I have a few different things that I was disappointed about…read more I am disappointed that I was made to pay for a visit to discuss test results when it could've been discussed with me over the phone. Also this was a follow up "visit" from my annual. I have had this experience before and I was never asked to pay for my follow up appt and I was told "it's a part of your annual, you don't need to. It's covered." when I asked at Lone Star Medical why I needed to pay for a follow up visit, her answer at the front desk was "it's $25 :)". So I was like whatever, just get it over with. But I don't think that was fair. On regards to the provider care, I was told everything was fine -many things were, but not everything. I caught a low level for something on my bloodwork and a high one that's been alarming for me for a couple of years now and my provider just goes "it's not bad". But I do have several symptoms of something "unknown" and "undiagnosed" things that aren't normal. The wait times when I was scheduled and fasted was insane. The lab provider was amazing! 5 stars to her. In all senses. Great at her work and she deserves a raise! Also, I had recommended a friend so she could have her annual visit and we both are new patients, however, they never ever called her back to schedule hers. Of course she ended up going somewhere else. I just wish this town would have better options that take insurance and provide caring care. Not business care. My provider, however, the great things I can say is that she has an amazing personality and made me feel like home while in the office visit with her. However, communication after my appointment didn't meet my expectations.

I have been going to Lonestar Medical for over 10 years now…read more While no one really enjoys going to the doctor, Lonestar Medical makes it a breeze. I see Dr. Jay Gruhlkey and it is always a pleasant experience. You really have to appreciate his professional, yet laid back jeans and a button up shirt and cowboy boots, approach to medical care. He has never steered me wrong, and his bedside manner is outstanding. Listens to your issues, does not judge, and explores all options to treat your issues. Highly recommend him. He is hard to get in to see, but if you have time to wait, definitely try to.

0/10. I had the ultimate displeasure of having to speak with Alicia (the blonde gal who looks like…read moreshe may be pregnant, definitely hasn't slept in a while) yesterday and my, if she was the first person you have to come across, I'd never ever go to that office. However, I was there with my father and he's deaf so he has no idea what a b-word this lady is. Condescending and incredibly rude to boot. She kept telling me that someone had cancelled my dad's appointment and then tried to imply that *I* had, when I knew I had done no such thing. Then, at some point during our yell-fest, she said that they'd had to cancel the appointments for the nurse practitioner because of an emergency that came up and that they'd cancelled with the interpreter. A person who is neither me nor someone who is related to me or my father or anyone we even know. So now Alicia had given herself away - they cancelled with the interpreter but NOT the patient himself. What sense does that make?? And when I called to lodge a complaint about this woman, I was - tragically - transferred to the goon herself and she said that my complaint was "unproductive" and hung up on me. If the doctors/owners there see this complaint, y'all have my number and I'd LOVE to share more about what happened yesterday because I will be making sure everyone I know knows about your office staff and how they handle your patients (i.e. the money flowing into your office). I hope Alicia sees this too. And I hope that the office manager I was unable to speak to (she's on vacation for 2 weeks...) sees this and forces Miss Alicia to get customer service training because she is woefully lacking. Zero stars, would definitely *NOT* recommend the Landa location. I will be transferring my father's care to another doctor at another location. There's no way I want that woman near my parents ever again. Hideous hideous fool that she is.

I searched for another primary care doctor and had the needed referral faxed same the day by my new primary care doctor. On medications my husband was without his diabetes medication for two days. After he'd seen Dr Yu for diabetes management. Dr Yu failed to send in his prescription refill. I called and spoke with staff on two separate days requesting refill. The nurse finally submitted the prescription but she sent the wrong medication in and on a FRIDAY. So my husband had no meds for the entire weekend. It didn't take my husband and I long to figure out after our initial visit and follow ups that this practitioner and his staff lack competency.

I was very detailed about my health history and brought my electronic records with me but they were unable to bring the flash drive up on their computer. After speaking with the doctor for about 45 minutes, he tried to prescribe some "natural" remedies for my insomnia. I again explained that I have been struggling with this for 1 1/2 years and have tried all of the natural remedies. He prescribed Ambien, which frightened me because of all of the horror stories I have heard from people that know. I advised him what my husband takes and that it works great for him with no side effects. He insisted on the Ambien. I tried 1/2 tablet the first night. No sleep and I felt awful the next day. I tried a whole tablet the following night with the same results. I called the office and reported that it is not working for me. He seemed to think that I needed a few more miserable days and nights and advised that I try it over the weekend and call him on Monday. I called them today (Monday) and he told the receptionist that he wants to have a telehealth visit tomorrow with me to talk about it. I asked if that would cost anything and she said "$90.00" I was beyond angry! I just paid for an office visit, followed your orders to try the horrible medication and it didn't work so you're going to charge me $90.00 to discuss this further???? This guy is a scam artist. Also I should mention that his receptionist, Ally, gives medical and pharmacology advice illegally. She told me that it was OK that I was getting 3-4 hours of sleep per night because that is all she gets and to keep taking the Ambien because "It will take time to get into my system."What a joke.
