My gums were in a considerable amount of pain to the point that I could not eat breakfast because it hurt. They were fully aware that I was in pain and never ask me on a scale of one to ten. After X-ray and exam they said I need a deep cleaning. It was June ninth and they said the next available appointment was in November! I'm in pain and they want me to wait over five months and Dr. Pedersen didn't even ask if I want pain relief. read more

Big Joke! Dr Pederson pretended to check both my kids, just stuck the metal stick in their mouths for about 3 seconds and said everything is good. It's all pretend check! Its the hygenists doing the cleaning and didn't even last 5 minutes, hygenist literally just brushed my kid's teeth, which we can do at home and said all is well without using any other instrument to check for cavities and all but literally just the toothbrush. Very dishonest! Billing insurance for dental cleaning when all they did was brush teeth. read more

Came here for years and years my family also are patients here. Always had the best experience except for an insurance miscommunication incident. Made amends with them and they ended out asking me to take down a Yelp review and so I did because I felt like the issue was resolved and entirely respected them for this. However fast forward 6+ months I tried to come back and the receptionist did not forward me to a manger instead cancelled my appointment and then I receive a letter of being "fired" from a client. Super disappointed, I travel 50 miles to come to this dentist. I have always been respectful and never used any foul or disrespectful language to be fired. But I guess it's time to find a dentist closer to me ! read more

I am so thankful I found this dental office! I have struggled with my teeth for a long time and have had plenty of not great experiences with other dental offices. Not only is the staff friendly but they are always so helpful if I have any questions. I was recommended this office by a friend, and I'm so glad she told me about it. Let me start by saying that I am absolutely terrified of dentists, I had a bad experience years ago that I haven't quite been able to shake since. The ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful and courteous, I wish I could remember their names. The office didn't accept my insurance, but they walked me through getting on an Aetna savings plan, which cut my costs in half. Kathy and Dr.Youngberg were amazing. They did their best to keep me calm, which was a huge undertaking considering how scared I was to walk in to their office, and it was even worse by the time I sat in the chair. They took their time and were very attentive to my needs and sympathetic to my situation. The procedure was quick and as painless as it could be. I already booked my next appointment. Absolute worst dental experience I've had in my 31 years of life. Two visits, two TERRIBLE visits. Let me start by saying the ladies at the front desk are very nice, and this review in no way reflects on them. The first time I saw Dr. Youngberg, it was a standard appointment for a few cavities. I left there bleeding for ten mins straight and feeling like there was a foreign object wedged between my teeth, so I sat in my car and flossed for a minute to see if I could remedy it. Well, I couldn't, so I went back in to see what could be done. He tinked around for a bit and all was ok after, but he gave me a condescending vibe for even coming back in. Okay, fast forward...the above was the better of the two appointments. The second time, I left with a GAPING WOUND on my lip. He started by accidentally poking the novocaine needle into my lip on the way in to numb my mouth, so that was a fun start! Seemed like such a juvenile move. I was just miserable through the whole appointment. Dental assistant was very sweet and professional but she seemed new -- I had to keep asking if she could rinse my mouth (& use the suction to clean up the area) which I've never had to voice before at other dentists. So I'm holding my breath almost literally through this whole appointment just waiting to walk out of there for the LAST TIME, then I sit up after the procedure was over, good ol' Jeff was nowhere to be found. Not a "have a nice day" or anything. Right then I knew this fool was never touching my mouth again. I could feel my lip was torn open and it wasn't going to be good. DO NOT GO HERE, avoid Youngberg at all costs, and I mean ALL. Ps, I sat on this review for almost a year. I did not want to be THAT person but I really feel like people should know, I've never been botched like this at the dentist before. I have been with Dr. Wayne Pedersen, since before 2000. I so loved being his patient even with what took place. In March Dr. Pedersen had to replace a crown on one of my tooth and this crown kept my mouth bleeding and with infection taking place daily. I went back to see Dr. Pedersen over 12 times concerning this matter as he info me to see a Endodontist for the bleeding and infection coming from this tooth and the Endodontist recommend that he replaced the crown. I seen the Endodontist 8 times with him keep providing the same to Dr. Pedersen to replace the crown. I then went to see a Periodontist, a Gum Specialist because my gums were still bleeding and daily with infection still coming from my gum and she as well provided to Dr. Pedersen to remove the crown. I took this matter to another Dentist I had been working with, and I seen him about 9 times as he kept providing to Dr. Pedersen to remove the crown it was a bad crown. Until finally the other dentist informed me that if I let the matter go on and keep in mind, it had been from Mar to Oct that I was trying to get Dr. Pedersen to remove the crown, that I would have lost the tooth and gums infection is not Healthy. Dr. Pedersen wanted to do gum surgery and all we needed to do was to remove the new crown that was place on by him. Final the other Dentist removed the crown and replaced it with a new one and all the bleeding and infection daily stopped. Because of letting the other Dentist change out the crown, I was informed by Dr. Pedersen Lead Assistance and His front desk staff person his Wife , that Dr. Pedersen could not do any thing more for the tooth, but if I found someone to correct the matter that was ok to do so. All with keep Dr. Pedersen in the knowing of what was going on always. After having the correction done I received a Certified Letter from Dr. Pedersen office stating the following (see below) the letter. Upon asking to speak with Dr. Pedersen and with our long years together as his patient, I was told by His Assistance and His Wife "No". I feel very strongly that the Assistance and the Wife had been wanting me to leave Dr. Pedersen by things they were doing to me like, the Dr. gave me a discount but the Assistance and the Wife felt I should not receive such discount, and the assistance called me and stated, you are no different then anyone else and here is the discount I am giving you. After speaking with Dr. Pedersen he informed me that he was not aware of the change and did not approve it, as the assistance stated to me. Dr. Pedersen then had it changed back to the discount I have had for years with him. I was told by the Assistance that I could no longer see the Dr. Pedersen anymore and could only speak to his wife. Also I could still get my cleaning done with my Hygienist Naomi that I so Love and have been with her for years as well, going to see her to have my teeth cleaned was like going to a Spa. After telling the Assistance that I did not trust her words and wanted to speak with Dr. Pedersen she then called me back and told me, that now she had a change of mind and now I could no long see my Hygienist anymore since I said I did not trust her words, with not letting me speak to my Dr.. All this took place because I did what Dr. Pedersen requested that I do and had the bleeding and infected crown removed and replaced by another Dentist. I have had awesome experiences with Dr. Pedersen since before 2000 and I would not have left his practice and I had no heart feeling toward him and still trusted him and had confidence in his work. It was only this matter that we were dealing with, the bad crown that kept me bleeding daily from Mar thru Oct. Again I feel strongly that the Assistance and the Wife played a Joyful part in this matter of removing me from Dr. Pedersen practice. And still to this day I have not talked to Dr. Pedersen as I requested and those were not my feeling of losing Trust and Confidence that was his Staff words. read more

For the past 27 years my family and I have been going to North Valley Dental, and we have always been happy with the work done here, however this past week I received service above and beyond my expectations!!! After a major car accident left me missing a front tooth I immediately called my dentist before even being released from the hospital. The thought of walking around toothless completely devastated me and I wanted to make an appointment for as soon as possible. To my surprise when I called in and explained what had happened, Trisha at the front desk told me to come straight there, that they would get me in immediately!!! Once I arrive I didn't even have to wait! They took me directly back and within 45 minutes Doctor Youngberg and Kathy, his dental assistant, made sure I had a beautiful new tooth!!!! I had an amazing experience today with a clinician that I have to share. As a clinician myself our job is to take care of people and show kindness and compassion while doing it. This lady Naomi a staff at North Valley dental today embodied the true definition of professionalism, kindness and compassion. Most clinicians are skilled in their respective areas of expertise. What sets some of us apart from the rest is our bedside manners. Patients will forget what you told them, even what you did for them. But they will never forget how you made them feel. Naomi humanized my teeth cleaning experience, I don't like going to the dentist so I skip my dentist appointments, and I know I shouldn't, my point she had a lot of cleaning to do, she never made me feel bad, from the get go, she welcomed me with a warm smile, she introduced herself to me, explained what she will be doing, set up a clean area for me to set my phone down. She knew I was in the previous day for the first part of my cleaning with a different staff, she asked how I was doing, if I was still hurting, she provided comfort. She constantly checked for discomfort. Her kindness was palpable and so genuine, that my anxiety flew out the window. As she worked on me she continuously asked if I was ok, and all I was thinking was how this interaction with this lady is going to impact the way I treat my patients. Naomi I hope you see this. You are an Angel. You are a Human being. And I want to say thank you for a great experience. Who would have thought that I will refer to dentist visit as great. I have always tried to avoid going to the dentist, simply because it can be so uncomfortable and sometimes even painful. I recently discovered that I had two cavities and needed fillings. First time in over 40 years! I was so pleased with the service I received at North Valley Dental! After losing sleep the night before, I did not have to have any numbing medicine and the whole process took less than 20 minutes and was pain free! I would recommend this dental office to anyone (like me) with pain phobia, but is in need of good dental care! I am also going to stop putting off those six month cleanings! . They def. took care of me, went in with horrible gapped teeth I've been dealing with my whole life which made me self conscious about my smile. Explained my issue and they were more than happy to give me recommendations on how to fix it. They suggested whitening my teeth before anything which was an amazing idea. They kept me in the loop with the whole process. It was fairly quick considering what the procedure was. The Dr. and all the ladies there were amazing very friendly and actually had fun going to see the dentist haha. Five stars is not enough to write this place. Let me start by saying Tricia at the front desk was absolutely amazing. I explained my situation to her that I had recently lost my job and I was running out of my dental insurance at the end of the month. I had a broken tooth that needed to be pulled I was causing a lot of pain and possibly an infection I could not afford a root canal even with the dental insurance so I opted to have it pulled but I needed it done by the end of the month which is in 2 days. Between her and Stacy they work their magic and were able to get me seen that day when they had absolutely no appointments left and they were going to be closed the next day for the Labor Day weekend. they were able to get dr. Youngberg to see me I was taking back after my insurance was verified filled out a couple of forms the dental assistant was fabulous from the beginning. My x-rays done she got me in a chair the doctor came over and looked at me numb me up so we can take it out if you like give me my options and within the matter of 45 minutes or so the tooth was out my whole visit was phenomenal. I have never dealt with a more friendly absolute warm staff in my life at a dental office in this area. I am so thankful that they were able to take care of my needs they made me feel heard they made me feel welcomed and I will be a customer there's / patient for a very long long time.
