I received several forms of reminders leading up to my procedure including a personal phone call just 2 day before my schedule time so that I could ask any questions. On the day of my procedure I was running about 15 minutes late for my check-in time due to an accident on the freeway so I called North Valley Endoscopy and spoke with friendly Dee who reassured me that she would let the nurse know. I scheduled an upper endo plus colonoscopy through my GI about 3 weeks ago. The GI's office explicitly stated, and had me sign paperwork, that advised my insurance would be billed and then I would receive an invoice for payment. I show up for my procedure and they inform me of a $1000 ESTIMATED bill. I showed them the paperwork from the GI's and they said that's not them so whatever agreement I had with them is not with this office. The paperwork is outlining the procedure, not my GI's office visit. A "director" comes out to speak with me and says no if, and's, or but's, it's going to be paid right now or I'm not having the procedure. This office had almost 3 weeks to call, text or email me to explain how their payments work or that an ESTIMATED bill would be due the day of, but they chose not to. I'm expected to pay the ESTIMATED cost and then wait however long they feel for a refund if the cost is wrong?! Not in this economy.. I walked out and would never recommend this place to a family or friend. read more

On 11/13/2023 I had an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy at North Valley Colonoscopy Center in Phoenix. My Physican was Micheal Foley, and he is a very knowledgeable physician and explained my procedures to me in plain English and answered all of my questions. Doctor Foley is very friendly and is a gracious person. I was checked in at the front desk for my procedures by Itza who was so friendly and had a big smile. My nurse was Kristina, who was very nice and even though I was anxious, she put me at ease. She was so friendly and very professional. Whenever I have an IV started, I always look away and don't watch. Kristina started my IV and I didn't feel any pain or discomfort at all. Talk About SMOOTH !!! My anesthesiologist was Maria, and she was very nice and helpful. Doctor Foley's assistant was Mirsa, and she was very helpful in getting me correctly position on the bed for my procedures. Cathy was my recovery nurse, and she was very helpful and friendly. She wheeled me out to our car. The entire process from start to finish was about 2 hours and was well organized and very well done. I did a procedure on4-8-2024 I have Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO Arizona 60 days after the procedure I received a bill for($1494.00) so when I called and asked, the reply was the anesthesia was not covered under net work they did not inform me before the procedure and now I'm stuck with this bill that I don't have the money to pay. This is not right. They should have done their due diligence and make sure the anesthesia doctor or nurse was part of my network that is their responsibility, so I advise everybody not to do any procedure in north Valley Endoscopic zero star read more

This is a top-tier organization. From the front intake to the pre-op they know what they are doing! They cover the basics of the procedure with you and confirm many things with you prior to the procedure. Each person caters to your needs. Your health and comfort are their priority. They even sprinkle in a little humor to put you at ease. Finally, it's the only place in public where passing gas out loud is encouraged! Beware "physicians" with AZ Digestive Health alter your primary care physicians preventive order to diagnostic in order to bill higher fees for themselves and their affiliate North Valley Endoscopy. When you attempt to resolve this you end up in phone banks of hell each party referring you back down the chain with no resolution. They even ignored multiple contacts representative of insurer (who confirmed referral order should have been preventative) and routed reps down the same loop and refused to respond to written inquiries. Finally you just have to give up and pay in collections an vow never to use any of their services again. read more

After getting my third treatment here I received a bill from a collection agency for $600. They claim they called me 7 times which is completely un-true unless they never left a message. I certainly would have paid it. I most likely did not recognize the number and no message was left. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. I am still checking what happened with my insurance/and if a bill was received it was not clear/what was covered by insurance, etc. End of day I am a customer here 3 times and pay all of my bills on time. Now I am trying to clear this up and is a nightmare. I paid it immediately, not even knowing for sure if the insurance should have and was told it takes up to a week for JORDAN the supervisor to notify the collection agency. This is beyond rude. No messages were left for me, no notice about pending collection whatsoever. A simple call explaining that would have resulted in payment but instead they can't be bothered and prefer to impact the credit of their customers. I will not be back there . read more

If you are having a routine procedure done with an in-network provider, it does not mean ALL the services provided are considered in-network. Amsurg North Valley performed the anesthesia for a colonoscopy and this service was not covered by my insurance, my insurance was billed $1743 for the service, and it was denied because they are out of network. Even though the facility itself North Valley Endoscopy Center was in-network. North Valley Endoscopy Center should haven informed me that Amsurg North Valley was out of network either by verifying themselves since they have my insurance card or letting me know that a different entity which I was not aware of at the time was administering the anesthesia. Furthermore, Amsurg needs to do a better job and bill their patients sooner rather than wait 7 months before they send out a bill, which is way past the time I can submit an appeal with my insurance. The claim was denied by my insurance in February and Amsurg did not bill me until August. Very disappointing experience when you go in for a "routine" procedure and are hit with a $1800 bill. It would be nice to know the cost of this service if it was not submitted to insurance and direct to me. It is my understanding; it is much less than $1800 billed to the insurance which is what I was required to pay AmSurg even though the service was denied. I would not recommend North Valley Endoscopy and Amsurg. I will say that the procedure itself went very well and the entire staff were efficient, personable, professional and extremely pleasant. If it were not for the billing issue I would give a much higher rating. read more

Office is very clean. And chairs were spread out due to covid. They took me back a little early which is always nice. Rhonda was my nurse before they took me in the back for the procedure. Very kind and friendly and made nice small talk which calmed my nerves. Nick was my anesthesiologist. Very sweet, had kind eyes and made me feel comfortable. His right hand gal was also very friendly. Dr Hauptman came to recovery to make sure I was ok and explained his findings. Jill was the last nurse during recovery who so was so sweet! They don't "allow" anyone to go back with you when they first take you back. I have P.T.S.D and severe anxiety so this place isn't an option for me but since the appointment was for my S.O we decided to stay. After waiting an hour past the appointment time they run you through like cattle and the nurse that took him back had her nose so far in the air I'm not sure how she sees to get around. There's no reason to act like nurse ratchet and have absolutely 0 compassion for someone with anxiety issues. None... I will never be coming here for myself and do not recommend this place at all unless you want to be talked down to, looked at like you're scum and run through the back like livestock. read more

Overall a good experience. Check-in process is unnecessarily convoluted. There should be no "paperwork" required by the time you arrive. This is 2014. They lack the ability to do anything online. No forms download, e-record so you don't have to write the same information over & over, etc. seems very inefficient. Dr Hauptman was fine. Pre-op & post-op care was great as was CRNA care. In response to my Portal Questions regarding Gluten: I was told that I needed to keep eating Gluten because otherwise the Dr. wouldn't be able to tell from the Endoscopy if I have Celiac disease. After the procedure I asked the Dr. if he could see Celiac disease. He gave me a funny look and said that they would need to order blood work to look for that. I explained to him that his staff had advised me to keep eating gluten and that he would be able to tell from the procedure. The Dr. did not apologize for his staff lying to me and instead just said that they would order blood work. Oh thank you! So I can take more time off of work. You just had a needle in my arm. You could have taken a blood sample at that time. But the total lack of communication from the staff regarding the situation means that I have to take additional time off of work. Your staff is taking money out of my pocket. When the Dr. is made aware of the unsatisfactory service he does not apologize but instead is suddenly in a big hurry to get away from me and end the conversation. Extremely disappointing all the way around When I utilized the portal to communicate with the staff regarding a recent diverticulitis flare up: The Dr. had advised me that he wanted the endoscopy to be at least 4-6 weeks out from my last diverticulitis flair up. I had a flair up the day after my consultation. I asked the staff to ask the Dr. if my infection should push our scheduled date for the endoscopy back. They said that the Dr. said it would be fine to keep the appointment. When the Dr. walked into the Exam room for the endoscopy the first thing he asked me was "So you haven't had any flair up since I saw you last right?" This is not OK. If the staff is not taking these questions to the Dr. then why are you wasting my time having me set up and use a portal? read more

Dr Wells is awesome. Tomorrow will be my third visit at this facility and the know what they are doing. The hardest thing is the fasting/prep the day prior. And that is greatly simplified with the OTC preparations. The actual procedure is a non-event. Couldn't be happier. read more

When I arrived, I waited maybe 15 minutes. Went back to the room, and they prepped me. I have to give a shout-out to the staff!! They were all so very nice, and comforting. Ronda was my nurse, she was amazing!! She was sweet, polite, and answered all my questions. She made me feel at ease. I also was impressed with Kathy the Anesthesiologist. She also was nice, and funny. Kathy made me laugh, and I needed that. Cannot forget about Dr. Hauptman, he is an excellent Doctor, and knows his stuff. For a procedure that is not one of pleasantry, the office "end" of it went like clockwork. Everyone was caring and compassionate and knew their individual task.
