I participated in clean up for two days in the Fall. I have been a volunteer for city parks for years. There is so much potential here with beautiful grounds, even new play equipment and shelters. The grounds are maintained by City of Norfolk. The location is in front of the Virginia Zoo and they have there own parking. Unfortunately a large homeless element can be seen early mornings and later in the evening so be aware. Not a park I now frequent with older children, but an option for many Norfolk residents since it's one off the largest.

We've been coming here for years and it always feels like a win, whether the Tides do or not! Tickets are super reasonably priced, which makes it easy to say yes. It's a wholesome, easy night out for the whole family cheering on our home team with the Elizabeth River glimmering in the background. The mascots can usually be spotted hanging out near 3rd base in the concourse for a photo op. Lots of tasty options when it comes to food, and I appreciate that there's usually something for everyone. We'll keep coming back, season after season, cheering loud for our Tides and soaking up that community spirit. The bathrooms are clean and were regularly cleaned while the conference was in progress. I wish there was a water bottle filling station, but the water fountains did the trick. Like with most conferences, the chairs can grow to be uncomfortable after a while. The audiovisual equipment worked great and no one seemed to have tech issues. Now, unlike most conferences, the temperature inside was perfect. I also liked how close the parking garage was to the building, which made finding check-in easy. Since this is an arena, there were people playing basketball during the time we were there and they rang the buzzer a few times, which made the whole room jump every time (it became quite funny after a while).

More seating, more vendors, bigger sound just an amazing stadium! There are at least three student sections and about three levels of viewing pleasure. My only unsatisfactory concern about the stadium, while the viewing board is beautiful and the picture is great, there's seating behind the viewing board and those sitting there cannot see the picture. They're only able to see the back of the board. Throughout the game, the announcer directed everyone's attention to the board, I'm sure this was disappointing to fans because they cannot see it at all if they're sitting in sections such as N123. Hopefully, the school or those powers that be will fix this very soon. Parking... Tailgating... no issues at all. Entry into the stadium was smooth. We arrived about 40 minutes before kickoff and our experience was stellar! Super happy for my alma mater... go big Blue!!

Year 2 of playing in this league and we love it!…read more Lots of fields, coaches are all great. Teams all have appropriate equipment. Lots of local small businesses as sponsors for the teams. Registration fees are fair and you have the option to fundraise with candy to help the association. Every registered child gets a team shirt and hat. Lots of play time! Currently in the T-ball league and the coaches are great at teaching the fundamentals as well as preparing kids for the next phase - coach pitch. Concessions are run by volunteer parents and are open for every game. CASH ONLY! lots of choices from bagged chips to fresh made burgers and hot dogs. When spring really hits BRING THE BUG SPRAY! Fields tend to get small swarms of biting gnats. Feels like a family here. But just like a family there tends to be a bit of miscommunication concerning events, sign ups, equipment, etc. It's normally fixed in a timely manner but it's easy to get frustrated and can be very confusing for first year families unfamiliar with any sport leagues. We will continue to be patrons of this league. The very minor negatives are far, far outweighed by the absolute joy my kid gets participating in this league.
