Visited November 4th..see my receipt. I met my girlfriend here on my way out of town after being in Grass Valley. It is in Penn Valley CA. I was surprised how busy they were for after 2pm! I ordered a glass of wine and my girlfriend had a beer. We finally went Dutch and thank goodness because the small pizza she ordered had anchovies I think ( or she wanted the pizza for herself. Lol ). No thanks! I ate some of the crust and she ate the pizza..lol! Pizza was cooked really well! It's definitely a regulars hangout with friendly people inside. Also Kid friendly. They do have happy hour starting at 2pm per the sign. Plenty of inside seating in the restaurant and bar area. Next time I am in the area I will get a pepperoni pizza! I think they do take out as well. Plenty of tvs to watch sports. Beer and wine available. Fun and relaxing atmosphere. read more

I'm give it a solid 3. Here is how I grade it. Food was ok. Exactly what was expected. Nothing spectacular but I could definitely eat it again. Our server was TERRIBLE! I never give less than 20%. NEVER! But I did this time. I gave 10%. I don't think she ever deserved that. The other waitress/server was the saving grace. A young blonde girl who took up the slack. She was sweet and prompt. After 10 years as repeat and devoted customers we are finally throwing in the towel. My favorite salad is the small Caesar salad (served in a small bowl with grilled chicken). Ordered it the other day with an extra side of dressing and my bill was $29 with tip.. Ordered the Chicken Pesto and Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches to go tonight and with no tip it was $39. Ridiculously expensive and we are done. Sandwiches at Jersey Mike's are half the cost, fresh and great service. Sorry Carlos.......over the top for us! read more

I ordered fettuccine Alfredo and it was to come with garlic bread. It actually came with were two pieces of pizza dough. The pizza dough had no flavor and was never meant to be offered as a compliment to fettuccine Alfredo. When I asked the waitress if it was pizza dough, she said it was. She said they had no bread. I really enjoy the food here and plan to keep coming back. However, some things have bothered me coming here. One time they told me they couldn't cook my burger medium rare, medium at best (I believe this would be due to the meat being past its date). Not happy that they would serve it like that. Another thing, be cautious if a server asks if you want grilled chicken instead of the rotisserie chicken in a dish. It's a $6.00 up-charge! I was not informed of this before being handed the bill. I've heard from others the owner can be a real A-hole...Experienced it this evening. One waitress working the entire restaurant since her co-worker was sick. Waited quite awhile for table service. Owner came over and asked what we would like to drink "on the house"...since we had been waiting. In addition, we ordered the cranberry harvest salad and the club salad. Cranberry salad was missing the cranberries, apple and avocado. Ended up being a lettuce salad with a few cucumbers and walnuts with a sprinkling of pinto beans. The club salad had quite a bit of egg shell mixed in. When we received the bill, the two cocktails we were told "on the house" were included in the total. Asked him to remove the cocktails from the bill...he said no. Argued to no avail...paid the bill and left. Food was just OK, service needs more bodies and the owner should help when the servers are struggling instead of watching the baseball game. Also, the owner signed up to honor a charity organazation to help build a young adult facility in Penn Valley. The "card" they promised to honor offered a two for one meal deal. The waitresses and bartenders are all excellent at this restaurant. For the third time that I've been here, a shouting match between two patrons at the bar took place while I was trying to enjoy my meal. This time, they were sitting on either side of me, and I insisted that they should stop. The Northridge's proprietor told them I was the one who needed to, in his words, "shut the f__k up." This restaurant never had failed me. I have been eating her for 6 years and my favorite things to get is the pizza or the wings there are a bunch of different flavors such as buffalo,barbecue,and ranch . The burgers are amazing to the Northridge burger is probably my to go to. The dessert is amazing my favorite is probably the New York cheesecake if you are feeling chocolatey the double chocolate cake is also really good. The service here is really great the waitresses are fast and very helpful. The cooks also do an impeccable job on the food. All of the servers are friendly to customers and all very hard workers. All of the servers try their best and want to make you feel as happy as you can. When you first walk in, you were greeted by a server and you're seated at either a booth or a table only adults are sitting at the bar if they want. If you have a little kids that wanna run around and play there is a game room for them to hang out and play and there are a bunch of variety's of games. Such as air hockey and basketball there is also a pool table but if you want to play the pool table, there's also call machines and a candy machine. read more

We hadn't been here in a VERY long time, but tonight was the night. My husband had a 12" Greek chicken pizza (took leftovers home) and I had a turkey bacon sandwich with a side salad (balsamic dressing). The pizza was decent (I liked it more than my husband did), and the sandwich was good but not super interesting. Service wise, things were more or less fine, but there were a few moments - like when our order was brought to the table in "to go" containers even though we were sitting at a table with drinks. It was fixed fairly quickly but it was just an odd moment. It's a popular neighborhood place, I get that. We will likely return, but it's really a "don't wanna cook, don't wanna spend a lot o' cash" place. Not looking for a real dining "experience" here, but it's clean and friendly. read more

This restaurant is really good I think! We've never had an issue ordering takeout and every time we do the food is ready quick and it's always well worth it! The Tri tip salad is great as well! That's my go to most of the time! We have dined in as well! I think the only complaint would be the interior needs some work; tables that are uneven and some ripped cushions. But to be honest it's a small town restaurant and we have to respect the times we live in are tough! Be kind and understand maybe the restaurant is struggling. Have eaten here occasionally for many years. Today may have been the last time. The soup was so tasteless and thick I could have eaten it with a fork, seriously, not appetizing at all. Our burger was served in record time. The meat was cold, so i expect it had been sitting for sometime. Obviously, didn't just come hot off the grill. The bun must have been right out of the bag because it wasn't warm, let alone toasted. The tomato was mostly white, not even pink. (Where do you buy such produce?) I wish I had taken a picture of it for this review. Bottom line, the food was so bad we didn't eat it. Prices have gone up, which I wouldn't mind paying, if the food was decent. 16 dollars for the combo appetizer is criminal. "Cheese curds" where frozen mozzarella sticks, tgi Friday style jalapeño poppers and zucchini but one star for the mushrooms. My grandson and I stood for sometime before I had to approach waitress. Then we were put into a corner and sat. And sat, and sat, until finally a waitress approached us, then stopped and stated she forgot her pad...... We ordered. Had to ask for water. I felt very uncomfortable even though I myself have come in several times by myself or with friends. While we were waiting for our food, an elderly couple and friend sat within "ears" length. They were unaware of my grandson and began discussing "negros". I found this to be very disgusting. When receiving our meal, our waitress acted like she didn't even want us to be there, she didn't even ask if id like another tea. The next time we saw her was when she gave us the bill. There was another waitress helping us the whole time. She was very sweet and attentive. When I got up to pay, I left a few pennies I had in bottom of my purse. YESS! The food, the service, the HUSTLE these people have to offer. My God! I mean, food and drinks, just spectacular. But the service, kindness, and camaraderie felt here was just splendid... this being 4th of July weekend when apparently there were staff no call no shows, and even with a packed house, Christy was running the place. Shawn was in the kitchen but came out to support. Then came in Ray, on her day off mind you, and totally helped turn the day around for these hard working staff here! Aleea came in shortly after. Hands down, such hard working people, and if I missed anyone that's in the back, I thank and admire your hard work dearly!!! With the support from these truly stellar workers, people were kept happy, attended to, but what was most remarkable, was despite the sh*t storm from the unfortunate decision some of their staff chose to make of not showing up, they had smiles all around and were ALL such a joy to interact with. The food was eatable but seems like warmed up frozen food. I would avoid the fish and chips for $18.50 it was 2 pieces of frozen battered fish, fries, and soaking wet slaw. The tarter sauce seemed like it was watered down. One of the weekend specials was a calzone that was stuffed with diced chicken and peppers. If you have low expectations and just need to fill your belly it's fine. They charge extra 3% to use your credit card. The pizzas served on the neighbors table looked good. I had ordered sweet potato fries, also because I had thought I remembered that they were delicious. As I think I remember they had been the regular straight, thick type. But this time they were more like pretzels in shape but not hard like pretzels. Not as delicious as the last ones. Yum! Best in Penn Valley. Good burgers, great pizza-- but the sandwiches steal the show. The prime dip? Absolutely amazing. The hot pastrami or the steak sandwich are close seconds. Other hits include the tri tip salad-- tons of meat! And my mother adores the fish and chips.
