As a paying member of Valley View Golf Course, I'm outraged at how I was treated here. I admit I…read moremade a mistake by playing the back 9 without paying immediately, but I had every intention of returning my key and settling up afterwards. Instead of handling the matter professionally, the manager cussed at me, accused me of "stealing," and turned the situation into a public scene. Even worse, my friends who had nothing to do with this, were kicked off on the very last hole. She went as far as to call me a "bad friend," trying to equate that with being a bad person. That kind of personal attack is unprofessional and unnecessary. To make things worse, she claimed to be the "owner," which I later found out is not true she is only the manager. As a member, I expected to be treated with respect, but instead I was humiliated and disrespected. This entire situation could have been handled calmly and privately, but instead it became hostile and embarrassing. Valley View should seriously reconsider who they put in charge of managing the course.

Came to Iron Horse Golf Club for a round while on the road back to California. There was no tee…read moretimes available, but the club staff went out of their way to introduce me to the senior mens group. Within a minute they invited me to join them for my first round at IHGC. The golf course is absolutely beautiful and a good test of skill. The regulars were very friendly and provided key tips when needed to navigate this great layout. All in all a perfect day on the links with a special group of golfers... and a staff that went the extra mile. Wish I lived nearby, but I'll be back soon!

The golfing experience here is so unique to other courses in the area. Plus, if you like cliff type tee boxes then you will love #9 and #16. What I loved is that there aren't two holes that are alike and the front nine is different from the back nine.

The Patty Melt is no longer stated as such, as it comes with sourdough bread. It was just okay. There was no dressing on it and it was not toasted well or completely. The fries and the tator tots were both plentiful and good. My wife's Grill Cheese Sandwich was okay as well. It is no longer on the menu, but she asked the friendly server if she could order one. (you have bread, butter and cheese?) But he had to check with the Chef as he was newer?? It is always a treat to visit the Schuyler Grill on our yearly visits to Nebraska, but this time, it left us feeling that it was just ok and could have been better.

The new carts were fast and "executive" like compared to other courses. No two holes were alike and several were challenging as far as length and elevation. The only negative I could think of was a dead tree in front of the green on #18. Otherwise, it exceeded expectations.

The views of the Platte River are better, and the tree removal has also enhanced air movement on the course. Less fungus than before! The staff is nice, and the clubhouse nicer! I think it's worth the higher green fee. We didn't wait, or slow anybody else down. Tee times every 15 minutes helps spread things out.

The first time my wife and I played we were 45 minutes early and they let us on early (stupid mapquest!) and they next time we were 20 minutes late (stupid interstate construction) and they let us on when we arrived. Nice people! This 9 hole course west of Lincoln is well-maintained, affordable (via great on-line rates) and a fair test of golf. While not overly long, two holes have split (elevated)/blind lay-up/go for it tee shots. A couple other holes have a creek that splits the fairway, again, lay-up/go for it shots. Both par 3s play uphill. No sandtraps. Oh... and no beer or liquor but it seems everybody brings their own cans of beer in. Works for me! Clubhouse has pop and snacks but outside of balls and tees they offer little else in golf stuff. I find the greens here very putt-able, they roll very fair. Overall, I really like this course (my wife does too).
