Review for Flowers by Wayne Jones Sept 2025 Our family recently worked with Wayne Jones for floral arrangements during the planning of a loved one's funeral. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing in several respects. During the consultation, we specified exactly what we wanted and requested "the best" quality. We did **not** expect that to translate into unjustified overcharging. Later, when we checked pricing elsewhere (at Daughters Flowers in Virginia Beach), we found nearly identical items for about half the cost. Although we negotiated with Mr. Jones and lowered the price significantly, it was very clear we were being overcharged. When I came to pay, I realized I had left my credit card at home. To avoid delaying him, I left **$1,400 in cash** as a temporary hold and said I'd return within the hour to pay by card. When I came back, Mr. Jones told me the cash had already been deposited and could not be returned. After insisting, his wife eventually handed the money back, but only after asking whether they could "please keep the cash" because they "really needed it." I said absolutely not, I'm visiting from out of state and want my cash. The entire transaction felt unprofessional and manipulative. That said, despite the flawed payment handling and dishonest behavior, the floral arrangements themselves were beautifully executed, the design, freshness, and presentation were excellent. I strongly advise anyone considering Flowers by Wayne Jones to (1) get a fully detailed written agreement **before** paying anything, (2) verify competitive pricing with other florists, and (3) never agree to large cash "holds". Thanks for quickly correcting an early delivery! Such great customer service and beautiful arrangements. From my mother in law who we were sending flowers for her birthday, somehow they were delivered early, with an email to advise issue, they resolved! "This gorgeous arrangement was just delivered by Wayne Jones, the very best in Virginia Beach, as a replacement for the beautiful arrangement that arrived a week early. My neighbor enjoyed the first arrangement while I was away..." I am so appreciative that the florist resolved with no issues. Nothing like using a well known established florist. read more

I need to give this shop a 5 star. Mr. Jones was a amazign to me and my family when we went to pick out arrangement for our mothers funeral. I told him the kind of flowers she liked and he offered suggestions on how to make it look amazing. We took his ribbons and each sibling put a message on each ribbon. I can't wait to see see the final results. He was very sweet and very patient with 6 people throwing out ideas. And farewells is with a sweet hug as he offered condolences. We are Latin people so we welcomed this hug. I even went back with a missing sibling that wasn't there the first time. She didn't luck out on a nice hug. Very genuine florist. During a extremely emotionally difficult time, I required a floral casket spray. I was at a loss of who could design a floral arrangement to honor a special loved one, my sister. On a recommendation, I went to Wayne Jones. The universe clearly guided me to him as it was noted he had done the florals for my sister's wedding 26 years earlier.. Silence met with humility and reality met, affirming that I was in the right place... Mr. Jones and his wife were personable, professional and were experts in assisting me in making a selection of a vision that I wanted. They were not only helpful in picking out the florals but they made suggestions in fabrics and decorative ties to pull the floral design together. The final floral design was a three piece design with sheer fabric spray and off white tassels. I must say Thank You so much Mr Jones and his staff. Unfortunately we lost our son. We are total devastated. We wanted some special flowers in honor of our Son. I called and Mr Jones answered and let me tell you he was so understanding. Mr Jones made our sons flowers in our son favorite color. Mr Jones stopped everything that he was doing to make them for us. Our son was on Active Duty in Navy. Knowing that Mr Jones has also served our Nation means the world to me. When I picked them up. He give my the biggest Hug and as he hugged me he said a prayer. I was full of tears. He gave me his personal cell. And I will never forget the reason for his personal cell phone. It's for when we are thinking or missing our son that he will personally deliver a rose at our sons marker. This kind of customer service is special. It is not always easy to find a florist that delivers top quality, gorgeous, ridiculously fresh flowers time after time. Fortunately, my boyfriend has found flowers-Wayne Jones. (In a fun twist, my boyfriend's name is also Wayne, so perhaps that is the connection.) Over the course of the past year, my bf has ordered from FWJ four times--twice for major romantic holidays--and I've always received the most gorgeous arrangements of long-lasting, very fresh, and perfectly arranged flowers. My Wayne lives in Idaho and orders over the phone, so it is important to him that they have a wide selection of exotic flowers and are able to send custom arrangements without the delay of special ordering from their suppliers. FWJ has never disappointed us! Once they were even able to fill a rush order the same day when there was an emergency situation that had to be made up right away. ;) Perhaps my favorite thing about this florist is that it is family owned. Mr. Wayne Jones has personally taken phone calls and filled orders and even doled out much needed advise to my well-meaning, but occasionally clumsy boyfriend. We went down to Virginia Beach to get married, found this little shop while driving around and decided to use them for the bridal bouquet. They were more than helpful and my soon to be wife immediately regretted her decision on the color of the roses while in the car after. I called and she had already put together the first one so I asked if she could just do another and I would gladly pay for both. Upon arrival to pick up the flowers she presented 2 bouquets that both looked great and when I went to pay for the second she would not accept it, she smiled very genuinely and just said "Good luck and congratulations!" She wouldn't even accept a $20 bill I left on the desk. It was a great experience and they deserve future business from anyone who reads this. Thanks again!!! read more
