Tony! I had a Tacoma shutter / vibration coming in. Removing my 6" blocks and springing my up, the shutter was gone and I was stoked my sled was working properly. The axel wrap was gone, the drivetrain angle was set correct. Great guys. Go here is you want it done right. read more

YES! LOVE THEM! DISABLED FRIENDLY!! Mr. Tony and team are amazing! I cannot thank them enough for such amazing Customer Service and the phenomenal work they did to help fix my rear springs. They help to lift my wheelchair lift in the back to be much further off the ground. It was scrapping badly before. Now my miniVan sits higher, drives like a dream and the lift no longer scrapes. YOU GUYS ROCK!! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!! read more

These guys are professional, honest and know what they are doing. They fixed my springs and did it right thanks for being here

I came here in a referral from another shop in Temecula Valley. I needed my rear 4 leaf springs removed due to sagging and replaced with a 5 spring set up. The shop I would usually use had jobs backed up for weeks. I called Tony Elkins the shop owner and explained what I needed done. He had me come in the next day as first in job. My car is a classic 1972 Ford Mach1. They respected my car and took the time and effort to ensure everything underneath where a jack or jackstand touched was protected. Ish was the mechanic that worked on my car. Real nice guy, quick and professional. He knew what he was doing and did a great job. I highly recommend this shop. They're fairly priced and very competent. You get what you pay for. read more

Well, I happy to give a good review when its deserving. I brought my 2018 RV in there because it needed better suspension in the rear, it felt unstable and underwhelming when driving. (FYI, I'm a 40 year master mechanic ) I explained what I wanted and what I was expecting, and WOW did they deliver! Remember this is a brand new RV and it drove great , but since they did the spring work in the rear and lifted it a bit, it's unbelievable!!!! What a difference, it so much more stable, it's easier over big bumps and the steering and handling is better. And oh yeah, I was gonna ruin my front tires the way it was, not it's perfect Thanks guys. read more

I've owned a 1964 Airstream 24 ft. single axle trailer since 2006 that has never had any axle service or problems. After a few long-range trips to thru No. CA, Oregon, Idaho, WA. & South Dakota, I decided to have my axle evaluated for safety precautions. I was referred to "Tony" by a local San Diego Dexter axle distributor. Tony was great, honest, and thoroughly knowledgeable of airstream trailer axles and he gave me tips to continue & maintain safe traveling. Luckily my axle was in good condition and I look forward to more camping and traveling. I highly recommend him for his honesty and trustworthiness. ***** George B. read more

We took our 2019 RV into get some guidance about the way it was handling on the road. I had done some research in forums with other RV owners about the way people were adding aftermarket solutions. Tony had aligned our last RV and we really had a good feeling about the way he went about that. So I decided to come back and get his expert opinion before making any changes. They advised me to go to the source, the springs, rather than "adding" a bunch of aftermarket goodies that will maybe... mask the issue, at best. Yay!! Best advice. The coach drives so much more stable than before, I feel very safe now. I could tell a HUGE difference when I drove it back to storage last night via the surface streets. I can't wait to try it out on the highway!!!! Thanks for doing a great job and I must say I really appreciate the way you all don't talk down to women. :-) Photos to follow :-) read more

Top notch, I came in for a new set of leaf springs for an older travel trailer that no one could find and they had them in stock and heavier duty than my old ones. I want to give a huge shout out to Tony, owner of North County Spring in Escondido, Ca. This summer we were having trouble with the axle on our two year old travel trailer and Tony provided us amazing advice regarding the problem. Not once, but twice, Tony crawled under our trailer to assess the issue and his conclusion was to take it back to the dealer since the axle was likely bent/faulty coming from the factory. He would not accept a penny for this and wished us well. He even checked the work after we had it done (another trip under the trailer) saying the parts were not the best but acceptable and for us to go and enjoy our trailer. Honest, professional and a really nice person. read more

My wife and I have been beefing up the suspension on our 2018 Winnebago Class A motorhome since driving from San Diego to Maine and back, and we were fortunate enough to have the latest improvement - a set of KONI FSD (golds) shocks - installed by "Ish" at North County Springs in Escondido, CA a few days ago. We have always looked to 'heavy truck shops' for this type of work as opposed to RV or automotive shops. North County Springs are really the subject matter experts when it comes to stiffening control and smoothing the ride of heavy rigs and we were not disappointed. Tony Elkins, the owner, has decades of experience, has hired the very best folks (like "Ish" and Johnathan), and even keeps a working blacksmith's shop as part of the capabilities available on site. So after talking with 'Ish' about what we had already done to our rig (Roadmaster heavy anti-sway bars, and Urethane Sumo spring caps) we went ahead and purchased a full set of shocks and made an appointment for 'Ish' to do the installation. He took us in on short notice as promised, gave us directions to a great nearby breakfast spot (likely our next YELP!) called Home Sweet Home Café, and had our rig pointed out of the yard for us when we returned a couple of hours later. The KONI's have really enhanced the ride of our Ford F53 chassis, the installation by 'Ish' was both quick and flawless, and the bill was incredibly reasonable. These guys are really top-notch in our book! Tony has built a shop whose reputation speaks well for itself, and with his extremely knowledgeable and capable crew - it's a place I could just happily hang around in for morning coffee. Really big Kudos guys and we wanted you to know "we appreciate you". Lance & Storm Jensen read more

I was referred by a friend who had his custom leaf springs made here about 3 years ago. We have the same exact truck, what he paid was super reasonable, and he was happy how they turned out. So I called them to set up a appointment and get a rough estimate of what it'd cost. Owner picked up and just says "bring it in so I can look at it. I can't quote you over the phone. I have to see it." I brought my truck in a few days later. Owner says it'll be $3200.... I was shocked! My friend paid $1300. The company Deaver makes arguably the best leaf springs in the U.S and North County Spring is more expensive than they are? Makes no sense. Due to Deaver's long lead times I called Atlas Spring, which is another very reputable company in socal. They made me custom leaf packs for $2200. They're perfect and super comfortable. I even saved $1000 compared to North County Spring. My advice to anyone wanting custom leaf springs is to check somewhere else. There's way better options out there with better reputations and accurate pricing 50 miles away. read more

While I have known Tony for many years, I have actually never needed his services (sorry Tony!) until recently. In his typical fashion, nothing is a big deal ("well, just bring it in next week and we'll get it done. If you drop it off on Wednesday we will have it back to you on Thursday"). To me, when you snap 3 out of 5 springs on a 3/4 ton truck that you rely on every day this is kind of a big deal! Needless to say they banged it out (had it ready by 9:00 Thursday morning) and it feels like a new truck! Thanks obviously to Tony, and also to Ish and Ruben (also great guys) and reluctantly to Johnathon (all he did was take my money, but he was nice about it!). Great shop, great guys, great work!! read more

I was looking at options to improve the ride on my F250 when towing my toy hauler. Tony helped me put new leaf springs and shocks in my OBS Ford F350. Really did a great job. would highly recommend.

My 2015 GMC Canyon was on the suspension stops after loading the bed up with camping and off road gear (700 LBS plus people). The ride on road and off road was rough to the point of uncomfortable. I called several spring companies to talk about options. North County Spring was the most understanding of my problem and the most engaged in wanting to understand what I wanted the improvement to look and feel like. I dropped the Canyon off in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. The unloaded and loaded ride ( on road and off road) was completely smoothed. Ride height was where I wanted it to be and wheel travel was now using the full stroke of the shock. So awesome!!! Thank you North County Spring Team. The whole team was great to work with. read more

I took my old truck there to have the springs beefed up so that I wouldn't get wheel-hop when the tires broke loose. Instead of putting in an extra leaf or two they replaced the springs with new ones... $$$$$ It rides so rough now that its actually dangerous to drive on the freeway as the rear end literally bounces over all of the bumps. Its like I have NO springs because they're so stiff that they have no cushioning. They also replaced the shocks with skinny 1/2 ton shocks (its a 3/4 ton which takes a LOT beefier shock). They ALSO screwed up setting the drive-shaft angle - they set it at "0" instead of 4 degrees. Now I have no tension on the pinion/ring-gear and although just rebuilt, the rear end now "whines" at speed. I'm very unhappy with this place. read more

Make sure you get a written estimate if you use this shop! I brought in two leaf springs to be repaired on a Thursday, quoted $400 total and was told I could pick them up Monday morning. I left my number with Tony to call if there were any problems. I went by to get them on Monday but was told Tuesday at 1p. I gave it an extra day because I did not receive a call on Tuesday. Wednesday I went to pick them up and Tony laughed at me when I repeated the quote he verbally gave me and said he had more in materials than $400 (seems unlikely) and said $585. After I paid the additional money, he told his son to help load the springs who continued to site on the couch and play on his phone - I didn't wait around. - A written estimate or notes should have been made about the quote (partly my fault) - A phone call or text regarding a change to the quote would have been appropriate - Completing the work on time would have been professional - A phone call or text when the work was complete would have been courteous Unprofessional, but so far pretty good work. The springs were cleaned up nicely and painted, with new rubber and an additional leaf. There's a chance it may have lifted the back end of my truck up too much - we'll see after installation. read more

What a great local shop run by professionals who have not forgotten the art of customer service and quality workmanship. Took my 1989 Blazer there after I attempted to be a craft DIY suspension guy. Tony took great care of me and worked within my budget vs what work he could do to fix my mistakes. I was a little skeptical at first but it was done extremely earlier than I expected and the work was perfect. His welders and spring archers are true artisans, a 26 year old vehicle probably hasn't ran that smooth in years. I would go back here without shopping around and would recommend to any of my family and friends. If you want cheap, poor quality work, look some where else, these guys are pros. read more

Had lots of work done by Tony for business and personal use. Tony and his guys (Ish and John K, sorry johnathan. ;) ) are top notch at what they do! Great ethically run business but most importantly knowledgeable when it comes to suspension for anything from trailers to classic 2WD's, to brand new 4X4's. Rebuilt multiple spring packs for our peterbilts and trailers over the years and there is a reason we keep going back to these guys. I would highly recommend them to business associates and family alike! read more

These guys are way out of line with their pricing. I took a half day off of work to bring my 1500 series truck to them with the over the phone quote of $800.00 to rebuild my rear spring packs and lift the vehicle by adding leafs to my stock pack. When I got there he told me it would be $1200.00. When I asked where the extra value came from he said that he had to drop the springs and add 4 more leafs to each side. When I asked what he quoted for $800.00 he stated it was only to add 1 leaf. WTF? Denver 8 pack custom, new, and far superior quality were only $825.00 for 2 NEW packs. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. Do yourself a favor and walk away from this business. read more

Our new camper/truck had to be dialed in so we could safely get it on the road. So many folks (service/mechanics - i.e. camper world) wanted us to use inferior "cheap" fixes to get it on the road. I did an engine change about 5 years ago on my 1989 Toyota Landcruiser to put in a 5.3L Vortec V8 and redid the transmission and all the wiring. This was a great move and the work done by a shop in Orange County was outstanding. It is too long a story for this review but I made one huge error on the way to getting this work done and it was letting some idiot at another shop do a spring-over suspension change because they told me it had to be done to place the engine successfully. I eventually yanked the car from them and got the engine change done right but my second huge mistake was not to have suspension redone also. So I have suffered with the most ridiculous suspension for 5 years and basically hated the ride and eventually started worrying about even the safety of weaving around the highway at 70 mph. Finally, I decided to get rid of the truck, that I love and use for surfing 4-5 days a week. That was when my trusted mechanic said I had to go to Tony Elkins at North County Spring and give him a chance to tell me if he could fix it. He convinced me he could, it took 2 weeks and a complete revision back to a spring under, gas shock system that Tony completely built on site and eventually required a complete new steering system that is totally better than the original. He always told me what was going on, always answered the phone immediately, always told me the truth and was patient to explain the challenges as they arose. The rest of the guys in the shop were equally professional and respectful on every single interaction I had with them. I have now put over 500 miles on the new suspension and steering system. It is like a miracle. I have my old truck back, I love to drive it again, I really can't believe I put up with the old deal for so long. I can only say that I am a doctor, not a mechanic, and I just had no idea what engineering a suspension system could mean to the whole driving experience. I have learned the hard way. It was well worth the significant investment in time and money for North County Spring to do this restoration and I just wish I had done it 5 years ago. read more
