North Beach Park in Racine is beautiful. The beach is nice and clean and the water is clear. I have been to some beaches in Wisconsin where there are dead fish lining the shore. That is not an issue you have at this beach. If you see a fish, it is very much alive. There is plenty of space to spread out and everyone respects your space. We went on a Saturday morning and it wasn't very busy. They have a kids cove which is a jungle gym for the kids to play on. It is actually very involved with a lot of options. The view is very pretty and the water feels nice. It was a little cold when we went, but not too bad. Overall, the North Beach Park is the best part of Racine and a must if you are in the area. read more

We go here for walks because they have a lovely path that goes along the beach and up past the Racine Zoo. The path has some hills and stairs if you want to change it up. Plus it has a little wild part by the playground that helps you feel a little more connected to nature. No matter the weather, we enjoy this park. read more

Beautiful beach! It's what made me fall in love with Racine. So expansive and beautiful, I almost thought I was near the ocean. The paths and trails surrounding the beach area and breathtaking. I really enjoyed an afternoon at North Beach Park. It was hot & sunny so it was the perfect place to be. There is easy parking very close to the little cafe. The staff working there took our order quickly and were very friendly. They were upbeat which made for a fun atmosphere. We took our ice cold beer and smoothie out to a few Adirondack chairs and a hammock. The beach is huge, clean and surprisingly uncrowded. Sometimes they have live entertainment which I bet would be great fun. Live music on the beach - what could be better?!?! I will certainly return to check that out! read more

When you live on a great lake, you sometimes want to try a different spot from your regular go to. First time visit but on a brutal hot day, there was still a cool breeze to be had on the beach at North Beach Park in Racine which was a welcome relief. We would return to this beach, despite the crowds on a Saturday, parking was still available in the main lots. Great mix of folks, everyone chill, enjoying the sand and sun. Even recreational water activity to be had which was fun to watch too. Even though we were not close to the bar, we could still hear the band on the beach which was nice. This is a sandy beach, not a rocky one. If you have little ones, there is a terrific playground area they will love. We picnic'd and brought our own. Open containers seemed to be OK, and to everyone's credit, many were enjoying them responsibly. If you are up for checking the downtown drag out, there are many spots on the drag that address the usual, coffee, beer, food, etc, and if you rode your bike, there are several establishments that will catch your eye, two by the channel and boat docks downtown, and one as you head south out of town, Hob Knob. I can say that they do their best here. They keep the place clean, they have lots of employees on duty, and overall it is a place I can recommend. It might be something that can happen, but bathrooms could use some serious cleaning last time I was here. I know that the Covid is around, and going to crowded places is not the best feeling, but for me to go out and enjoy the vibe of fresh air coming from the ocean is something that cant be replaced. We drove an our from Northbrook, IL to check out North Beach Park. It's always nice to check out a new area. This park was clean, filled with a variety of people...families, college aged young adults, and middle aged folks free of children for the day (like my husband and I). I loved the mix. It was a popular day at the park and parking was a bit tough, but there is plenty of places to park. We drove around a bit and by the time we got back to the main lot there were some free spots. If there is a bath house we never found it. There were a few porta potties by the playground. There was a restaurant close by with a band and we loved hearing the music. The is a wide open space with tons of volleyball nets and many games were going on. One side of the beach has life guards and one side didn't. It was a nice area to explore. read more

This beach is awesome! It stretches about a half mile long. There's lots to explore here, like secluded lagoon area surrounded by little trees! The beach sand is very soft from afar, but be careful because it's gets rockier the closer to you get to the water! But that's ok, because who doesn't like to go rock searching! The changes houses are open as well. read more

This beach is a gem! There were tons of people there this weekend and I did not see a single person behaving badly. Everyone was having a blast. The beach itself is clean, great sand for sand castles, and there is plenty of room for all. The only minor downside is Lake Michigan is icy cold. read more

This is a beautiful beach that is well kept and has other elements like dunes, pools of water, and beach grass. It's long and wide. Good for walking or swimming. Lots of pretty rocks scattered around. The two times I've been there I've seen sandpipers running along the shore. Although this beach is clean, there are small bits of plastic EVERYWHERE. Please clean up after yourself! Every little piece matters. If you care, bring a bag and clean up just a few small pieces while you're there. Keep our lakes and beaches clean, and help keep our birds and animals healthy by not leaving plastic and other garbage behind!! read more

I love this beach. It's clean, there are seagulls, and not too many people on hot days. The water is way too cold though, but I can appreciate it when it's 90 degrees out. My family live near the steps to at the top of the hill so getting here is a snap. read more

This was an awesome beach. Felt like we were in Florida. The concession stand is cash only and the nearest ATM's are on either end of the street off of the beach, which is very inconvenient. You can bring your own cooler with stuff and beach gear. Lifeguards are a plus. 2 complaints... the bathrooms are ridiculously small there was a volleyball competition and jet ski competition going on at the same time. I understand this brings money in, but it was sooooo loud and obnoxious. Especially the jet skis! They were there all weekend making noise and stinking up the area with their exhaust. Our visit would've been much nicer without the jet skis. They were terrible. There is free parking but with events going on there, you have to park very far away so be prepared to walk with all your stuff. We will visit again but I will be avoiding days with events and bring more cash and getting there earlier for a closer parking space. read more

North Beach is a perfect getaway spot for an afternoon or a few days. Weekends can be busy, but there's always a spot. Weekdays are more family friendly. The Oasis has live music, bathrooms, food, treats, cold beer, and hammocks. This spot is the epitome of summer at the Great Lakes. read more

How can this place be a "Certified Blue Wave" clean beach? The sand was very dirty with broken plastic scattered throughout. Don't even bother staying past 2 PM either. I counted at least a dozen gang signs being thrown up around me as I was walking near the beach pavilion in the afternoon. It got real bad real fast with quite a lot of questionable looking characters. Gang tats, gang handshakes, deals going down, the works. I'm not even talking about the Kid's Cove. That place was full of swearing teenagers too. Extremely disrespectful, and their behavior was definitely not appropriate nor were their conversations for a "kid's" area, when they are talking about how they plan to generate spawns of their own later that night. If I were to consider bringing my family back, which I won't, I would not stay past 2:00 pm. Better yet, skip this place and just go to Sheboygan or another beach where you won't get jumped when the sun goes down. read more
