Visited 4/29/2019 Wow…read moreThis is a great little roadside attraction at the Salton Sea. Run by the owner they don't open till 12:30 AM. The owner drives a bright yellow banana color Camaro that will be parked out front. Everything about this place spells bananas with lots of souvenirs to be had and other little knickknacks that the owner has collected over the years. He also serves several different ice cream's including, you guessed it, Banana Ice Cream, I have heard that the banana chocolate shakes are amazing but have as of yet not tried one myself. Next visit. He charges a $1.00 a head to come in and take pictures. Spend as much time as you're like there is plenty of little things to look at. All in all this isn't a bad little attraction to spend a little hour of your time. Enjoy.

The couple that owns the establishment are very friendly! The price for admission is $1, but will be waived with a purchase. The place was once a bar that belonged to the owner's family, until he turned it into the Banana Museum it is now. They have some Banana flavored ice cream/shakes and other treats or other various assortments of souvenirs and knick-knacks. I wouldn't recommend traveling 30+ miles just to go to this place alone, but if that's what you are into, go for it! We visited while traveling back from Salvation Mountain & East Jesus. Please do call ahead! We got there at around 1:30pm and the place was still closed, but the owners happened to arrive as we were about to leave. So we got lucky!

Barcelona started at a tapas bar where we chose tapas from a buffet in a rustic atmosphere of archways made of giant stones, Then a Barcelona tour that included architecture from the Roman era to Gaudi's creations and a view of America's Cup race in the Marina. A train took us to Alicante where we stayed in a Palace that was 100 feet away from the plaza full of sidewalk cafes! Paid a visit to the Miguel Cervantes tribute (Author of Don Quixote), the plaza, and marina. Next was Seville, where we took a tour and stopped at a Pizza restaurant -- walked around some landmarks, and prepped for our 4 days in Madrid. There we had an amazing Tapas and Wine Tour, visited Prado Museum, and other historical sites, and yes, discovered some amazing cafe/restaurants right around the corner from our hotel. Found the best Paella in Spain, discovered new wines, and found a restaurant "Jardin Secreto" overlooking the plaza. (from a list of hidden dining gems thanks to tour guide Patricia Willems.) There is no way I could have arranged or found everything myself. It was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience.

Small and quaint, we ordered hot chocolate and cake pops for the ride. Very pretty 12-15 minute ride through gorgeous grounds and winery, and an adorable set up going through Santa's workshop. Affordable, too. $75 per carriage, and we had 6 people in our carriage-2 sets of parents and 2 kids. The 6 of us loved it. All in all, a great evening.

The Headless Horseman Carriage Ride was definitely a hit! When my nephew asked his daughter, what was the favorite thing about our family get together, she said, the Headless Horseman ride. We also found a Great Pyrenees on site that she fell in love with. This dog was such a sweetie! It was about a 20-minute horse-drawn wagon ride through Wine Country Hollow where we saw some cute Halloween and fall scenes and then we had a magical encounter with the Headless Horseman! There is coffee, hot chocolate & treats available from Coffee Cave to enjoy before or after your ride. Everybody working we're all fun and friendly. The Headless Horseman ride is available select October nights from 5:30 to 9:30 PM at a reasonable $15. This fills quickly, though, and we were lucky to get a reservation. I would love to come back and try some of their other carriage rides.
