Some may think it's too expensive, but to have high quality swimwear is very hard to find. Trust me. When I moved to Texas, I couldn't find anything even online! The style and design wasn't what I was looking for. The greatest thing of all is that shipping is $10 on their website! That's not bad! Pakaloha Bikinis has a variety of styles, colors, sizes for tops and bottoms. Try it all to find what you're most comfortable in. You'll look great in all of the styles. IMO The bikinis are very flattering to your body. The tops are on one side and bottoms on the other. If you're not sure, just ask. The staff are very helpful. In the dressing room, there's a QR code to accumulate points to get $$ off the next purchase. It's simple, quick, and FREE! I'm so glad that I came to Haleiwa to find Pakaloha. I didn't know the other location closed down. I'm sad to hear that one of my favorite bottoms will be retiring, but I'm looking forward to what Pakaloha has in store for the future!

"Hawaii Surf & Sail" is easy to find, as it has visible signage. If you're looking for a branded T-shirt or accessories to buy as souvenirs, they have those. But walking thought the shop, I would say Hawaii Surf & Sail is more of an "outfitter". It is a company which provides equipment and supplies for the pursuit of certain activities (in this case surfing, diving, snorkeling, etc.). They stock a lot of premium and well-known brands.

LOCATION: In Waialua near Haleiwa Town. Old sugar mill location. Dirt parking lot, free parking. ATMOSPHERE: Very local, rural feel to this place. It used to be the home to hundreds of sugar workers back in the days when they used to grow cane in Wailua and Mokuleia. STORE: has all sorts of apparel, boards, wet suits. Dressing room is the bathroom. Hilarious art work scattered throughout the store. My favorite one was: LIVE FREE, DELETE INSTAGRAM. So funny. PRICE: standard pricing here, not much cheaper than the mall, but that's probably set by the vendor, for instance, men's Van's shirt $25.00, but still a good price, especially if it's a design you really want. RETURN FACTOR: Yes, for more shirts. Especially around XMAS time.

Don't want to spend $45 on a towel, as you would upstairs at the gift shop inside the hotel? Then this is the place for you, where you can buy towels for $12. It's essentially a convenience store, with some fun tourist gifts and knickknacks. They sell sunscreen, Advil, Pepto-Bismol, and all that kind of stuff. They sell snacks, cereal, drinks, as well as well as more beachy items. They also sell some cute stuff that you could take home if you are here visiting Hawaii. The staff is generally very nice, and professional. Whenever I am staying at the hotel, or attending the annual yoga festival at the hotel, I like to come here to get small items for breakfast. I'm not a big breakfast person, especially if I've got a full day. Also, this is much cheaper than essentially anywhere else on the Turtle Bay property. Hope you find what you need!

We started off with the instructor teaching us the basics and eventually we were able to stand and paddle on our own. What made the experience so great was that the instructor (think his name is Caleb) was super patient and really great at helping use learn. We started off in the ocean but eventually made our way to a small river where got to spot some turtles and the water there was really smooth and nice too. If you're looking for a place to learn how to stand up paddle board, this is the right place for that!

They know you want to get in the water ASAP so they don't mess around. This made me feel like every minute of our session was very impactful. As you would expect; you do a quick land lesson to discuss how the whole thing works and then you head out. The owner, Jodi, did the quick land lesson and got the basics down which was surprisingly simple and straightforward. Our paddle board instructor, Mike, lead us out on the water and eased us into the lesson. He didn't force us to go from sitting to kneeling to standing until we felt ready. He told us that he used to own/run a martial arts school for a very long time so I think his teaching instincts are on point. My boyfriend had a hard time standing up and Mike stayed back to coach him. I did pretty good but Mike still helped me with good tips and let me go out further on my own. I really enjoyed having some independence but still felt secure with Mike there. Random thoughts: The scenery was peaceful and serene; perfect for any anxious learners like us. Having the van near the showers was a nice touch; I can tell that Jodi must come extra early to score this great spot. Jodi's recommendation on what to time to do the lesson was spot on. Earlier is best. We also saw two turtles! That was cool!!!!!!! A fun learning experience at a phenomenal value. Customer service was perfect. Our lesson inspired me to plan for another SUP session soon. And hopefully something I'll do on a regular basis! We'll be back to rent paddle boards until we're ready to invest in our own. Thanks Mike and Jodi! We're officially hooked.
