We've struggled with our concrete sinking around our home leading to water pooling and concerns…read morethat it will eventually get in to our basement. DBS did a free appointment to look at our issue, prepared a couple concrete repair solution options at the appointment so we could decide right away, and had a great crew out to do the work for us. Overall it was great service, affordable, and I have already recommended them to friends.

I would like to preface that DBS was once a great and highly recommended contractor by our family…read moreafter our first dealings with them. They put in an egress window and a waterguard system as well as waterproofing a basement bedroom. However after the last 6 months of waiting on return calls and having to be the one facilitating the communication, i am done with them. Our basement flooded and we suspected the waterguard system might have failed in some part so after a painless experience of 2 contractors coming out to test it back in August, they found a leak and would be coming out to patch it up and put our finished closet (put in by them the fall previously) back together. 8/19 they came out to assess the 2nd time and then it wasnt until a month later they got out to actually do the patch job. Then this lead to multiple phone calls on my own accord to find out when they would be back out to put everything back together. I was told by the contractors each time they would pass along that it needs to be scheduled and multiple staff in logistics it would be scheduled only to be met with delay after delay (the contractor even texted me on 11/4 saying he wouldnt be able to make it and would work to reschedule.) jump to end of that week and no call so we scheduled for the next week 11/13 with SUPRISE!! NO ONE SHOWED UP! I called and allegedly a subcontractor needed to come out to finish the job and i would get a call back that day with more info. NOPE! Called the following week and got bounced to Serena's voicemail multiple times with no return calls until i called back 11/21 and pushed for more answers. Allegedly they needed photos for the contractor to know what materials were needed (never was told that and don't you think you could have gotten those photos when one of the other crews was out?!) I sent those photos in and now we are 4 weeks after the fact, no one is returning my calls and i'm fed up. What good is a lifetime warranty when the workers coming out to dismantle my closet only leave it in disrepair as if i havent already spent 30K with your business in the last 2 years! This has been a nightmare and as a hospice nurse i had a thought occur to me as it played out multiple times, waiting for calls back or someone to show up: i pray no one has a loved one dying on hospice and their nurse cannot make it to comfort them because they are waiting around for someone at DBS to show up and do the job they promised to do!

At first glance it just seemed a bit off, but it bothered me enough that I did some more looking at it before tossing it. My husband and I both found it weird, because it was telling us how much heat we were losing, but from the picture it looked like not only the house, but our sidewalk, the trees, our driveway- everything really. I get that it's a thermal image, so anything that's warm/hot is going to show up. However- that's why from everything I've seen thermal imaging here is generally best done in winter- really any time that you can get a big temperature difference between the interior and exterior- so seeing my plants on the porch and that everything around our house was just as warm as our house, says the image is worthless. Other than to people who look at it and just see the "energy leaks" they point out, and all it's good for to them is lightening their wallets in the short term to find out if they do in fact have energy leaks. It upsets me mostly because I'm sure this gambit works on some, because used correctly thermal imaging is a good tool for contractors. Your first clue when looking at a thermal image like this is if it looks like someone has blacked out your entire roof, which is a really easy/common place to lose heat, but in the hot summer sun I'm sure was very bright. Sending it in February and trying to pass it off as a cold weather picture it wouldn't work so well though. While I do like supporting local businesses, I'll never go here. You shouldn't have to trick people into using your company.
