The staff is amazing as well. They offer clinics with low prices for vaccines as well as neutering/spaying services. They actually care more about taking care of the dogs than making a buck like the human society. That place used to be affordable but now it's all about making a profit. We went to an adoption event with quite a few dogs available. After walking around and talking to the volunteers, who were all fantastic, we were drawn to a small white and beige dog. We wanted an adult dog, and we found out, the young pup was 6 years old. She was initially shy, but could tell she was very sweet. We picked her and she picked us. We adopted her, and Miss Rita is the sweetest dog we have ever had living with us. The entire adoption process and care they give the dogs were fantastic. You can tell they have compassion and love with all the dogs. I would highly recommend you take a look at them for adoption of these wonderful furry friends.

The shelter itself is very nice for an animal shelter. It's welcoming with many programs besides just animal adoption. The animals have cozy places to stay while waiting for a home. There's a kitten room where we found our newest family member, catios, dogs runs with heating and AC I believe, it always seems cozy in there. They don't just have dogs, cats and bunnies, they also usually have guinea pigs, rats and other animals like one time there was a rooster. I definitely recommend this animal shelter for adoption, and or volunteering.

They claimed he had a "mass in his stomach" we were unaware of. When we asked if it was terminal, they said they didn't even test it to see what it was. We found out after he was already put down. My family is heartbroken and crying over this. That was our boy. He was out front of his home. He was put down in a pound; had none of his humans around him to comfort him. I cannot believe this happened. Looking into suing this place. Please do not go here unless you're trying to save the animals they have from facing the same fate. We'll miss you forever my Jack.

I posted a…read morewarning after concerning interactions with Soft Paws but Yelp just removed the image I had attached citing it violated their privacy rules. The image was from a public database that anyone can access and contains public information. I include the link to this PUBLIC database here. Just fill in "soft paws rescue" under organization and "CA" for state, and you will see that the nonprofit license is suspended. https://rct.doj.ca.gov/Verification/Web/Search.aspx?facility=Y Soft Paws wanted us to pay the entire adoption fee without having met the dog, and it wouldn't be refundable. I understand people don't show up to appointments, but charging the full amount is not only absurd, it shows the organization doesn't care if the dog and the adopter are not a good fit. IE the dogs welfare is not being prioritized.

Heather made a plan to gently help London understand and get accustomed to the grooming process. Heather has helped me and my family understand London, her breed, her needs, and tips tricks and hacks that make caring for her at home a breeze. Upon me sharing my concerns, she basically responded saying if we didn't show up, we would still have to pay for the apt. I made changes to my schedule and took my dog in. Heather was so condescending when I dropped off and picked up my dog. I left thinking she must just not want my business anymore. As I've read other reviews in here, apparently I'm not the only customer that she is condescending to. And, if she is like that with customers, how is she treating your pet? I'm at peace with my decision to move on.

Pros - there were a lot cats Cons - every cat was pretty much asleep. 4 employees pretty much ignored us the whole time except one girl who made the most minimal effort to help us. Since you can't pick up the cats, you need them to bring a cat to you, esp if they are sleeping. I asked and she said the cats were most active when they open a at 12pm. I am not a cat owner so only in hindsight does that make sense. But then why are they open 2 hours later after they are all tired out? Another girl came over after 20 min and said our time was almost up. We stayed 10 more minutes, on principle. I felt bad for the kiddos. They are very easy going so they seemed ok but I was annoyed at the whole experience. We'd been looking forward to it for a long time and had had a positive experience at the one in Palo Alto previously. Will not come back.

They were so friendly with both people and other cats that they had no problem getting right into chasing rainbow-worm and feather-stick toys. There's a mesh pen off to the side for cats that are still acclimating to the environment but even those cats accepted gentle pets without issue. The staff was very friendly and would allow me and my friend to hold cats that they knew were snuggle bugs (the staff picked up the cat and put it in our arms - picking up the cats on your own is against the rules!) Even though their food and litter were out in the open, there was no smell which is impressive given how many cats were sharing the space! The price was very reasonable for the quality of the experience and it's obvious these cats are looked after well. I would love to visit their other locations some time and consider adopting from here!
