North Bend Towing is not a reputable business and the following story I hope will explain why. My accident was on our own property. Our Subaru Forester rolled slowly off our private road and down a very steep brush and berry bush covered bank and came to rest against a tree. I will spare the reader how this happened. I called AAA and the only towing service in the area available was 25 miles away, North Bend Towing. After over an hour and a half with several calls to AAA and no calls from North Bend towing service he finally arrived wearing a 45 caliber pistol (he did take it off before he started work on the retrieving our car) on his hip. We don't have a trailer hitch on the car so he connected the cables and straps around the rear axles. Not knowing of a better way to pull the car up I trusted his judgment on this cable attachment. Everything seemed to be going as planned until one of the straps connected to the right side axle snapped and the car shot back down the bank. Luckily he had attached a chain to something and it held, but the instant release and jerk of the car against the chain caused me much concern. This only half of the story. The tow truck driver seemed very cordial and explained view of situations like ours, saying that Insurance companies take a long time getting around to sending their adjusters to see the car and taking it to a repair shop of my choice. At that moment I had no idea where to have the vehicle towed. I called my insurance agent and the body shop we selected was not answering their phone. The tow truck driver said, don't worry about a thing, you can have it taken to our yard, and when you find a body shop of your choice we will tow it there. Not really knowing a better option at that time I elected to allow him to do that. I then called State Farm Insurance Claims Office and set up our claim. State Farm told me they would take care of everything from here. They would pick up our forester from the towing yard and take it to the body shop of my choice. This all sounded good so far, and I was relieved that we had ( State Farm Claims and myself ) found a very reputable body within a few miles from North Bend Towing Yard. I called every two days to see if the car had been towed yet, but to my surprise it hadn't. After a week I called State Farm Claims office again and found the reason. North Bend Towing had canceled the towing charge to AAA and was asking over $4000.00 for towing and storage. North Bend Towing was holding our Subaru Forester hostage until their tremendously inflated cost for towing and storage was paid. I called AAA again and asked to talk to a specialist in towing situations. They listened to the whole story above and basically told me that they were unable to do anything besides listen to me because North Bend Towing had not charged them. I registered my complaint to AAA and relayed my feelings that this North Bend Towing should be taken off their list of towing services for AAA customers. This whole process of talking the customer into taking their automobile to their storage lot was underhanded and insurance fraud. Over $4000.00 for storage and towing, they have to be kidding! I'm not sure at this point who paid and how much exactly, but at this writing the car has been towed to Berger's Top Body Shop in Coos Bay. I have told them my concern about the strap breaking and my concern about possible damage to the axles. My State Farm insurance premium will undoubtedly raise considerably no thanks to North Bend Towing. Addendum: I wonder how this whole scenario would have played out if I had had AAA car insurance also? read more

My nephew was driving home to Oregon from California on the day after Christmas. Lots of snow on the road and several accidents - we thought he would be ok in the 4x4 truck - but apparently one the accidents left stuff on the road - and after he had gotten a bit past one of the accidents the truck started pulling to the left. He pulled over and found that he had a flat front driver's side tire, and the rear drivers side tire was almost flat... AAA -finally after some conversation - contacted North Bend Towing. My nephew was over on HWY 42 east of Myrtle Point - in a snow bank area. Tina from North Bend Towing called me at home to let me know they would be out to pick him up with a flatbed as fast as they could get there. She even called me back to let me know when the truck was with him and would be bringing them home! She even had the driver take a picture of the road by where he was and sent me a copy so we could see how bad the weather was there. The driver was a sweety and North Bend Town was SO VERY KIND AND Caring!! - Don't ever hesitate - if you need help - give them a call!! Thank you Tina!!! read more

My 6 yr old son and I were stranded alone in a very bad and precarious location late one Saturday night. A 911 operator helped me call all of the tow companies within a 200 mile radius, of which there were dozens. North Bend Towing was more than an hour away from my location and was the only one willing to help us. Not only did they rescue us from a terribly scary situation, but they were the only ones with the equipment and the knowledge to deal with the worst possible tow emergencies. These guys were amazing, they saved my car which without them would have been abandoned. They helped my son and I get through something that was incredibly scary when everyone else refused to try. To top it all off, one of the guys who came to help us came out even though it was his birthday. Regardless of your towing need, whether you have a tricky or a straight forward situation, I'd ask anyone to use North Bend Towing simply because these guy are incredible human beings who deserve to have all of the business they can handle. read more

We had the pleasure of having the assistance of Derek Townsend when my kids and I were stranded on the side of the road with a flat. Being 2 hours away from home, he had us back on the road literally within a matter of minutes AND escorted us to where we could purchase a tire after. Service like this is hard to find anymore. My kids were so happy and they all said how much they were impressed. He even shook their hands. Not only was I impressed but thankful for his kindness. He even gave us pointers on loosening the lugs in the future because we hadn't been able to get them loose. I had huge issues with my vehicle last year and had to get my Nissan towed last year due to mechanical issues. It got a little crazy to arrange, but the communication was wonderful. I was able to meet the driver back at my vehicle to meet them for their ETA, and got both vehicles loaded and where they needed to be TWICE. Professional and courteous drivers. This company made us pay $1,000.00 in CASH at 7:30 at night to take possession of our utility trailer. We showed them we were fully covered by insurance and offered to pay with a company or personal credit card... NO... They wanted CASH!!! (They offered to take us to an ATM machine) As if the crash wasn't devastating enough (70 miles from home, and an injured employee taken to the hospital) this heartless and self serving company made our day hell. read more

Robert Smith mustve woke up on wrong side of the bed because he Just left me with my car, and he was the most disrespectful driver I have ever met. A absolute Failure, he deserves to be fired! North Bend Towing has helped me out so many times .My engine blew up I called them They came and got it took it to their shop and fixed it .Again I had engine problems They came and got it from Springfield!
