The fencing in areas needs to be replaced and the ground cover also gets muddy after a good rain. Upgrade fencing , bring in a dedicated dog drinking fountain and this is a 3 star dog run. Voluntary Labor only gets things so far and as this is a city park even an average lawyer could prove the city liable for things..... Fix the gates! Simply replace the burnt out bulbs would help us early AM evening visitors. I thought the area had everything possible and done.... Sad to know dog parks in SD, IL and IA are thousands of times better, have volunteer workers AND use tax funds to maintain safe areas. UPDATE: Apparently you enlightened liberal dog owners have very little knowledge of Kennel Cough and other diseases when your happy that others leave toys and bowls in the park. Many praise it and as one who pays attention will ask those happy with this if they are enlightened enough to believe everyone is vaccinating and caring for their pet as much as you do? I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT. If your dog gets aggressive... Leash Up and/or Leave! If your dog bites another dog.. exchange info and call the Police so a report is made. I have witnessed TWO events where the aggressive dog owner leaves and says NOTHING as the injured dog owner is attending to their pet. Hey, but I must be the one with the problem here! At least the park people got off their dead behinds and removed the wire below the first gate and mowed. I guess installing new lights to illuminate the park is to much to ask for and expect! Sad that the taxes paid do not cover BASIC maintenance issues to the over paid and under worked park staff.... keep sitting in your vehicles on your phones and we can start documenting your "strenuous" work day for you.... Again.. I will gladly show up and pitch in to help and I do believe it's time to demand the Park Board, Mayor and City Council start getting outside with us and take care of what the taxpayers have purchased BEFORE another item is purchased or leased.....

This is a nice off-leash dog park located in Norwalk by Calf Pasture Beach. There are usually a…read moregood number of dogs there at all times, so if your dog is off-leash, you'll want to make sure that they act appropriately. There is a small body of water, but it gets very, very muddy, so I would bring a few towels if you plan on letting your dog get wet. There isn't really a trail, per se, but there are a few rambling paths in the wooded area of the park. It's not huge, but it's large enough that dogs will have plenty of space to run and play fetch. It's larger than any gated dog parks I've been to in the area. The only downside of the park is very limited parking and you have to make sure you have an up-to-date Norwalk city permit. They are very strict about enforcing it. I once forgot my permit and I got a ticket!

Went to the park with our 6 month old dog on Saturday, March 8, 2025. once in the gate an adult dog which was some type of Bull Dog made a bee line for my puppy. The owners did nothing to intervene, until I was screaming at the woman to get her dog away from mine. She finally grabbed her dog and made way to the exit, but then let him loose again before I could get my Collie through the gate and out of the main park area. The dog again attacked my puppy and my son looked at the woman who was standing there watching and laughing. The Bull dog (who was literally wearing a harness with some kind of spikes on it) clearly was let loose again on purpose to attack. When I yelled at the woman again her Husband (?) stood leering at me in a confrontational stance. There was another gentleman at the park whose Pitbull was playing in the small dog enclosure, and he was shouting at the couple as well about how their dog attacked his Pitbull and that they shouldn't be at the park with a violent dog The park could be really nice when there are responsible owners who are courteous and when rules are actually enforced.

I carefully introduce the dog park to them when it's empty for a short period of time, introducing one or two dogs at the time.Today they were so good meeting one calm older dog. Then few more dogs were coming to the park. My girls started to get reactive and bark, and I was trying to leave the park, leading my girls out of the park on the leash, and carrying the doggy bags as well I was stopped by an angry outraged lady, who started criticizing me, and saying that I should not be there to begin with. It took at least 15 minutes for her to spill all angry things she had to say. I was so stunned, that I continued to listen to her, while holding my babies, who were getting more and more upset. What a horrible experience. Its astonishing, how important it is for people to make others feel horrible about themselves.

Huge field, 2 tennis courts, a play gym and SPRINKLERS/SPLASH PAD. I wouldn't call it a splash pad though because the floor is concrete. Water shoes or bare feet work best for water area. There are only 2 swings. One is the traditional type and the other is a chair but it has no pull down bar. So if you have an infant who doesn't know how to hold on...the chair may work for you at a very light pushing speed but thats up to your discretion. There are 2 play gyms so all ages are accommodated. At 11am there were only 2 other children there. By 1pm a few other families showed up. I loved that it wasn't crowded at all.
