Was taken here by some local Yelpers and I was in love straightaway :-)))…read more A local winegarten with fabulous food. We had a cold dinner and selected a whole bunch of different salads, meat and dips with bread. Every single salad tasted delicious and the dips were fabulous. I don't remember the names of any of the dishes and if you don't speak the local language or have an understanding of the Austrian food then all you can do is point to the dishes and go for it :-))) They also serve only wine and water that's it. The wines are produced by the winegarten owners and there is a choice of about 4-5 wines to pick from. We had the Rose and Pinot Blanc which were both quite nice and affordable wines. All up dinner cost us about €20 per person including wine and water and, that is a real bargain for a fabulous experience. I would come back here any time and look forward to my next visit :-)

An real insiders'tipp, a real Austrian gem offside the usual typical tourist "Heurigen" area…read more A small, but excellent family Heurigen offering the typical traditional Austrian food and excellent wine, especially the red one is absolutely great. The place can be easily reached by U4, terminal Heiligenstadt and bus line 10A. The ambience is typical Austrian tavern style, but very authentic and haimish. The price for a huge bufett you pay € 28.00, consisting of lots of different appetizers, bread, cheese, Austrian Schnitzel, different types of meat, chicken, a huge variety of salads and side dishes, nudel dishes, etc. They also offer a vegetarian bufett - which is also absolutely awesome, diversified and filling. The service is excellent, fast, knoweldgeable and attentive. The placei itself is very clean. Hats off for the staff and an owner-family, embassadors of best Austrian cuisine!!!!

Compared to all other heurigers I've been to in Vienna, Heuriger Wieninger offers not only a better…read moretasting but also a superior quality food than most of its local competitors. I tasted many dishes and here are the highlights: - Cured ham, fig and balsamic salad - very tasty, which is expected from such dead ringers like the three above. I loved this dish especially in a combination with the tomato salad. - Baked sheep cheese wrapped in cured ham - also very good. Great combination as a stand alone appetizer and goes perfectly with wine (both red and white) on a sunny afternoon. - (Cheese) Spreads - I tasted four different cheese spreads: ham and horseradish; swiss cheese and pumpkin seed; wild garlic and spicy liptauer. All were excellent and should be consumed with an excellent variety of local breads. - Baked meat crepe - excellent. A savory crepe filled with finely minced meat, topped with an egg and cream mixture and baked in the oven. - Tomato salad - excellent. Made with different tomato varieties, which provides a variety of textures and tastes. Seasoned perfectly. - Chocolate crepes - this dish would have worked a lot better if they used a higher quality chocolate and melted it themselves instead what seemed to be a chocolate sauce. All said and done, it was another solid dish that kids of every age would enjoy. This is a heuriger that I look forward to visiting because of the food and not the view. I can't wait to go back.

The spring rolls were good, but they should at least separate the salad in a different bowl, because the dressing gets on the rolls and making them soggy instead of hot and crispy as they should be served. This was a big turn-off for me. However, the crispy duck ramen noodle soup was excellent. It was served very hot, as soup should be served, and it was also spicy as well. It reminded me of the saimin bowls in Honolulu because of the type of noodles used. I liked that the noodles retained their texture, and the broth was spicy and rich in flavor. One of the best bowls of ramen soup I have ever had, I must say. I still have to give this place only three stars, though. Not that it's because it's a bad place, but there were a couple of little things that were disappointing. One, as mentioned above, were the spring rolls. Second, at the very least, I really wish they would have at least left me a couple of extra napkins at the table, which I asked for, but initially was only given one. I'm eating spicy hot soup, and it can get messy, and they should know this. The service at the restaurant itself was average but nothing out of the ordinary. I haven't tried the sushi yet. I'm sure it's alright, though.

This was literally one of the worst experience I had with Sushi…read more About an hour ago I ordered a California Maki. At first, it came without shrimps which was its main ingredient. So They took it away to redo it. The second time it came, it came looking like a punishment. The former sushi set at least had a large chunk of egg inside of it. The second time it came, the egg and the shrimp, two main ingredients, were so tiny it made me laugh. The egg was 1/4 size of what it was before. The shrimp was really....almost non existent. I could only think that they did this on purpose. I ate two pieces, and paid. No one asked what the problem was, or why I didn't eat much of it. I had to buy a bag of chips from a hamburger shop next door afterwards. I am never going back.
