He then disappeared to the driveway area camera where he used his phone for 10-15 minutes. He then came back to the heat pump camera and proceeded to replace the cover over the wires and tightened down the 4 screws he had removed. Saved it all on video.

It took Mike 4 months to replace the plug and play thermostat and board and it still doesn't work and he doesn't know how to fix it so he just says it's fine. I send him pictures of it covered in ice like an igloo but he says it's tough to tell looking at a picture. Unit fully under warranty but Mike won't help get me a working unit. Never showed up when it was cold and frozen like he said he would. If you are looking for an overpriced heat pump that doesn't work in winter and an HVAC guy that doesn't have a clue how to fix the units he installs Mike is your guy! He sure will cash your cheque though! My advice is look elsewhere for HVAC service.

I am appalled and disgusted by the way I was treated by Mike, the owner of the company. On the 27th…read moreof December I sent him a message to tell him that my furnace and heat pump (that was installed not even a year ago) wasn't heating my house properly... Again! The temperature in my house was down to 14° and my 5 year old was so cold she was crying and my mom was sick with a cold. I didn't hear back from him so I called him a couple hours later. He answered the phone and said he got my message, I proceed to tell him that we were freezing and his exact words to me were, "I DON'T GIVE A F*** IF YOU'RE COLD!". During our conversation he repeated this many times to me along with saying, "houses get cold", "my warranty is up with you" and "I answered the phone to be nice". I had the units installed in March, to obviously keep my house from getting cold, and there is a one year warranty with the company which was not up yet. This company claims to have 24/7 emergency service but I guess it's only if he feels like honouring his warranty. He told me that since I live on Quadra Island he isn't going to come whenever there is an issue... He certainly had no problem coming to the island to take my money though. Right from the start after having the units installed I have had nothing but problems with the way Mike has conducted business with me and spoken to me. He didn't show me anything about maintaining my units and had me go under the house and connect the thermostat to the furnace over the phone because he didn't feel like coming back to the island to do it himself. If you're thinking about getting this company to install anything RUN!!!!!!! There are WAY better companies out there that respect and care about their customers.

With a house fully of family guests here for a family funeral I called the manager hoping to persuade him to honour his company's commitment. I've never been shouted at louder, and I've never been hung up on before from an owner of a business. I highly recommend calling another plumbing company before subjecting yourself to this kind of customer service. Even knowing it was a sensitive time due to a recent family member's death didn't stop this "manager" from shouting at me several times even after I asked him to calm down. Someone at APEX needs a holiday. If customer service and respect is important to you, avoid APEX at all costs.

This company is horrible!!!. If my family could give them negative stars we would. I would not…read morerecommend them to my worst enemy. They found an issue with my elderly Nanny's condensate line last August (2018) - a rodent had chewed the line. They said they had to order parts. It took until April of this year (2019) to finally get the parts and their excuse was they were back ordered because it isn't a usual part to fail. My cousin called the distributor who told her that it was untrue - It was that Thermotec never followed up with the order. To add insult to injury Thermotec charged my Nanny $474.23 to put in a plastic tube that they stated took 3.5 hrs- to which the grossly inflated the hrs the technician was even at her house & charged a $30 truck charge on top of it all. In January Nanny's HP wasn't working (again) so she called Thermotec (because they were the ones that installed the system) they came out and charged her over $200 (plus truck charge again) to change the batteries in her remote as that turned out to be the issue- over $200 for a couple of $$ worth of batteries- disgusting. It was at this time that Nanny mentioned she was still waiting for the part from last August which was was triggered them to get on ordering it.Nanny lives on her own as Poppa just died a few months ago so my cousin spoke to the owner of Thermotec, Mike, about the invoices and all he did was interrupt her & tell her how rude she was for trying to help Nanny from being ripped off. He also said that the part they ordered (condensate line) is not available as it is not a usual part to fail- why did Thermotec install equipment in my elderly grandparents home in the first place if parts are unavailable? We have since learned that condensate line can be bought at Andrew Sheret for most Heat pumps. Mike just looked for EVERY excuse in the book & said he would not even reduce the invoice when my cousin asked - his response was that he had a business to run and didn't care if we felt that Nanny was being taken advantage of. Nanny has put out over $1000.00 in total repair on equipment only a couple years old & shouldn't be gauged by a greedy arrogant business owner. Call ANYONE but these guys for new purchases or service!
