[TL;DR] Mr Electric was over 2 hours late, and did not reach out to me to notify that they would be late; I had to contact them to find out why they were not at my condo on time. In addition, the worker left my electric off at the condo unit for the entire weekend, and my front door unlocked too. [Details] I met with the Mr Electric representative on Wednesday; I needed an old pushmatic breaker box replaced and a main disconnect added in. The representative was professional, on time, and gregarious. He scheduled the work to start for that Friday at 8am; I agreed to meet their worker at 8am in front of the condo unit. On Thursday I confirmed the day and time with their office. The worker did not show up at 8am, and I had not heard from Mr Electric at all; I called them by 8:30 to see if there was some sort of issue and they were not aware of the scheduled start time. I informed them I was missing work in order to be present to unlock the door and that I really needed to have them tell me what time they would be present; I cannot just hang around waiting on them getting around to my project. They committed to being there by 9:30am. I returned to the condo unit by 9:30am and they once again were not present, and once again had not called me to inform that they would not be present. I had to call them in order to find this out. Their Operations Director drove to my condo within 15 minutes to apologize and to stay present to wait for their worker. I confirmed that the schedule was set by them, by their representative, that I had reached out a couple of times to confirm the start time and that I cannot keep missing work due to their missing the committed times. I also confirmed with the Operations Director, and their office dispatcher, that when the worker leaves that the electric will be on at my condo unit. They said, yes of course. I received a message from the dispatcher by 5pm that the work was completed and that the worker had left; they wanted me to pay the bill asap. I drove to the office, asked the dispatcher if everything was completed and he confirmed it had been. I drive to the condo unit and discovered that my front door was left unlocked, and that the electric to the condo unit was left disconnected. I contacted the office right away but they were already closed and they do not work over the weekend. I had to wait until Monday morning (today) to get this resolved. There was no discount or other effort to correct this experience, other than some apologies.

From the moment we began working with Paul, Lali, and the Surefire team, they were exceptional partners. Throughout the entire project, they have been professional, knowledgeable, responsive, reliable, and incredibly easy to work with. They went above and beyond what we would normally expect from an installation partner, delivering exceptional work, and also sharing their extensive knowledge of the Fort Wayne area, proactively helping us navigate challenges, and doing whatever they could to make sure our shared clients were taken care of. Communication has been excellent, timelines have been met, and the quality of their work has been outstanding. Just as importantly, our clients have had nothing but positive things to say about their experiences with Paul, Lali, and the entire Surefire installation team. It is rare to find a partner that brings this level of professionalism while also genuinely caring about the people they serve. Surefire has truly blown us away, and it has been an absolute joy working with them. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and hope to continue working together to expand equitable access to clean, affordable solar energy in the communities we serve. I cannot recommend Surefire Solar Solutions highly enough.

I would like to commend Matt Hatcher a technician with Collier's Heating and Air Conditioning who…read moreserviced my fireplace this morning. In my opinion, Matt epitomizes those rare qualities most sought in today's workforce. Collier's is fortunate to have such an employee as Matt who realizes dedication to duty, attention to detail are extremely important factors to being successful. I appreciate very much just how careful Matt was with my home. His respectful attitude and kind approach leaves one with confidence that the job will be accomplished. His working knowledge and technical abilities are to be admired. Most of all his positive can-do attitude is infectious and admirable. I would strongly recommend Matt to anyone searching for a highly trained and qualified technician.

This review is primarily about the management of Collier's. A brief history of our use of their…read moreservices: In 2021, we needed to replace our aging (ground-water) geothermal system, and we got quotations from 3 area companies. After some consideration, and noting that one of the companies was likely soon to close, we chose Collier's. They sent a 3 or 4-person crew on the day of installation. Some were a bit klutzy and dinged a steel door and breached an active water pipe, before shutting off the water. But they cleaned it up well. When I complained about the dinged door and the rather clumsy work, management sent me a gift card. OK. Since then, we had one under-warranty repair on the geothermal system, to replace a solenoid valve that failed. Collier's seems to have no basic parts in stock, so repairs took order time to get the part, then scheduling, etc., and it took a bit longer than we anticipated. Still OK. In late June, 2025, our gas water heater failed. So I called Collier's and asked them to install a new one. It was delivered and installed on June 2, 2025. All seemed OK. The price was quite steep and a round number, which seems to be a new "thing"--that is, a single (large) round-number installed price. Still sort of OK. In June 18, 2026, the water heater quit. It had a 1-year labor and 5-year parts warranty, so I called Collier's to get them to deal with the problem. Initially, the scheduler told me it might be a week before they could come out to service the water heater; but that was subsequently amended, and the service tech came on June 22. After inspection, he relit the pilot light and told me that sometimes carbon buildup on the igniter and sensor will shut the heater down. All under warranty, so no charge. OK. Two months later, on Wednesday, August 18, we noticed that the water heater had again failed to stay lit/functioning. At first, the service dispatcher told me that it might be a week before a service person could arrive. When I noted that I was disappointed that it would take that long to deal with the problem, she went to work on the issue and managed to get a service person to come the next day, August 19. That service person checked a number of things, including noting that the "sensor was tripped," checked the exhaust on the roof for normal operation, looked for dust/dirt, etc. around the burner, and basically said that no problems were found. We were not charged for this visit at the time. But the service person indicated that there might be a problem with the sensor and that it, by itself, couldn't be replaced, and that an entire new burner unit would be ordered for us, at no cost for the parts (due to the 5-year parts warranty) but that labor would be ~ $200. We OKed this. The pilot light was relit and the heater worked (for now). We were told that a time for installation would be confirmed once the parts arrived. In the last week of August (I didn't note the date), the service scheduler called to say that the parts were in but that she couldn't schedule the new burner unit's installation until, probably, after Labor Day, some 10 days or so later. We were out of town until late on September 8, and while we were gone, other people in the house lost hot water at least 3 times, having to reset the sensor and reignite the pilot light. The implication of this is that in fact the sensor was increasingly failing. (Note that none of the service people said that there was dirt or other problems that were creating a problem for the sensor.) The new burner was installed early on September 8 and the process took about 20 minutes; the bill ended up being just short of $300 for labor, which apparently included charges for evaluation on August 19 as well as the installation on September 8. No invoice was received; so I called, and an invoice was sent via email. I mailed the check promptly, and it was cashed a week later. I also sent a letter to Chuck Ault, the co-owner/service manager, and asked him to contact me at his convenience to discuss the letter that I sent with our check, since I felt that the beginning of the failure of the water heater began while it was within the 1-year warranty on everything. But I paid the bill; and I didn't contest the matter in my letter--just laid out the sequence of events. I also asked Mr. Ault to provide a time when I could come in so that we could consider a service contract on our geothermal system. I received no response at all. This, despite the fact that Collier's seriously markets their service-contract approach to maintenance of HVAC and other equipment. Then, several days ago, I got just such an email from Kevin, a co-owner, inquiring whether I was interested in a service contract. I responded, indicating that I hadn't heard back from Mr. Ault. Then, silence. There's a major management problem at Collier's. I don't trust them. And you shouldn't, either.

I called to inquire on if anyone was going to show and was told that another electrician was just finishing up a job and would be there soon. The electrician showed up about 30mins later. They started about 1:30 and were still there around 6:30 not finished. While trying to run wire from the attic they attempted to take paneling off of my wall to better get access to it. While he was on my ladder his foot slipped and cracked my paneling. My wife seen this happen. Granted he did apologize and stated if I had any issue the office would make it right by either replaceing the damaged paneling or covering the damages. They came back 2 days later and finished the install and left my area a mess. I brought the problems up with their office. The lady I spoke with stated she would get back with me after I sent pictures. The email I received basically stated that the electricians that were at my place lied. This is the email I received. ( After speaking with the electrician and our manager, it seems that he accidentally tripped over something in your hallway, which caused the panel to crack. He repaired it using silicone, and your wife said that it looked good & that you intended to replace it soon anyway. However, we understand that this is not an ideal situation, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. Regarding the dust left behind, we apologize for the oversight on our electrician's part. He did not have a vacuum in his vehicle and asked to borrow a broom and dustpan from your wife. She assured him that it was not a problem, and she would take care of it. He apologized and asked her if she was sure, and she confirmed it was. While this is not our normal protocol, we appreciate your understanding. We want to make sure that you have a positive experience with us, so please let us know how we can make it up to you. We value your feedback and want to ensure that we can rectify this situation to your satisfaction. Please feel free to contact us at shelly@3RiversElectric.net or 260.908.8700.) My wife was overseeing the installation. She seen his foot slip while he was on my ladder which is why the paneling cracked. It had nothing to do with anything on the floor. They also stated they asked my wife for a broom and dust pan to clean their mess. Also not true. Had they of asked she would have gotten one of my shop vacs. I did not want them to put it back up broken. This looks tacky. I wanted it repaired properly. So from what I'm seeing is they will come to your place at their own time, destroy your property and leave the place a mess. They stated they would make it right. I don't see it.
