It was a cold Sunday morning when our furnace went out. We called a company (not Gene's) that we…read morehad used in the past. They came and told us it would be over $1,200 to repair. We are 74, retired, and have limited funds. We couldn't afford it, so that repairman left, and we were left in the cold. It was 14 degrees outside and we were panicking. We called Gene's. Soon after, their repairman Mathew showed up at our door. He took the furnace apart and checked many things the other "repairman" never looked at. He emptied out the Condensation Trap which had filled with water, then put it back together. It worked perfectly. No parts were needed. He charged us $155 for his service. Mathew was an angel. He is a good and honest repairman. He made the comment that he takes a lot of satisfaction in helping people do things that they can't do for themselves. The other company was a cheating company who wanted to sell us parts we didn't need. Gene's is an HONEST company. God bless them. I was stuck with a drain issue at one of my rentals in Kent on off hours and the guy I've used in the past was not responding any longer. I called Allen drain and they were friendly, responsive, and fit me in quickly. The workers that came out were knowledgeable and got the issue corrected promptly. Their pricing was way more affordable than expected (less than the independent guys I've used in the past). I'm never calling anyone else for drain problems. I've used them several times now (drain issues are inevitable with 4 units full of college renters) and been happy every time. I called them out once and it ended up not being a drain issue - they let me know what the problem was and didn't charge me for the false alarm. They also have a warranty of sorts and will come back at no charge if the drain clogs again within a certain amount of time (I believe 30 days). The customer service is outstanding.
