It used to be known as Loehmann's Plaza until Regency Centers, the owner/operator of the plaza, renovated the plaza in 2014-15. The shopping center was previously anchored by The Fresh Market, the center's biggest tenant by square-footage, but the high-end grocery store closed on July 19, 2018 (https://www.ajc.com/news/local/fresh-market-close-stores-including-metro-atlanta/PRutcZWHV2OZizMJKqPsYM/). At the time of writing this review, that big space remains vacant. As someone who lives in Midtown and works in Cobb, I haven't found much reason to come to Brighten Park. I probably average about one visit a year to this shopping center. Along with The Fresh Market, I've been to the Grub Burger Bar here a couple times (it's good: https://www.yelp.com/biz/grub-burger-bar-atlanta-3) as well as Starbucks (https://www.yelp.com/biz/starbucks-atlanta-47) and Zoes Kitchen (https://www.yelp.com/biz/zoes-kitchen-atlanta-26). As you can see, this place is filled with a bunch of chains. Examples of others here include Jersey Mike's, Moe's (this location seems popular), and Panera. So, there's not really a whole lot here, food-wise, that makes this shopping center a real draw. The more unique restaurants are EATaliano and Fortune Cookie, both of which are local. There's also Saladworks, another chain, but this is their first location in Georgia. It opened in July 2018. This isn't the first time a salad restaurant has existed in this plaza. Old-school Atlantans might remember Lettuce Souprise You, with its prominent signage on Briarcliff, situated where Grub Burger Bar stands today. I do like the facelift Regency did to modernize Brighten Park. It looks a lot better now than it did five, six years ago. The storefronts look more contemporary and attractive and the landscaping is nice. Brighten Park is one of the few shopping centers on Yelp I've seen where the business owner actually claimed the listing (blue circle with check mark) and uploaded photos. I'm surprised fellow Georgia Yelper, Lilly C (https://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=FdPioXvctMq8lhBtd_NnTg), the Queen of Shopping Center Reviews, hasn't reviewed this place yet.

The food court had about 2 - 3 restaurants open, and it was freezing cold. It looks like they have doors open with these large airvac type accordion piping blowing cold air inside. Hopefully, they will get other business & restaurants to return & make the mall more vibrant. 1 is my rating.

Lots of empty spaces and quiet hallways. About 5 retail stores and 2 food court options. A mall's food court always tells the tale when it comes to business and Northlake's court speaks of dismal awareness. This mall has quite nice planters, fountains, and glass roof. None of the stores I came to shop at were currently operational. I ended up purchasing a pretzel, a cookie, and some Oriental food. Couple of Watch repair and Jewelry stores can be considerable. Construction is on going near the back entrance of the building, so I am hopeful that this is a sign of better things to come. Northlake Mall is a shopping mall northeast of Atlanta in the Northlake community of northern DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. The mall was once owned and managed by Simon Property Group - but since February 2016 has been owned by Texas-based ATR Corinth Partners. Anchor store is Macy's. This mall is spacious, clean and well maintained. They have few shops like Macy's, JC Penney in this mall. This mall has other stores including few eateries. Marta bus to Chamblee transit station is available at walkable distance from this mall. They have a spacious parking area.

It is said to be one of the Top 10 Best Public Squares in the USA for three years in a row! I believe it too. Everytime I visit here I get the same laid back feel I always get. This square looks like a beautiful picture out of a book. There's plenty of space for kids to run around, nice shaded trees and picnic tables to enjoy a packed lunch or pick up a lunch from the quaint restaurants lined around the square. I was in the square years ago and they were filming a movie here. A lot of popular movies and shows have been filmed here throughout the years. I love that there are good quality places to eat, all in one area within walking distance and ice cream shops too. I also love how friendly strangers smile at each other and everyone is doing there own thing. Sometimes there's music playing throughout the square which makes it a double delight.

Decatur Square has made its way into plenty of magazines, movies and TV shows filmed around metro Atlanta. With its charming streets, vibrant energy, historic backdrop (like the Old Dekalb County Courthouse in the background) it's an easy pick for film crews, photographers, locals and visitors alike. The Square itself is lively and cute. I love that you can sit street side at restaurants, which gives major NYC or European cafe vibes, where sidewalk dining is where it's at! You're sure to find some of the best chef-driven restaurants in metro Atlanta. Whether you're looking for an upscale dinner, a quick bite, or coffee and people-watching, Decatur Square delivers. Also, there's plenty of local shops and usually something fun and Free happening at any given time, including outdoor concerts, movie nights in the square, art festivals, and other community events, so you'll want to check the calendar ahead of time and bring your lawn chairs. https://visitdecaturga.com/ Bonus fun fact: AJC Decatur Book Festival, one of the largest independent literary festivals in the country is hosted right here. An estimated 80,000 people converge for a celebratory weekend of literature. And, last August, Decatur Square became even more meaningful with the unveiling of a bronze statue honoring civil rights icon John Lewis. Hundreds gathered in front of the Old DeKalb County Courthouse for the ceremony, adding more impact to an already iconic space. Pro Tip: If you're into public transportation, MARTA literally drops you west of the square. Prefer to walk or bike? It's got that covered too. And for drivers: parking is usually manageable at one of the many decks or street parking. If it sounds like Decatur Square is my Fav, you're absolutely right LOL! This was my neighborhood for years (yes, I'm a little partial :-), but even objectively, whether you're a local or just passing through, Decatur Square has a perfect mix of small-town feel and intown access. I'll always have a soft spot for it and I think once you visit, hopefully you will too. Happy Exploring!
