Prices are amongst the best I've seen…read more I've been buying Benjamin Moore paint samples, in an effort to get just the right shade of colour for my walls, and at this store they're $6.95. I went to the Benjamin Store on Langstaff (near Weston Rd) and the same can was $11....and at the Benjamin Moore store on Bathurst near Major Mac they were $8.99. Huge savings here. Access Ito the lot when driving east on Steeles is odd (as its a curved entrance for those people travelling west), but further down there's another entrance. The staff members I've interacted with have been stellar...from the consultant who works in the paint section to the staff at the counters...all have customer skills down pat. This is now my preferred location to purchase paint.

As I did do a comparison and did not like the roller from Dollarama. I'm a complete noob and did not estimate the gallons of paint I needed and bought 2 gallons more than I need. Oops now that it's tinted I don't think I can take it back anymore. Shucks. I shouldn't have tinted all the colours otherwise I can use it on my own home, which I really regret... there goes $200! Also I tried emailing them and contacting them on the website to get my receipt they never responded. I'll have to call them when I get a chance.

I could have done a better job if I just went to the dollar store and purchased a paint brush and did it myself, with zero experience. I would honestly be embarresed if I was Jeff. For first-time DIYers in painting - they have pretty excellent knowledge base that they are super-willing to share. For me and the BF - they may have overestimated our painting capabilities - but what I did enjoy is their color wall - even though we eventually decided to go for a neutral white - we still had 181 choices to choose from. The paint finishes on their swatches are pretty accurate - in various lighting settings too - plus application and clean up was pretty easy once we were done - since the paint we got was water based. Couple of cool good-to-know items: 1. Sign up for their preferred customer list - they can notify you when they have a 40% off sale on paint - which gives you a really good discount on really good paint. 2. There is an app for that - called colour match - it has their entire color catalogue - plus they'll color match if you are looking to replicate a color in real life. Bonus - it is free. 3. They also could create your customer profile; which tracks your paint color purchases up to 7 years - so that's handy so you don't need to worry about storing those paint chips somewhere. Price-wise - Sherwin probably costs a bit more than the big box home hardware stores - but they more than make up for it in customer service - hence the four stars
