The two guys behind the register looked at me, made a hand gesture saying he was closed. Then I pointed to my watch, and he made the same gesture. I was here and had an incident where a white cashier was being racist towards my family. He asked them to leave because "the store is closing. " They are all people of color. I'm white. I wasn't asked to leave. On the door, it says the store closes at 8pm. We were there at the store from 5:30-5:46pm on Sunday, 8/27/17. So, I asked the white cashier, not knowing he was the one ushering out, my family about the incident while my family stood outside. He told me that this must have been "Bobby the manager" that said that. I wrote a note with my contact info on it to the mystical "Bobby the manager, " because the white cashier told me it was him. I told my family what my resolution was, and my brother- in - law came in the store to see who i talked to. He confirmed it was this cashier after we'd left. Unbelievable. read more

Where the heck is all the beer in Saugus? My attempts at getting a six pack kept getting thwarted until we stopped at North Shore Liquors. I guess you have to go to a liquor store in order to buy beer in Saugus? Is this true? Someone please confirm. But it all worked out because they have lots of beer (and wine, and spirits) here. I honestly think that someone needs to re-train the staff here on proper business etiquette and how the concept of store hours work. I arrived at 10:50pm to pick up some vodka for a night cap. I had looked online and saw that this location closed at 11pm and was happy I would have just enough time to go in. As I got out of my car and walked towards the store I saw a man in front of me go in and commence turning off all of the lights and locking the door. I understand it was 10 minutes to close but it wasn't 10:58 or 10:59 this was still a full 10 minutes and I wasn't planning on browsing. The guy comes out and I asked him if the sign on the door and the posted online closing time (both of which said 11pm) were correct. I was told "well not 11 right on the nose we got shit to do" I told him then that the sign on the door and online should either be updated to when they actually close for business or they should perhaps do their "shit" after store hours. I once again pointed out the sign on the door that said they were open for business until 11. I was told that was my "opinion". No sir, your posted store hours are not an opinion. Whether or not pineapple belongs on a pizza is an opinion, something that is posted by your own business as a matter of course is NOT an opinion. How about I try to buy a bottle of vodka from you nice folks and when you inform me of the price I try to haggle. Would I get away with that? I don't think so because my opinion of what the price should be doesn't change what the posted price actually is. Funny enough this same concept can be applied to posted hours of operation. If you feel you need more time to "do shit" I would suggest amending your hours to allocate yourself the necessary time instead of wasting your customer's. read more
