Yesterday as I was writing a post telling about the Final Judgment against The State of Alaska, Dept. of Corrections for the Wrongful Death of our daughter, Kellsie, I realized that a mere blurb was inadequate to express our gratitude to Jason, Kathy and team. And to everyone who has been involved in reaching this point where we are allowed to finally share the truth about what happened to Kellsie and the truth about the atmosphere and misconduct that led to the death of our daughter and the mistreatment to other inmates. Especially those going through withdrawals while a ward of the State. Jason, you are a Pitbull! Your tenacity and compassion were evident through this entire process. I honestly believe that you took Kellie's case personal and you never wavered from our mission, which was to find truth and to be able to share that truth publicly. Even though a different Attorney may have encouraged us to take a different path to either settle early or one that could have given you a much bigger paycheck. Thank you is not enough. But, it is all I have. I am eternally grateful for the justice and redemption that you have given us and our daughter. And, I am grateful and I look forward to your presence and guidance as we continue to share Kellsie's story and work for change and reform to a system that is broken. God Bless, John Green

I know I have given good reviews before, but never have I wished there were more stars to award…read more Curtis was prompt, efficient, and awesomely informative! The last lawyer I went to charged an obscene amount of money to set up a trust when all we really needed was a VERY SIMPLE WILL!!! She didn't tell hubby and I about trusts, didn't tell us what it meant or how to use it... she didn't tell us anything. She just took our money, drew up a trust and said that's it. Neither my husband nor I remember anything being notarized or anything - just a, "We'll take care of that part later." Curtis had a couple folks come in as witnesses, had us show IDs and the whole nine yards. The best part was the INFORMATION! He gave us lots of useful information and never made us feel rushed. He was so helpful I would give him five stars for that. The fact that his price was so reasonable makes me want to award more stars!!! I was able to apply what I learned and use that knowledge in my case. I was able to take what I learned and apply it by myself. If needing an attorney you're better off with another law firm or representing yourself. This was more of a waste of time and money than anything else. Don't be afraid to pursue what you want in the courts even if it sounds beyond reach. I was able to represent myself after time and get what I wanted. Took guts and a lot of determination to say I can do it better and on my own.

SJ Lee, the lawyer is…read moreprobably the best lawyer on earth, IF you can pay her a billion dollars up front, as a retainer! Then expect to pay a LOT more! If I actually retained her for my divorce a couple years ago, I KNOW she would have "won" my case, it was simple case! My ex husband paid off his shyster lawyer to screw me over & I SWEAR he probably paid the judge too. He illegally sold our house for $710,000, he did it against court orders, without my permission, taking & hiding ALL of the money! I had all the documentation of it, as well as BOXES full of evidence of what a louse he was! I desperately needed a lawyer to help me in divorce court. But SJ Lee basically laughed me out of her office, because I couldn't retain her for something like $10,000 upfront, with the agreement that it was only going to go up from there. I begged her to help me, but since I couldn't afford her, she wouldn't. She agreed to write up 1 affidavit, & I gave her EVERY piece of info for it, (which I later learned how to write up simple affidavits myself, but at first, I didn't know how, so she did it.) She took $750 from my parents credit card as the minimum amount (3 hours worth) to write this affidavit for me. It was great! Exactly what I needed! About a year later, I received a bill for another $1700. For what? They claimed it was for "extra time" it took her to write the affidavit, (they said it took her more than 3 hours which I already paid for.) HOW it takes 3 hours to write up a 2 page affidavit, is beyond me! I supplied her with ALL of the info needed, all in writing, all she basically had to do was copy/paste it to her letterhead & add some legal mumbo jumbo to it. It in NO WAY took her 3 hours, it wasn't even worth $750, BUT then she claimed A YEAR LATER that it took her a couple more hours & that I was supposed to pay her an extra $1700 for it? I think NOT! I ignored the constant statements for 2 years. They finally dropped it. I haven't checked my credit score, but It's probably there. But I hope its not, I hope they realized how disgusting it was that they were charging me for something we did NOT agree upon! Not even close! They knew the $750 was a hardship enough, not to mention a high cost just to write an affidavit! Like I said, I learned how to do it myself, I wrote up many before my divorce court date, & did it without the need of a disgustingly expensive money monger. I HATE lawyers! HATE THEM! I ended up representing myself, because I couldn't afford ANY lawyers of any kind (though they asked for a lot less as a retainer than SJ Lee did, I still couldn't afford them, thanks to my louse of a husband, happily now an ex-husband!) Legal aid never returned my constant phone calls or emails, either. So I learned the hard way. I could write up an affidavit perfectly in 10 minutes, so I don't know what SJ Lee is talking about! She's apparently a great lawyer to have on your side, IF you're a millionaire willing to pay her dearly for her help! SO if you can afford SJ Lee, then USE HER! But ONLY if you can afford her & are willing to pay above & beyond what you originally agree upon!
