In addition to walking and biking trails, it has a picnic area, a large off-leash area for dogs, fields, and gardens. It's open from sunup to sundown, and it has its own parking lot (a plus in Westport). It's really more of a large abandoned farm estate than a park. It's beautiful and perfect for dogs to run around in. There's a watering fountain, some toys (but not many--bring your own), and nice benches scattered around the grounds. Nice touch: the benches are named in memory of people's pets. Very nice park.

I arrived at 11ish, paid $22 (non-Connecticut residents have to pay) and found parking immediately. Around 12:30 the parking lots were at capacity and closed. I love how there's so much to do at the park. You can grill, go to the beach, go for a walk and even ride your bike. It's a great time. The beach is small and full of rocks and pebbles. The water was freezing even in the hot weather. The walk towards the water is even worse. There's rocks everywhere you step and can be extremely painful. My sister and I both cut our feet trying to get in and out of the water so I HIGHLY recommend getting some water shoes! My favorite parking lot is the west side only because there's a bathhouse where you can change, use the bathroom and take a shower. Highly recommend to come here for a fun beach day or picnic or grilling. Love love this place!

There is a small body of water, but it gets very, very muddy, so I would bring a few towels if you plan on letting your dog get wet. There isn't really a trail, per se, but there are a few rambling paths in the wooded area of the park. It's not huge, but it's large enough that dogs will have plenty of space to run and play fetch. It's larger than any gated dog parks I've been to in the area. The only downside of the park is very limited parking and you have to make sure you have an up-to-date Norwalk city permit. Even though it has concrete as the ground cover I don't see it getting too hot for your dogs since there is so much shade. Add poop bags and water in the small dog run and this a 5 star run.
