaken in the middle of the night the next night and she was despondent. Called an ambulance, admitted her in emergency at Baptist. They badly bruised her arm up trying to draw blood. They finally got someone in who was supposed to be able to do so but whatever he did, caused further pain and her arm to swell up. It was discovered she had an infection due to a blockage. She was taken to have a procedure to relieve the blockage. The nurse that took her up and the doctor that performed the procedure were very kind and comforting. The nurse that took my mother for the procedure brought my mother back much sooner than stated but his demeanor was totally different. He was not the friendly comforting nurse we encountered initially and after he dropped her off, he left without a word. A team of nurses came in to transfer my mother to her bed, they asked us to step outside the room (odd) and several nurse came in rushing in and they closed the door in our faces (odd again). I asked why the door was closed like that. I was given some excuses that clearly didn't add up. After the procedure, my mother was not waking up and 3 days later, my mother still hadn't awaken. Baptist was supposed to do an MRI to see what might be going on but for some reason, they never took her to do so and I asked and everyone was like Dumb and Dumber around there. We had been spending the night with her but went home one night and got a call the next morning that things weren't looking good. We rushed down and was with her as she took her last breath. After the shock, I had huge issues obtaining my mother's medical records and I was given hell and no cooperation. I was given road blocks, excuses, different stories, different dates to come back, and straight lies as to why I was not able to obtain her medical records. And for the alleged policies stated, no one could show me in writing such policies. That experience reeked of covering up something! It was like they were delaying so the hospital had time to cover their tracks. This in conjunction with the MyChart being disabled within minutes of her death really was unsettling. Fast forward, I finally got record after keeping up a fuss. It took quite a bit even though I was her caregiver for 2 years and I was with her at every appointment, signed occasionally on her behalf. It was very painful to do but I thumbed through her records at the time to the last procedure and noted she was given Fentanyl as her anesthesia...FENTANYL!. While this may be a customary anesthesia, why on earth would Baptist give a 92 year old who was weak, ill, frail with an infection FENTANYL?!!! So I'm convinced my mother could never wake up due to the Fentanyl in her condition. Side note: prior to all of this, Baptist emergency's negligence caused my mother to fall and injure her head! The photos below shows how vibrant she was at 90 and then her decline after Baptist (and UMMC) got a hold of her. Be an advocate for your love ones, these hospitals have the propensity to lie, cover up and kill their patients...especially the elderly!

The person who took my paper lab order didn't seem to understand that someone was paying for it and that the name of who gets the results is on the actual paper lab order I handed her.Of course that may be because she didn't read beyond what tests were being asked for. She wanted my PCP's name. Repeatedly. Nope. Not relevant. Who ordered it and who is paying for it is on the actual order she had in her hand. Reading it might have been useful. I finally forced her to do so when I kept repeating what she needed was on there and refused to give her the information and my insurance that she wanted, again repeating several times the information is on the lab work that she needs. She also is not good at drawing blood. Using the vein that gets used the most and no one else has had trouble she couldn't find it and was sliding the needle back and forth and up and down under my arm. Got a big bruise there. Then when she used the one used the second most she poked through the other side, I watched her pull the needle back out until the blood flowed. Big bruise there. I almost never get bruises from blood draws. Clearly she is incompetent. All around total incompetence from the check in to the blood draw. I will never use that site again.
