This southern food truck is great. Be sure to follow them on Instagram to see what their hours and…read moreavailability are. You definitely need to come early if you want to get the oxtails because they sell out real quick. I got the fried catfish with Mac n cheese and dirty rice. The catfish was fried very well and the fish was very flaky and not fishy at all. The dirty rice and Mac n cheese were also good. They seem to have run out of things as time goes on so it's more of what they have left if you come later. The staff was very nice and the food can take some time to wait.

I ordered the fried catfish plate with collard greens and cornbread. The catfish was perfectly golden and crispy on the outside while staying juicy and flaky inside -- seasoned beautifully without being greasy. The collard greens were tender and flavorful without being overly salty, really seasoned perfectly and the cornbread had a great texture -- moist and warm but not overly sweet. And then some bonus surprise hush puppies that were so so good! Crunchy on the outside, soft and savory inside -- it really rounded out the meal and left me smiling. Prices are fair for the quality and portion size (my plate was $21), and the service vibe was friendly and welcoming. Their menu's stacked with everything from Big South Wings to ribs and jambalaya, and I'm already thinking about what to try next. Follow them on Instagram @bigsouthslc to see where they're going to be next. If you're craving serious Southern comfort food, Big South is a must. One of the best food trucks I've hit in a while -- no question.

This the one! Take…read moreme back to the mid 90's after a little league football game against our arch rivals West. We're up at Sunnyside Park on 800 S and all the way up on the Eastside. It's hot as hell cuz it's late August early September and those orange slices and Gatorade ain't cuttin it man I need some cold like ice cold. So I got a churro. I ain't ever seen one of these let alone had or tasted one but the homie said it was bomb so I said what the heck. I got one and it was bomb! I ain't gonna go into the specifics of what I was feeling cuz I copped two more, one for me and one for me later. But yeah that's what this place did to me. Transported me back in time. I love it! They got Nutella, strawberry, guava and some other flavors also with some ice cream if you're feeling dangerous. And I feel safe being dangerous here. If that makes sense Nice and warm also with the service too cuz if you'd like they can walk em up to your car window. Oh yeah and cuz it's a food truck but also like a drive thru slash car hop. It's dope. We've been going on Sunday's cuz we gotta keep it holy for the memory Peace!

The staff was incredibly friendly and service was very quick. The pricing was very reasonable. Certainly not overpriced like most gourmet churro places. The churro was very good, however not anything absolutely mind blowing. But overall I was very satisfied with my purchase.

No, you probably do not know what a Sonoran Dog is. So no, you don't know if this is authentic or…read morenot. I'm from Tucson. I tried almost every Sonoran Dog offering--restaurant, food truck--in Tucson. Seriously. And have Yelp reviewed and rated them all. Folks, this is the real deal. So what makes a Sonoran Dog? First, the hot dog. bacon wrapped, with the right sized pinto beans, and diced tomatoes and onions. Next, mayo, guac sauce, and sometimes mustard, depending on the vendor. Often served with a grilled pepper. So far, so good. But if you don't have this final ingredient, IT IS NOT A SONORAN DOG! And that is.... ....THE BUN! Sonoran dogs are only Sonoran Dogs if it has the right bun. These are the right buns. Well...I'll say it is 99% the real buns. He gets them shipped in from Phoenix, I believe. Phoenix does not have the best Sonoran Dogs. In Tucson (the first North American city to be named a "Gastronomic Capitol of the World" by UNESCO) *all* Sonoran Dog vendors get their buns from Alejandro's Bakery. Period. *All* of them. And they are a special bun. Long, in which the hot dog actually fits, tapered at each end, fluffy, and ever so slightly sweet. Half of the enjoyment of eating a Sonoran Dog is the bun. And often you end up with a bite or two with no more dawg and it is a pleasure to eat that left-over bun with still a few of the other ingredients in it. With Chipilon style of Sonoran Dog (from a certain Mexico province of the same/similar name?) the bun is toasted on the grill on both sides and there is cheese at the bottom of the bun, which is melted. This is how he serves them. And the toasted bun is the best way to have a Sonoran Dog in my opinion. So I say his buns (from Phoenix) are 99% real because these buns have one end sort of sliced off. But that does not detract from the experience of eating these fine dawgs. The only drawback for me is that these dawgs cost $8.50. But hey, we're in Utah, and he has to import the buns, so that's an extra cost. In Tucson, anyone would balk if the dawg cost more than $3.50. But for me, this is the only game in town. And it's a good one. And he serves his with Duros de harinas (Mexican wagon wheel chips). And tonight I tried a combo that comes with any version of dawg he does plus a "mini quesadilla," which wasn't so "mini" as he stuffs it with a generous amount of cheese and you get three triangles. He's in the Latinos Furniture parking lot on Redwood in West Jordan. In case you use Apple Maps, until they accept the correction I sent them, it is on the east side of Redwood: 7659 S Redwood Rd. His weekly location (if different than Latinos) is on his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/nanassonoranhotdogs. Even my wife, who doesn't like hot dogs, like Sonoran Dogs and likes these Sonoran Dogs. Check it out! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
