I'm the latter. Here's my experience in a few words: Admin staff is fantastic. Instructors were rigorous but fair. Some of the students I felt weren't paying attention as much as they should have so they, the instructors (such as Tessa or Jasmine) had to be a little stricter. I feel like if you're going to pay for a class, you'd want to pay attention and not act out like entitled children. You want to go into healthcare, fasten your seatbelts because it wasn't designed to be easy. We're all adults, let's be accountable for our actions and be professionals. Clinicals we're challenging but flexible: we went to a skilled nursing facility and rehab center which was near by (which was very convenient). It was great to put the skills we learned in class and apply it to real world scenarios. CPR certification helped me be prepared for my life in healthcare and bolstered my resume to make me more visible to headhunters. After the program, the school helped me with recommendation letters and referrals to local skilled nursing facilities, home healthcare opportunities, and rehab centers. The other schools rushed their students too much and didn't guide them that well with the process of getting licensed. Vallejo Nursing School is the complete opposite. Josie is very knowledgeable and will teach you all the things you need to know to be licensed and if you are struggling, she's very patient and passionate in helping you. She provides nourishments to keep our brain active because of the long hours and keeps us entertained along the way during clinicals. She makes all of us feel like a family and all of us were very comfortable with each other considering the amount of days of only getting to know each other. It's as if the place is a safe place to be. And I was there during the peak of the pandemic. Now comes for the hard part, review week and the state exam. I have test anxiety and this was my first actual "state" exam so I was so nervous and was counting down the days to get it over with. She has no problem calling someone stupid or how she likes to say "no coconut meat" or "mulala". She had no shame on calling one of the other students "Mulala" and had no shame on doubting one of the students. She continually would say "I think ____ quit" or "I think ____ isn't going to make it as a CNA" as a teacher it is not your job to doubt a student but to encourage them. Also she can't hear a majority of the time which was quite annoying and $1600+ for the program is too much in my opinion, I did the M-F AM class, it was TORTURE. Be prepared to sit in a small room listening to Miss Josie talk on and on and on, about things that shouldn't even be mentioned in a class, AND about very personal things. The scrubs and handbook and fingerprints not being part of the $1600 price is ridiculous. $1600 is already so much and she's too cheap to include the other important necessities!? We also didn't get a graduation, which is ridiculous, just because we were are small class doesn't make us any less deserving of a graduation, she told us we'd take the final exam and have a graduation just for her to offer us a graduation the next day (after the final exam) which is crazy, we don't have free time we have jobs and school and things we need to do, it could've been planned better. Clinicals was actually pretty great, it was refreshing to not be in a lecture for 8 hours a day. I would think twice before choosing this school, I only chose it because it was closest to me, but I'd definitely choose another school if I could start over. Please choose a school that will pay for you state exams, scrubs, handbook, etc. also it's a bit weird how this school is "SO Great" and "Ms Josie is #1" when there's only 11 google reviews and only 6 yelp reviews when this school has been open since the 90's...makes you really wonder.....let's see how long this post lasts. Ms. Didi was the instructor for this program and she truly cares about her students. The program was 21 days and may seem long initially, but it flies by quickly. I met some wonderful classmates along the way and had an overall fantastic experience! Ms. Didi, Mr. Dell, and Dr. Marilyn are knowledgeable, passionate, and truly dedicated to student success. The program offers a great mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice, with small class sizes that allow for personalized instruction. The clinical rotations provided invaluable real-world experience, and the staff was supportive every step of the way. I highly recommend this program to anyone serious about becoming a CNA or looking to gain experience prior to nursing/medical school. I'm giving this place 1 star because the environment is not clean, hygienic, or comfortable for…read morestudents. One of my biggest concerns is there is no access to drinking water. Students are not provided access to a drinking fountain like you would normally expect at a school. The drinking fountain has been blocked off and students are not allowed to use it. The water faucet in the break room is also blocked off. There is also no air conditioning in the classrooms. This makes the classrooms extremely uncomfortable especially because the rooms do not have windows that can be opened for ventilation. Having students spend hours in warm classrooms without easy access to drinking water raises serious concerns about dehydration and student well being and they don't care about it. The overall condition of the building is very poor. There is visible dirt and grime on the windows, ripped carpeting, and the break room is extremely dirty. The refrigerator is messy. The bathrooms are another major concern. They do not clean it daily and the trash piles up. With two classes using the facility at the same time the trash cans can become so full that used toilet paper and other trash end up on the floor. Students pay a significant amount of money to attend this program. At the very least they should be provided with a clean, sanitary, and comfortable learning environment with basic necessities such as access to drinking water, proper air conditioning, and regularly cleaned restrooms. The lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and basic accommodations for students is extremely concerning.

Hey Everyone!!!! OMG…read more- so today I had to re-exam to renew my CNA license. Which was a bummer, because I did not know how to obtain the correct CEU's. I was so nervous, because I haven't took this state exam in 2 years, and I did not know if it was going to be with others, a large size class or anything... just going in blind. I remember when I had took my exam 2 years ago for the first time, I was with my classmates. However, I got here very early. I was the first to arrive. Later, I was greeted and welcomed by a beautiful nice woman name Mrs. Drusilla. She opened up at Vasco Career College, and she then opened the for for me and told me to come inside to have a seat. I was so nervous you guys, and she was very nice it sort of soothed my demeanor. I then checked in with her to begin my written exam first, I explained to her how nervous I was and this was for my renewal. She literally turned to me and looked in my eyes, and stated, " you will be fine ". I honestly felt like this was a sign from god. I then took my exam, in a very quiet room, she went over everything for me in full detail. The rooms were spacious, clean and organized. After, it was time to take my skills exam. Again, y'all, very nervous and I sat in another room, (room C ), while another student finished their skills exams. Once, this student was close to finished, I was asked to be the patient for them. I was introduced to my Proctor, she was so sweet and pleasant. Her name was Mrs. Bella, she reminded me of a sweet family member you just hug when you see them. After, I helped the other student, it was my turn, my pulse was going a 1000x per sec. She told me to calm down, again, nice and pleasant. I finished and felt so good about my outcome with taking both my exams here just due to their personalities and how nice they were. This helped me in ways they will never know I needed, just them being kind. I have not received my results yet, or do not know if I passed, but I wanted to share with everyone a great place to come take you exams and also.... * As I was leaving, Mrs. Drusilla heard me state I was renewing my CNA license and she informed me on next time, what to do in order to receive my continuing education credits, to qualify for approval from California Department of Health. THEY HAVE A WEBSITE, www.cnabase.com ONLINE, and they offer the in person CEU's in person at their school. You guys I could have cried right there. Renewing my license was the hardest thing ever for me, and I felt like it should have not been. I asked everyone and no one could give me the correct information on where to go or how to obtain your continuing education credits. So, I want to share with everyone so they do not go through what I went through, the panic, stress, and anxiety on having to take the state exam over.... you can take these CEU's with them!!! DON'T WALK, RUN TO THEIR CAMPUS.. THEY OFFER SEVERAL OTHER CLASSES AS WELL, CHECK THEM OUT!!!!

I took the evening class because that's the only way I was able to attend class while juggling with work and being a mom. My instructor Bianca was amazing! She guided me and encourage me to do my best especially when I was close to taking my NHA exam. Bianca provided all the resources that I needed when it comes to my assignments, labs, and my exam. After graduating from the program, I was assigned to a clinic for my externship and my instructor also have been keeping in touch with me while I was in my externship. I couldn't have done all of this if it wasn't for my instructor and Mrs. Dru who also went above and beyond, most especially she was so happy for me that I was able to complete my externship. I highly recommend enrolling in Vasco Career College for anyone who is starting out in the medical field.
