A lot of small party stores up north now won't take the very cans they sold you unless they're in exactly the right kind of bag or box (and preferably hand-polished by vestal virgins). (not our typical experience of a gas station convenience store). Wandered back to the food service area, we were surprised to find a made-to order deli counter. The staff at the sandwich counter was very attentive, allowing us to taste the pepper mayo before deciding on it, AND asking if we wanted our shared sandwich cut on a diagonal or straight!!! I mean.....there are 5-star restaurants that don't have this level of service!
