I visited Midtown before as a prospective member so I know that guests can only enter a limited number of times. We went upstairs past the cardio machines (they are plentiful) and the weight area to the cafe. There are tables and booths that overlook the outdoor pool area (closed for season). It wasn't a large brunch but we had some made-to-order omelets, bacon/sausage and fruit. There was also some potatoes and pastry. When I sat down to eat I received a text from Midtown about a membership. The brunch was bottomless although one omelet was enough for me. I also had two emails from Midtown when I got home, one a waiver of liability and the other a membership offer. I didn't join as a member on my previous visit and I am not going to join now. I already have a Pilates membership that includes three studios with classes from 6am-8pm. Midtown has a Pilates studio but none of the class times work for me. They also have some reformers in the middle of the cardio area reserved for private lessons. If I have a private lesson I would prefer to be in a secluded area, not in the middle for all to see. The facility has many machines, a boxing area, a cycling studio, a theatre, a spa, a cafe, courts, pool, etc and this is a great place for those who need this. There are families who spend the morning at lessons, classes, workouts, then join up in the cafe. This is great for those who are looking for this but it doesn't fit my needs right now.

She takes the time to explain why each exercise is important, what part of the body it supports, and how it helps build strength, mobility, and balance. LOVE it! THANK YOU Annie! What I once thought of as "needless torture" is now something I genuinely look forward to. Annie's clear, inspiring explanations turn every session into a mini anatomy lesson, you leave not just feeling stronger, but also understanding your body better. Since working with Annie, I've noticed a real improvement in my balance, which has been such a confidence boost. Her attention to detail and encouragement make you feel supported, whether you're a beginner or more advanced. If you're looking for a Pilates instructor who combines knowledge, passion, and a genuine dedication to her students' progress, Annie H. is truly one of the best.

I'm very confident no therapist could have made my recovery as easy both physically and mentally as Emily and her team did. Even before asking any questions prior to surgery, they addressed all my concerns (a lot of concerns) and explained the importance of physical therapy and what could go wrong if I were a disobedient patient.. Emily is an absolutely amazing physical therapist. In my short basketball career I came in contact with countless NCAA trainers and therapists, sometimes to assist me and other times my teammates. None of them seemed to care a fraction as much as Emily, who never hesitates to share her education to help you better understand what your body is trying to tell you whether it be numbness, pain, or anything in-between. Her number one priority is assuring you get back to the capability you desire. The facility is always clean, every employee from the desk to therapists and interns are extremely pleasant and approachable. The machines are top notch and the environment is always friendly. IBJI has the best physical therapy operation around, you'd be a fool to go anywhere else.

The lowest package offered allows you 4 visits a month whereas the elite package allows 8 visits a month. After a month, I realized I would see results quicker by coming twice a week. This location is very small and only has one room, but that seems to be plenty for the clientele in the area. The classes I've attended are anywhere from 5-15 people. And the classes can literally fit into anyone's schedule. There are classes 7 days a week starting as early as 5:45am all the way to 7pm. This fitness style is really geared towards non athletic to semi athletic individuals who need guidance in a workout session. If you're already a hard core exerciser, then OTF really isn't necessary for you. I enjoy it so much because the coach offers that bit of accountability that I need to keep pushing myself. I love how everyone in attendance is participating in the same thing, so it is not a gym in any sense. These are purely studios to attend a class. It's super unintimidating because every body is different and you really cannot base your stats against someone else's. Overall, this studio is clean and offers all necessities. I've experienced very friendly staff as well!

INITIAL REVIEW…read more OrangeTheory could be the urban oasis I've been looking for in the 'burbs. I've been desperate to get out of the house and start working out again. A couple of my friends actually drive upwards of an hour just to get to OrangeTheory in Evanston. So when I heard they were opening up in Bannockburn, I jumped on the chance. This site is currently in a pre-trial phase, so I get to see the bugs they're working out, etc. We early adopters get to try out the program for a couple of weeks and see what it's all about. It seems fitting they moved into the previous Sylvan location (which moved around the corner) after all of the afternoons I spent there all last year getting tutoring help for my kiddo. The idea of the program is a one-hour workout... 30 minutes cardio, 30 minutes strength training. I have to say... I am quickly reminded of just how out of shape I am. The good news is you can make the program work to your own personal level of fitness. There are "softer" men and women there as well as some serious hardbodies. Also, in the pre trial phase there doesn't seem to be any egos. You know... you go to the gym and see how much more in shape everyone is. With this program, you're really only focusing on yourself. Although, the person next to me RUNNING the whole half hour of cardio... yeah... couldn't ignore that. I, on the other hand, am a "power walker" and just fine with that. The room itself is dimly lit with huge orange orbs that give the room a cool vibe. They have a good stereo system going and seem to be picking great music so far. The headset today kept blowing on the instructor -- like I said, they're figuring out the kinks. I have a feeling when I do an official review it'll be fixed. The instructors are also new to OrangeTheory but not the kind of instructor who is just your next door neighbor who decides to go teach a class. They know what's going on but figuring out the timing of the class. Again, I don't expect these bumps to last. We are pioneering a new location after all. They are in a pretrial period through June 26 (I think) which means pretrial prices. Just a thought...

Met…read morewith the owner and discussed a minimum of 2 athletes but possibly more, with a couple of their friends. The issues started with our first session where the trainer contacted me about 2 hours before the session and said he was not able to make it. No reason was given for missing. I then had to chase the owner and the trainer to get the session rescheduled. The owner agreed to take them a couple of days later which I appreciated. We decided to move the session from weekends to weekdays with a different trainer and asked if we could start the sessions at 4:30PM due to after school functions and the owner agreed. On our most recent session, one of my boys was ill, so we sent just the one. Imagine my surprise when we were charged $120 for the hour. I also found out that the regular trainer had been showing up late anywhere from 15-25 minutes for their sessions. The owner was who was working with another athlete was working with my kids until the trainer arrived while splitting time with someone else. Not fair to his regular client and not fair to my kids. I was never made aware of the time issue with the trainer. The owner did say that they preferred to work on the hour and not half hour. However, he did agree to 4:30. When I reached out about the large charge for 1 kid and finding out that their trainer was arriving late for every session, the email that I received was: "I will refund you guys completely. I personally warmed up XXXX as XXXX (Trainer) arrived to the gym, he took over the sessions. in all honesty, I don't think this is a good fit for us. The 4:30 time slot is not great for us and the number of athletes has not been consistent. Sorry for the inconvenience." Remember, he originally agreed to the 4:30 time slot. Even if we chose 4:00PM, the trainer would not have been there at all. Also, with the exception of this last session, there was always 2 at the session and once a friend joined in to make it 3, so I am not sure what consistency he was looking for? I responded that I agreed it is not a great fit and went through all of the mentioned issues and that we would find a new facility. Follow up response was best of luck to you guys and happy holidays.

Almost 3 years ago, I was recommended by a friend of mine to check out FIT Boutique and immediately decided to purchase a ten-session package - the prices are very fair. The gym was a new environment for me; there was so much to learn, and I was just a beginner. The owner, Jim, made me feel comfortable and welcomed whenever I stepped foot in FIT Boutique, answering any questions I had regarding exercise. As an all-around very friendly and knowledgeable guy, Jim really motivated me to continue pursuing strength and good health for years to come! My goals when signing up included building muscle, endurance, and strength. My trainer, Shane, instituted growth in me through a vast amount of exercises that helped me reach my goals, and after just the first 2 sessions I was beginning to see the results I wanted. Throughout the process, he motivated me to push myself, and also made sure I felt good after each workout. Needless to say, this was a life-changing period of time for me as I gained skills, perfected form, and I continue to learn exercises. I definitely recommend you check out FIT Boutique!

After my first session, the first time working out in way too long, it was difficult pressing the button on my garage door opener. Since then I am no longer destroyed after my sessions, but know that I have had a good workout. Jim, the owner and my trainer has been cool and flexible with my schedule and has provided just the right amount of motivation without making things unpleasant. The price is a bit expensive, but you are paying for good equipment in a convenient location, and one-on-one time with a professional. When I am there, the gym is not crowded and the music has been good. Try it out - as far as I know, the $100 for 8 1 hour personal training sessions is still going.

I recently discovered they have a great match play on Sunday evenings that you can sign up thru USTA. The kids can get USTA points, but it's much more lowkey than your typical USTA matches. My 12 year old has gone twice so far and has really enjoyed it. Jean (who runs the program) matched him perfectly both times and even offers some coaching during the matches. They mentioned it's moving to Saturday mornings for the summer so we'll try to make it a few times and I'd love my daughter to try it as well who is very into USTA tournaments right now. My son is going to try his first USTA tournament in a few weeks and I think will be well prepared for the experience thanks to this program.

Some of the classes are coached at college park and others at Marriott in Lincolnshire. The prices here are a tad higher than at some other northwest suburbs clubs, but this place is well worth the extra buck. The coaches are very very good. Classes are fast paced and very educational. Not only does this place have tennis courts but it also has racquetball, taekwondo, and a fitness club. What a variety! The facility itself is very modern, clean, and has many accommodations. The bathrooms/locker rooms are fanominal. They are always clean, stocked on free tampons, good blow driers, hairspray, free towels, lotions, razors, etc. You want it, they got it. There is even a whirlpool! The upper level is the main floor and it looks over the tennis courts, on both sized of the building. Amazing views! This is what every club needs. People can cheer from above without being on the same level as you, and everyone has a great view of the game. The staff is always very friendly. I give it 4 stars and not 5 because of a few things. The parking lot gets packed and is very hard to get in and out of it. The lighting seems to always make my eyes hurt by the end of my time there... And for some reason I feel like there is something always missing , like a welcoming atmosphere, feel like its missing here.. It feels like you come in play and get out without getting that warm comfort.. Whether you are new to tennis or have been playing for years I suggest you try it out, you are sure to like it!
