I visited Primary Care in Sugar Hill (Southeast Medical Group) for the first time. Dr. Alana…read moreVillada is highly professional and empathetic. The office staff seems committed to offering the best customer experience. I can tell they succeed at that. No issue with them. My concern relates to time spent as a new patient. I spent 25' max. with Dr. Alana Villada. I spent 25' in a direct personal exchange between me, the patient, and the said Dr. I received a bill of $308.10. I checked with my insurance. I was billed under code 99204 (New patient office visit, 45-59 minutes). I reached out to the billing team and they sent me back to the office manager. The office manager stated that any work conducted by the Physician via the portal (like uploading and posting a comment about a lab result) can be minutes aggregated to the initial visit face-to-face. I am in disagreement since I interacted with the doctor only 25'. Any work done after the face-to-face visit culminated (asynchronously, not demanding a patient's response or physical examination, online, etc.) cannot be considered an in-person visit with a licensed professional or be billed under the same care or service provided. Please, see my invoice.

I wasn't even given an answer or a heads up that a question about my physical health during a physical exam would be billed separately I wasn't even looked in the eye when she said she would order additional labs to make sure it wasn't an autoimmune disorder. 30 seconds for a question I wasn't aware didn't fall within the category of my annual exam and $140 later I'm still wondering how health professionals have gone this far downhill. They don't care about our well being, they only care about how many charges they can unknowingly bill us for until we've had enough.

I looked online on both Yelp and the clinic website and this location is listed as open until 9pm and available for walkins. It was 7 pm when I looked this up, so I felt I had plenty of time and wasn't going to be one of those butthole customers that show up 5 minutes before closing. We drove 20 minutes in the opposite direction of the er only to see a tiny piece of paper on the door saying "we are closed" another saying "X-ray broken" and another saying "at full capacity" (even though they were closed and there wasn't a car in sight.) It's 2023. Update your website with your hours. There's even an option to indicate it's temporary so patients don't get confused. Don't put "accepts walk ins" in your business plan if you can't take new customers - as indicated by one of many pieces of paper on your glass door. While this thankfully was not an emergency, I indicate that it's 20 minutes in the opposite direction of the er only to illustrate how frustrating it is to drive 40 minutes round trip for nothing. When an up to date online presence would tell any stressed, overwhelmed parent they should just head straight to the er and that 40 minutes could be put toward the long er wait times. I finish this post with a question. If this office can not figure out something as simple as the internet, are they really reliable enough to help you in an urgent situation with your children?

Dr Sesay was super personable, he has a gentle touch and had great bedside manners. My 20 month old was assessed and diagnosed in minutes. We were there for about an hour which was amazing compared to other urgent care visits. We weren't treated like we were just another number. This place will definitely be our go to urgent care center.

She asked several times if others have failed to make her feel better, however it's never been an issue. After failing 4 times and becoming stimulated, I requested to allow an office who is capable of completing the insertion. Watching her insert the needle, she was trying to explain how she couldn't do it, while the whole time the bevel wasn't even inserted. She denied me my $140 deductible back of no work being done, followed by "you're a horrible daughter" "I'd hate to be your mom" "you're embarrassing" and many more aggressive statements because of her anger on failed attempts. She was at the desk, laughing. The Dr stood there the whole time with no concern. I left out with sore, bruised arms. I will never be back at such a place! I felt very intimidated by the ginger who walked behind me while I was trying to leave. I should've allowed the 2.5 stars on here to be my warning. No wonder why it was so empty in the lobby!

On the day of the visit, they refused to accept insurance. There was no empathy for the fact that I called them earlier, and I was told otherwise. I contacted my insurance agent, who tried to tell them that it is not ethical to refuse a patient when they have chosen to be part of the preferred network. But that was of no avail. I ended up paying the entire visit fee. I warn others to think twice before considering this clinic.
