Dr. Summer James is by far the best doctor I have ever had. She was the first RE I saw when moving…read moreto San Antonio. She answered every single question I had in full detail...and trust me, I had a lot, some of them where off the wall what if questions and she never once made me feel stupid or as if I was a bother to her. I never felt like a number. I was known by name when I walked in the door! Now let me start on my actual treatments. My very first appointment was a consultation, and she did a ultrasound the same day so we could get the ball rolling. We found out I had a polyp, and she scheduled me for removal. After having my first HSG and suspecting my tunes were blocked and I was crushed, she was still optimistic, she scheduled me for surgery to see if it could be unblocked. It couldn't, and although I still had one tube, she advised that IVF would be best. Stem cycle...first off let me start by saying I was 28 when starting off, Dr James started me off on the normal dosage and while responded, my response wasn't what she wanted it do be, she gradually upped my dosage. I ended up with 28 eggs, 11 of the 28 were frozen at day 5 and 1 on day 6. FET#1 while it ended in a chemical, Dr James did a perfect cycle even while dealing with her own personal crisis, she never let me or any other patients fall by the way side. Fast forward to FET # 4 Dr James thought outside of the book, she never just once said well I don't know but let's just try this. She always took the time out to specialize treatment for me. I was allergic to so many things but she never gave up. I am now 23 weeks pregnant with twins!!! I am eternally grateful to Dr Summer James! I also recommended a friend to go see Dr James after having an unsuccessful cycle with another RE, Dr James was able to do the almost impossible, and my friend delivered a beautiful baby boy in February! I would recommend Dr. James over and over and over again with no hesitation. Even through my failed cycles Dr James was there! She never pressured me into anything, she always explained everything too me, explained her reason for why she was doing it and what the benefits were. I could go on for hours about how great she is. Forever grateful!

Other than her most professional skill, I appreciate the most is her friendly attitude. I always always feel close to her, and every time I see her, it calms me down. I know she gets this. From our first appointment, she has been nothing but patient. There is no stupid question for her. You can ask as many questions as you have and she will answer them one by one in detail with patient. She never rushes you out. We love her, she is my great doctor. and I definitely recommend her to anyone who need the service.

She listens, takes her time with you, follows up, etc. My husband and I both felt extremely comfortable and at ease with her from the moment we met. Second, she's a great doctor. All our visits were informative and through, and she sent us to a specialist once when there was a potential possibility of a complication, as a precaution. Furthermore, and perhaps more importantly, is that she really cares. I know there are some doctors who push c-sections, inductions, cord banking, etc., but Dr. Mileur was all about "let's deliver a healthy baby". My delivery ended up being quite complicated - the baby was too big to come out vaginaly, but Dr. Mileur by NO means jumped to a c-section as a solution, until literally everything else was explored. She did end up performing my c-section, which was as smooth as could be, and the stiching was great - have been healing very well. My baby ended up in the NICU for a little while after birth, and she even went to visit him there (babies have a different doctor once they are born, so she literally went just to see how he was doing). She's definitely my doctor for all my future pregnancies.

Dr. Caddell delivered my baby three weeks ago via C-section. I am extremely thankful the surgery…read moreresulted in a healthy baby. However, I am disappointed in Dr. Caddell leading up to and following the surgery. I have Type 1 Diabetes and openly shared my desire to go into labor naturally (as long as my blood sugar remains controlled throughout the pregnancy). Dr. Caddell did not voice opposition to this until three weeks before she recommended we induce. She shared her recommendation was solely based on me having Type 1 Diabetes despite having exceptional blood sugar control. When I asked if my husband and I could have a few minutes to talk about the induction, Dr. Caddell pretended to look at a watch on her wrist (even though she wasn't wearing a watch) and stated that I had to make a decision right now because "These appointments are only supposed to be 15 minutes long." My husband and I decided we did not want to be rushed into making a decision (since it was not a medical emergency) and we left the appointment without giving her a decision. Eventually, we agreed to being induced and felt the impact of how unprepared she was at providing for someone with Type 1 Diabetes. My blood sugar was going low as I was going into surgery. I told the nurse and the anesthesiologist that I was going low, and they both said they would monitor my blood sugar in surgery. On the operating table, I again told the anesthesiologist I felt like my blood sugar was going low and asked for some juice or something to regulate my blood sugar. He responded that he would be monitoring my blood sugar while in surgery. After surgery my body started experiencing hypoglycemia. I was extremely dizzy, vomiting profusely, violently shaking, and on the verge of passing out. My husband and I told the nurses I needed some juice or something to raise my blood sugar, but they refused stating the number listed on my Dexcom was a few shy of what they when they would intervene. My husband tried to administer a manual glucose test (finger prick) to show the medical staff that my blood sugar was lower than what the Decxcom was reading it is common for continuous glucose monitors's readings to be off), but the medical staff told my husband he was not permitted to administer a manual glucose test. My condition continued to worsen for the next 4.5 hours. My husband, my doula, and I were pleading with the nurses to call the doctors before I went into a coma. Finally, the nurse shared she didn't want to call the anesthesiologist because "he was sleeping." Eventually, we got the anesthesiologist on the phone (4.5 hours in) and he laughed at the situation without offering any support. Dr. Caddell was made aware of the situation as well but did not offer any guidance/support of check up on me. Thankfully, my maternal fetal doctor came and ordered the nurse to provide me with an IV of basically sugar water to help raise my blood sugar. I stayed in the hospital for a total of 5 days. Dr. Caddell did not come check on me or call to check on me one time while in recovery. Even during my follow up appointment, Dr. Caddell did not take responsibility as my OBGYN. Her lack of preparedness to provide for someone with Type 1 Diabetes was even seen by me having to correct every nurse who came into the room who thought I had gestational diabetes instead of Type 1 Diabetes. During my follow-up appointment with Dr. Caddell, she did not take accountability for the situation but instead blamed my hypoglycemia symptoms on my husband saying "we were going off of the numbers your husband showed us" (again not acknowledging Dexcom readings can we off, my symptoms of hypoglycemia, refusal to allow us to verify blood sugar with a finger prick, or us voicing that I know my body and needed something to bring my blood sugar up). I have also suffered an infection on my C-section incision of which I am still trying to heal from. I am very disappointed in the hospital staff, but ultimate responsibility falls on the OBGYN, Dr. Caddell, who was in charge of my care. Summary: - Not prepared to provide for someone with Type 1 Diabetes - Rushed appointments- is more interested in keeping appointments short than being patient centered - Unwilling to check up on patients following a complication - Was not forthcoming about recommending induction regardless of blood sugar control

I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD. SPECIFICALLY DR. PATEL…read more They just want your money. They do not care about you as a person and could care less about your feelings. Long story short, I've had 3 pregnancy losses. I started bleeding at 9.5 weeks pregnant. Office wouldn't schedule me to get checked. The bleeding got worse, I made myself an appointment online. Confirmed at that appt there was no heartbeat. Had an emergency D&C at Methodist stone oak due to passing massive clots/ hemorrhaging. I get discharged, and told to call for a follow up. I call, they can't see me until 5-6 weeks post op (November 10th). They call me on Halloween saying the doc wants me to come in today. (Sure let me cancel my plans?!) I go in, they tell me I have to pay out of pocket because my insurance declined the last claim due to coordination of benefits. I'm upset, why do I pay for insurance if I can't use it?! I end up paying out of pocket ($150) JUST FOR THEM TO ONLY DO A PREGNANCY TEST. Dr. Patel comes in and I'm UPSET at this point.l and crying. It's traumatic to go to an office and see pregnant women everywhere after you just lost ANOTHER child. Then to be told I won't be seen if I don't pay private pay. The office has treated me terribly. Don't care about any concerns. Everything is on their time. Dr. Patel comes in. Doesn't introduce herself. Nothing. "Your pregnancy test is negative, I'm not worried about retained products. Are you still bleeding?" I say yes, she says okay could be a period or not. I'm not sure. I asked are we just doing a pregnancy test? No pelvic exam? I just paid $150 for a pregnancy test????????? I verbalize I'm upset at how this office has treated me. She states: "I understand but we don't allow ugly behavior in our office either." WHAT???????? What did I do that was so ugly???? Then. I get this in the mail a week later. This practice SUCKS. I will never return or recommend to anyone. I work in the medical field, and it's disheartening the way this practice has treated me.

Like other women on yelp... if I could give Dr. Abikhalid 6 stars I would too!…read more Office is clean, beautiful. Staff are nice, her appts run pretty much on time. Im a GenXer, entering perimenopause at 49yrs old. I just moved to TX fm Southern California where I had access to some of the best medical in the world HOAG, UCLA, USC medical centers. Looking back I was prob in peri around age 44-45 with heavy cycles, brainfog, back sweats, major insomnia. She was one of the ONLY MD's who actually listened, saw and heard me. Its NOT normal to "deal with our next phase female symptoms". I went for a second opinion on a hysterectomy after seeing another gyn who I felt was treating me like a paycheck vs a patient. I was also gaining weight at a rapid amt which has never happened in my entire life. Dr. Abikhaled listened to me, explained why I am indeed a candidate for a hysterectomy based on my labs, ultrasound, biopsy, symptoms. She was also transparent sharing if I didn't feel comfortable or confident with her, she had 2 other colleagues she could refer me to. THIS is the type of medicine I need for me. Dr. Abikhalid is also a very clear communicator. She is very frank while having a nice bedside manner which I appreciate. Fast forward to pre-surgery consultation, based on my case I discussed keeping my ovaries bc Im not in full meno yet and didn't want to slam into meno like some of my friends did. She agreed that was a good option for me. I had my hysterectomy, preserving my ovaries via robotic surgery. It was 90min, outpatient. She was sure to have my pain meds ordered ahead of time. I had 4 small incisions from the surgery. No bleeding. I was off oxy on day 3. Managed pain with Tylenol/motrin. 1 week out I felt pretty strong, an ab binder would have been useful for the 1st 2 weeks esp for sleeping so buy 1 ahead of time (amazon has tons). Helps for ab core support. 3 weeks I was doing short walks outside yet still got fatigued pretty easily. Got back on my hrt patch and no more brain fog, no more insomnia, no more swollen hands and ankles. 6weeks I felt strong and fatigue finally was gone. I was cleared to do light weights again. Im at 8weeks. Im back exercising. Lifting up to 30lb. Back to weight training. Feeling strong, clear headed, no more swelling in my feet/ankles, insomnia is very little and i still get "mild" back sweats around 2/3am. Nothing like pre-hysterectomy where i was sweating through my shirt. If you have peri symptoms and painful or super heavy cycles like I had that is NOT normal. See Dr. Abikahlid. She is one of the best in womens health.
