Over the years here in Orlando, multiple visits to the ER have taken place - from my kidney situation, migraines, annual checkups, and so on, which require regular doctor visits. She has been extremely patient with me and my wreck-less soul. Let's talk about my most recent visit. Needed to see a doctor ASAP, so called the office on a weekday morning at 8AM and was able to get an appointment within the next hour. Dr. Ho referred me to a third party to get a brain scan, as that would do me best at the time. She was very understanding with my work situation and wrote me a doctor's note and prescribed me with antibiotics with no problem. She is kind. She is smart. She is important. She did not charge me an arm and leg. And shout to her amazing assistants who feed me snacks and keep me hydrated so my blood pressure will be normal on the given day.

I've been seeing Dr Hernandez since I first moved to Central Florida in 2011. She takes time to go over your tests and explain how the results impact your health and then provides you the necessary treatment. Something I appreciate is not having to wait too long once you've checked in. I say this because with many other medical providers you make an appointment and then you have to wait so long to be calls once you're there which makes no sense to me whatsoever. So kudos to them on this! I've also been treated by Sarah Army the PA for Dr. Hernandez when she is not available and she as well provides excellent medical attention. I have Multiple Sclerosis and see my fair share of doctors, so I have specific relative experiences. Dr. Lauridsen is the ONLY doctor I see that knows who I am and remembers previous visits. She actually listens. Her go-to with me has never been "let's throw a pill at it", we discuss all options openly, as a team. She is compassionate and kind and takes a lot of time with each patient. I have never "no showed", and support fully her office policies around that issue. We all sign the policies at the beginning, perhaps they should also be READ by non-compliant patients...? I was pleased to see they had numerous openings and I was able to schedule my appointment at a time convenient with my schedule. I was greeted with courtesy and professionalism upon arrival, and the check-in process was easy and quick. The clinical medical assistant was friendly and welcoming and best of all, the doctor I ended up seeing, Dr. Mena, was exceptional! She was communicative, attentive, and an excellent listener and made my visit feel as if it were "tailor-made". Overall, my interaction with those I encountered (front desk, medical assistants, the doctor, and laboratory techs) were positive. Best of all, I later found out that this clinic is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the community with passion, compassion and integrity, all of which were evident during my scheduled visit. I attended 26Health for a women's empowerment event called "In Full Bloom" this past weekend…read morefocusing on mental health and wellness. It was such a lovely and wonderful event that included varying activities, panels, and open discussions on varying topics involving mental health and wellness. The event was not only engaging but enriching. We were left with a feeling of being truly affirmed, heard and most importantly, SEEN. For women, living in a "man's world," it is vital to have spaces where we not only feel safe, but we must also have the opportunity to be heard and seen! So, I thank the 26Health crew for creating a space to be heard and seen! In addition to that, I also got to learn a bit more about 26Health and their impact within the community. The staff were amazing and kind. Again, I felt safe and welcomed and more importantly I learned about a healthcare provider in the community that helps all regardless of insurance status. They offer STD/STI testing, free of charge. Free birth control options (like condoms). Free test strips to test for drugs, etc. They also offer mental health wellness programs and solutions. While I cannot personally speak to the quality of care provided if you attend 26Health as patient, I can at least note, that based on the event I attended, they put the utmost care and respect into all those they work alongside with. I'll definitely be recommending them to peers (or just anyone I know) looking for an affordable alternative to healthcare and mental wellness in the local Orlando community.
