They also said they would have to cut into our bathroom wall, which immediately made us nervous. Before committing to that kind of expense and disruption, we decided to get a couple of second opinions. Both plumbers we called came to the same conclusion: the repair was simply an elbow replacement under the house. Neither of them could understand why opening up the bathroom wall would be necessary. We ended up hiring one of those companies, and they had everything repaired in about an hour. The final bill came to just over $750, and the repair was completed without cutting into any walls or creating unnecessary damage. I'm glad we trusted our instincts and got other opinions. It saved us a significant amount of money and avoided a much bigger job than what was actually needed.
