Lovely little Senior Center in the heart of downtown North Bend! We attended their Christmas Bazaar and Pancake Breakfast with Santa there this weekend. So much fun for the whole family!
Parking is plentiful and nice wide easy to park in spaces- the kind that used to be standard in public parking lots! No real big sets stairs that we saw- only nice ride wooden ramps with sturdy wooden railings up to the front door (that's on the left side from the parking lot.) This Senior Center is very accessible and convenient.
Breakfast was great! We were seated right away at a big round table next to the windows. We had a fantastic view of Santa and his helpers so that was really fun to watch. The volunteers were so kind and friendly and really made us feel welcome as a family. Good came out quick and hot and plenty of it! Eggs, sausage, ham, pancakes, orange juice and water. Everyone enjoyed it and left feeling fat and happy. Ha!
Santa was awesome! He was cheerful and friendly and just in a great mood! He was in no hurry and really took his time with the kids and family, asking everyone questions and discussing the merits of nerf toys and my little ponies like a champ. Pictures with Santa and cardboard frames are complimentary with the $6 breakfast donation. You take the pics with your own phone or one of Santa's helpers will take the pic for you so the whole family can be in the picture. Great stuff!
Santa came and ate breakfast at the table next to us later on. The kids really thought that was neat. They were so giggly and excited, and definitely extra well behaved sitting so close in proximity to Santa! Napkins, please, thank you, etc. they were all in extra use. Love it!
After breakfast we wandered down the hall and into the bigger multi purpose room. There was a pool table along the way and a nice library filled with mostly novels it looked like, lining the halls. The multi purpose room was smaller than the dining room but it was clean and well lit and full of tables. Lots of homemade crafts, vintage treasures and Christmas decorations for sale. Everything was very affordable in the $1-$5 range. We bought a wooden dove ornament and a couple of framed Christmas cactus pictures for a total of $3. On the way out, the kids were each given a peppermint candy and a small stuffed animal as gifts (for free!) the Grandmas running the cashier table were so sweet!
All and all a great experience for us and the extended family. The Senior Center was warm and welcoming, the food was great, the shopping was fun and breakfast with Santa was wonderful! read more
