I came on a Thursday when they open from 2pm to 6pm which is understandable considering where it is. The services they provide are books, magazine for hire. The use of their computers for an hour to book. They also have free wifi. Photocopiers and a fax machine. A single wide table for studying. Also leaflets on what to your local area and surrounding area. This library is actually a quiet one compared to some; which I like. I'll definitely return because my favourite coffee shop is not far. It's always a busy library but there is always help at hand when needed. There is a large childrens…read morelibrary, as well as a teenage fiction section. There is also a local history section,as well as a large amount of CDs and DVDs on offer. There is a public toilet and recently they have acquired a coffee machine, as well as a self service black and white photocopier. They have about 10 computers;3 for the use of children or adults with children, a 15minute only computer, a half an hour computer with a scanner and hour long computers. Printouts can be done very cheaply. There are often activities such as Baby Bounce and Storytime which are popular events. At times this means the library can get noisy, but the staff are careful to ensure the relaxed atmosphere of the building doesn't mean the noise is too loud. There is an exhibition area at the front of the library which is often filled with local artwork.

A lovely library!! I have been going to this library since I was a girl, and my children use it all…read morethe time. The staff are kind and helpful, definately not lazy, or over paid! As for poorly stocked, you can order books from any libray in hertsmere! We use it for personal reading material, and research for personal interest and home education projects. I would be lost without it!
