Shoutout to Norfolk Florist for coming through like floral Avengers on my anniversary. I have the planning skills of a goldfish and the panic of a man who definitely forgot to order soon enough. But these floral heroes didn't judge. They just smiled, worked their flower magic, and whipped up a bouquet so beautiful it made my wife tear up--which I think was from happiness and not the memory of last year's gas station roses. I ordered 24 pink roses for a valentine's day gift and what I received were faded, fully open, wilting roses! (See pictures) These pictures were taken upon receipt of the flowers. FYI - my review is for delivery and customer service - my sister loves her flowers. Ordered flowers for my sister because she was getting wisdom teeth out. The driver delivered to the wrong address and when I called to let them know flowers weren't delivered, Chris was telling me they got delivered to the address I provided (not true - address I provided was correct). He even sent me a pic of delivery and I told him it was the wrong address. He then wanted me to have my sister send a pic of her front door or call them to let them know what her front door looked like - um, no, these are a gift because she had wisdom teeth pulled, I'm not having her get involved in making sure you deliver flowers to the correct address. Driver did end up going back and picking them up at wrong address and redelivering but needless to say I will not be using this shop again. Have used them many times in the past but it shouldn't be on me to figure out where flowers got delivered to. Definitely disappointed. read more

Service was horrific! Called and asked if flowers were being delivered as I didn't get an email an hour after thier deadline. They said the arrangement was on the way. I still never recieved an email or a call back after leaving a message later that evening. I had to have my fiance send a picture to verify receipt. Customer service is dismal! read more

We ordered 250 long stemmed wild flowers for my daughter's bridal shower. It was for her "flower bar." We had baby orchids, sunflowers, white and yellow daisies, and other flowers I can't remember. They threw in baby breaths and ferns. The flowers were beautiful. They had everything ready for pick up in orange buckets at the agreed time. The lady who brought the flowers out was very nice. I have nothing negative to say about this company. They had everything ready when promised. They were friendly and quick. They were a bit pricey, over $1000 was spent. I guess that what happens when you say "bridal." I was very impressed with Norfolk Florist. And I'll be coming back for sure. read more

I procrastinated and left ordering the corsage for my son's date to the Governor's School prom (it's always early, probably why I forgot). The Friday before, I contacted Norfolk Florist and they were able to create a GORGEOUS red rose corsage and I was able to pick it up SAME day. Fast forward to the very next weekend - it was NJROTC Military Ball time (I could have sworn they weren't back to back - *sigh*). There I was on the Friday before calling Norfolk Florist...again. And once again they came through for me with a spectacular red mini carnation corsage - it was simply stunning. I haven't had the chance to visit this location in person, but I was the recipient a beautiful bouquet of roses accompanied with a box of chocolates and a plush teddy bear. It's been 10 days and 10/12 roses are still upright and have blossomed oh so wonderfully. The chocolates, I ate less than half of the chocolates... pretty much if the chocolate contained nuts I tried it. I would love to have the box of chocolates that indicate the contents of the candy. The plush teddy bear... super soft, great quality and it's cute. I am a firm believer the giver of a bouquet of flowers determines how beautifully your flowers will blossom. The energy, care, concern, love of the giver... Well my giver must have all the above, or it's just that this location knows how to produce an awesome arrangement. From what I know now, the order was placed and delivered the same day. The request to have the order delivered by noon was fulfilled. Great customer service and quality... First time utilizing Norfolk Florist. It's probably the closest one to my home. So convenience and the fact this Hampton Roads chain has a good reputation played into my decision to give them a shot. I first called about a corsage arrangement for my son. The woman was super nice over the phone. Shortly after I arrived at the store. They are directly behind the 7-11 on North Hampton. The parking lot and walks were tidy. However,several items of debris were directly in front of the door in the landscaping. These were old items, so no excuse. The small store has a lot to offer from pre arranged flowers in vases that are refrigerated, plants, stuff animals and cards. The displays are nicely arranged and everything was neat and clean. There was one customer in front of me and when my turn came I immediately got attention from the sales lady Karen. She showed me a few arrangements on the computer. Surprising is the price point for a single rose corsage of $30. Luckily a yelp check-in would knock 15% off. So in a pinch on time and not feeling like pricing another florist I agreed. Checkout was easy and delivery was promised later in the afternoon. When I arrived back the arrangement was completed and handed to me by the woman who did the arrangement. My son was with me and he liked it. I would return to this floral shop. read more

I live out of state and was in need of a Floral Christmas Bouquet for a family friend. I found Norfolk Florist online and after clicking on a couple of local shops the choice was clear because I really liked the pictures they provided on their website. I ended up purchasing the Dancing Sugar Plums bouquet and the checkout process was a breeze, making their website was easy to navigate. After the flowers were delivered, I received a confirmation email with the invoice stating the bouquet had indeed been delivered. The flowers I chose was a bit pricey, however, I am very picky with ordering flowers and don't mind paying a little more for them to create a beautiful bouquet and a happy smile on the receiving end. My only recommendation is I put in the Special Notes Section that I would like a confirmation text message with a picture of the bouquet left on the front porch that was not fulfilled. Overall, I was very happy with my purchase and if I am ever in need of more flowers in the Norfolk area this is my go to florist shop. read more

Living here in Los Angeles, I find I pretty much use Yelp for everything, which I also stated on a previous review. Seems Yelp is very slowly catching on elsewhere throughout the country. But none the less I decided to find a florist near my nieces home in Norfolk using Yelp. Although there was only one review, it was a 5 star, which got my vote. I had originally called and thought of sending a potho's plant to my niece, since I have had such good luck with this plant myself. But after speaking with Sue at Norfolk Florist she recommended the butterfly basket, which had a variety of plants with some daisy's thrown in. This way later on, if my niece wanted too, she could separate them into different plants as they grew. Sounded like a winner to me! My brother let me know the following day that the basket had arrived, and took a a photo for me to see. My niece thought it was beautiful and so did I. I guess they thought I would never see the final product live and in person, but I did and it was nothing like what I ordered or pictured. After a few moments of what to the world probably looked like ponderous and deep thought (but was really utter confusion), I chose a nice butterfly/basket arrangement with a big sunflower right in the middle and placed the order while checking in on Yelp. Hey, great, an instant discount for checking in!!! The lady behind the desk retrieved a fresh arrangement for me and I was on my way. I called Norfolk Florist the morning of a memorial I was attending to inquire about the pricing of roses, greenery, etc.... The woman who helped me was helpful, so I decided to pick up flowers later in the day (she said I could just come in and order). I went in and asked for white roses. The woman who was helping me didn't ask me if I wanted any greenery with the roses, just started wrapping them up. By the time I realized she was doing that, it was a bit too late and I needed to run more errands so I ended up not saying anything. When I checked into Norfolk Florist on Yelp, I saw that there was a 10% discount so I asked the woman if I could use that. She said sure but gave me a bit of an attitude when she told me how much I had saved. I just laughed it off because it was whatever but what?! My dear Husband made a huge mistake at Christmas and Norfolk Wholesale saved him!! My husband wanted to overwhelm me with flowers two days in a row before Christmas and having used ProFlowers in the past he placed orders two weeks before only to find out that ProFlowers is now part of FTD and the issues he had when the flowers did not arrive until 8:00pm on the 23rd and then another arrangement was to arrive the next day as a surprise was cancelled. We discovered that ProFlowers outsourced their delivery to Chesapeake--we live in Ghent but so why Chesapeake???This was news. We live literally five minutes from Norfolk Wholesale and why would my husband order from ProFlowers when he could have easily placed an order from Norfolk Wholesale. I love my husband and he would send me flowers from ProFlowers when he was out of town or sending to friends. We have ordered from Norfolk Wholesale before and always so professional and on the 24th he went into Norfolk Wholesale Floral and initially tried to order but was told it was too late until the main floral arranger took over and I received a most beautiful rose arrangement that I still have. I cannot praise them enough and will never ever use anyone else. As a plus the arrangement I received was half the price of the Proflowers two arrangements. HIghly recommend!! read more

My husband, who is in the Navy and often away, frequently used Norfolk Florist to send flowers to me. The arrangements are usually nice and at least remotely close to what the pictures on the website look like. This time, though, we had a horrible experience. My husband ordered an "English Garden" floral arrangement for my birthday. What I received was an incredibly heavy potted plant. Of course, I don't know what my husband intended to send me, so I sent him a picture and thanked him the lovely "plant." Mind you, I hate plants and thought this was an odd choice by him, but I thought maybe he was just thinking outside the box. Needless to say, he responded that this wasn't even remotely what he ordered. He sent a picture of the English Garden arrangement, which was beautiful and something I would have loved. Being that he's on a Navy ship and can't exactly call, I had to call them and explain that this is not what he ordered. They acted like "oh yeah, sorry. no big deal. We'll pick up the wrong one tomorrow and get you the right one." Total lack of concern that they just ruined my birthday gift from my husband, and no care that they're putting me out in that I now have to sit around the next day waiting for them to deliver the right one. (Not to mention expecting me to lug that incredibly heavy wrong plant back to the door. Seriously, that thing probably weighs 40 pounds. The delivery guy didn't even bring it to the door at first because it was so heavy. He wanted to wait to make sure someone was home before lugging it up.) I was really shocked that they were so unconcerned about their own error. At least offer to take 10% off or upgrade it to a bigger version or something. At that point I got frustrated and said to just refund his money. She then offered other solutions, but why weren't they offered at the beginning? The "no big deal" attitude and the expectation that I should just wait around the day after my birthday for them to fix something with no attempt to try to make up for their error was truly awful customer service in my opinion. These flowers were delivered approximately 15 hours ago. As you can see the mums, which by the way should be the longest living of all the flowers that were delivered, are dead. This is an unbelievable way for a florist to do business. One can only think the business must be in financial trouble since they closed so many other locations and now are delivering Dead Flowers. I'm still trying to find out why the Valentine's Day flowers I ordered for my wife last Saturday (February 9th) never arrived yesterday on Valentine's Day. I placed the order on Saturday, paid $4 extra shipping to have them delivered on Valentine's Day, received a confirmation email assuring me that they would be delivered as expected and that I would be notified in the event of any issues with delivery. No flowers were delivered, neither my wife nor I received any notification of any issues with the delivery process, my credit card company authorized the payment on Saturday and yet they tell me now that the charge is still pending and that I need to contact you to find out why.
