We were able to snag some last-minute opening night tickets for the Admirals game. We were seated fairly high in section 216, and the view was fantastic. We had a clear view of the entire rink, and we're still close enough to see the action. My kids (12 and 11) had a blast! Prices on food and beverage are high, but on par with other sporting event venues. Parking in the lot directly adjacent to the Chrysler Center was $10, which was reasonable for the proximity. Traffic was a bit heavy, and it took us 20 minutes to exit the parking garage, but that was also not unexpected. Overall, a great family experience that we will absolutely be looking to do again. read more

This was our first visit to Scope to watch the admirals play and we loved it. We're hockey fans from IL and attended many games back home. Now that we call this area home we want to support the admirals. Parking was very inexpensive and easy to navigate. I purchased the tickets online so we get through the line quickly. The seats in section 122 row D were perfect! We saw everything. The only suggestions are finding a better way to get online tickets and not pay such a high service fee. Holy cow Ticketmaster. First time going to the Admirals game. It was great. I like minor league hockey over the NHL. It is just good fun. However the food is terrible. I took away one star because of the food. I got a brisket sandwich because the workers said it was good. It was not, it was flavorless and messy I did not enjoy it. My wife ordered a slice of pizza that wasn't all the way cooked through. Just plain bad. If I go back I'll bring my own snacks and eat after or before. The game and it's presentation was great though. We will go to more games. read more

If there was an option for a negative star I would put that. I don't normally give bad reviews, but this one has me infuriated. I ordered a couple of items from the online store back in December of 2023. I live out of state and wanted to show my Norfolk Admirals pride where I live. I received notification in January of this year that my items have shipped and gave me tracking info. After that I didn't think anything of and as a normal human life got busy and I forgot all about it until May of this year. I was looking through my emails and found the email notification of the shipment made in January and clicked the tracking info. When it popped up, the message hadn't changed as it still stated that the label was created but no shipping information was given. I emailed the Sales Manager and didn't hear anything for over week. I emailed again and finally was told that they were having issues in their office and they would get the shipment out asap. I, again, trusted the process and left it alone. Again, life got busy and I forgot about the order until a month ago when I realized after starting to watch the Ads play, that I still hadn't received my order. I reached out again and was given the same excuse of office issues and they would ship it out the next day. This time, I waited a couple of days to ensure the shipping was updated and when I looked a couple of days later, the status had never changed from "label created but not shipping information available. I reached out to the sales manager and asked for an updated tracking number and didn't hear back from him. This time I was starting to get very upset and so I notifice the BBB. They, then, sent notice to the company and they responded the next day stating that my original order was now "out of stock"!!!! Seriously!!!! They did ask if I wanted a refund or for me to select new items. I took screen shots of the new items I wanted and sent it to the sales manager. Again, no response for two weeks. I reached out the BBB and they said that they couldn't do anything and I have yet to receive any information on my order. I'm extremely disappointed in how I have been treated. This has put a very bad taste in my mouth for the business and I am almost to the point of not being an Ads fan because of this!!!!! read more

I may not be the best person to review the Admirlas since I rarely attend games. Over the 10 years we have been a resident of HR I have probably attended a half dozen matches. Last night when I attended it was with a group using there "Bucks for Pucks" program. This is a program that the NA use as a fundraising arm to assist organizations. So in that respect the Tidewater Aquatic Club was grateful. The game started at 7:30 PM, I arrived at 6:45 and the Scope garage was already full which seemed strange to me. There is plenty of parking every where and the next closest lot is the Wells Fargo. This is where we elected to park and it worked well. The flat $5 events fee was par for the area. If you able get to the Scope by 6:30 PM to watch warm-ups. You may just get a puck souvenir. Probably the last time I was in the Scope was four years ago for either the circus, or a NA game, I cannot recall. Nothing has changed and the venue is OLD! Renovations are necessary in my opinion to keep this a viable option for the city of Norfolk. Most noticeable was in the restrooms where they were as clean I suppose as you could get, but just mangy. The product on the ice is all that matters to many, but I looked a little deeper. Last night's match was with the Portland Pitrate's. The Admirals fought the good fight to the end, but lost 2-1. I do not know the game well, but always enjoy myself and you can see well from pretty much any place in the venue. The Admirals have been consistently good and for that our area should support them. Concessions are plentiful and I always find the lines to be not too bad, unlike the Tides game. Also, all the vendors take credit cards unlike the Tides. This is a service that I always appreciate. My favorite vendor without a doubt was the Brisket/Pulled pork guy at Sec 216. I had the Brisket combo which was so off the hook good I could not believe it. The sides of macaroni and slaw with house sauce were phenomenal. I also found one vendor with New Belgium Flat Tire. Locally brewed O'Connors and Smarthmouth were available. The value for a family is good. Ticket prices are reasonable, parking is fair, food is...well these events are always over priced. So try your best to sort through the best value and know that it is a family outing and you will need to spend some $$$. Come on out and support the Norfolk Admirals. read more

Such a great time!! Welp...thanks to Yelp I can check this venture off my 'Bucket List'...thanks Yelp!! This was my first game (AHL) and I loved every moment of it... from start to finish! Getting into the venue was smooth sailing. I arrived about 7:15 pm and the game started at 7:30 pm. There was practically no waiting in line and the ticket checkers definitely moved the line swiftly with a smile. If you have a purse, backpack or oversized bag, they peek and feel to make sure no funny business is going on. But once you get in (The Scope - where the games are played) you immediately see the vendors...food, drinks, spirits and souvenirs. Once you grab your peanuts and drink or whatever...enter into the gates! To my surprise it was not cold at all in the venue (ice hockey)! It actually was quite comfortable. Nevertheless, this was my first time, so I may have been lucky this night, but I would suggest you wear a jacket or dress in layers to prevent the chills. And seating is pretty tight so body heat helps as well. I assume you know the person seated next to you. We sat in section 113...great seats! No binoculars needed here! I tell you to witness hockey on TV is nothing like witnessing it live!! I mean from the hard hits to the plexiglass (I think that's what it's called) - the shields used around the arena, to the fans shouting rants, chants and wuuuwhooos...the experience was amazing! Our seats were so great that we witnessed a few players (from the other team) in the box. It was something like a 'timeout box' (room for one only) when they did something wrong the ice. Perhaps a penalty was granted and the opponent sits out for a period of time. But this is the kicker...so the person is in let's call it "timeout" and a young lady (about 15 years old) gets up and yells...hey look at Brad and everyone looks at Brad and she said something - hehehehhehe OMG...it so caught me off guard I cannot remember what she said, but whatever it was evidently it goes on all the time. The fans yelled back at her, but all I could do was lol (laugh out loud) it was soooooooooo funny!!! So I'm guessing this was the fans (the home team) way of teasing the other player (opponent in timeout)! Hilarious!!! But I love a group chant :) Rah Rah Rah... It was definitely exciting when the home team (Admirals) scored. There is a chant that is accompanied by music..something like...YOU SUCK!! :) LOL omg..this was funny too!!! It's like they score but the entire audience now makes fun at the other team! But all the while I was so into the game and wondered why I didn't have interest in attending prior to this night. Well needless to say, this was the Admirals last game in Norfolk, VA. Sad to see them go, because I am sure this was great business for the area. But at least they went out with a win and couple of great fights (so I heard). Well if you can, make it out to a hockey game, I believe you will definitely enjoy it. The Admirals are the Anaheim Ducks' AHL affiliated team. The tickets are cheap ($14 for lower bowl), and the fans are passionate about their team. I came with a group of 30 other fans to see our Ducks play the Washington Capitals the night before. Norfolk was only 4 hours away by bus, so we drove to support our "baby" Ducks, as they had a home game against the Worcester Sharks. We were in section 121 and I thought the lower bowl seats were a bit hard to see the other end of the rink. In a small arena, I would have been happier going a bit higher. But at $14, what's there to complain about? The seats are tight, and your knees will hit the seat in front of you. People stand up in the middle of play, and there's plenty of loud fans and kids. For a Saturday night, attendance was about 60% full. The fans were loud, and cheered for the team, but it was hard to keep the spirit going as the Sharks beat the Admirals 4-0. Overall a great arena. The corridors are narrow, and it can get congested when people are lining up for food or drinks. Prices are a bit cheaper than the NHL arena, with nachos going for $5. Worth the drive from DC! read more

Let's GO ADMIRALS! Recently went with some friends to my second game at the Norfolk Scope and we had the best time. The Admirals played the "Solar Bears" and won 6-3. It was an intense game, there were even a few fights which really hyped the crowd up. The fans really have a lot of pride for their team and everyone was in Admirals shirts, cheering, they did the wave like 7 times. I got a yellow Admirals shirt and it was $20. It was my first time and last time to see the Norfolk Admirals, they are moving. That being said I found the venue to be quite comfortable for ice hockey. I know the game well, I married and divorced it 29 years ago. A new rule I learned was an extra 2 minutes penalty for blood on the ice. Prices for beverages and food are off the wall. However, people are paying it so I suspect an $8.00 beer and a $7.00 6 oz cheap wine works well for the Scope. Our seats were very comfortable however there was a problem with condensation on the glass (well, it's plastic) but it wasn't horrific. We might go back when the new team arrives. read more

I love hockey. Old Time Hokey with Eddie Shore kinda hockey. I would stop and watch people shooting an orange ball around in the street if I was lucky enough to see it and have a better day because of it. There is a lack of hockey love down here. Thankfully I have the Admirals. The "even better" is that I have no opinion on Tampa Bay Lightning aside from respecting them as professional hockey players. If they were an affiliate of a team I did not like (Chicago Blackhawks, The New Jersey Devils and the list goes on...) I would have some internal conflicts of fandom. I am a Flyers fan, and I miss my Bullies more than you will ever know. But at the end of the day Hockey is Hockey, and when in Norfolk... "The Good" - They have a good team. The guys play hard and the guys that need to learn more get better with every game or they will be on the pine until they can get better. - They play hard and you can tell they love the game... you cannot ask for anything more. Have a passion for what you do. - Beer selection. At First glance all they have is Bud and Bud Light...Wrong Sir! (or Lady!) Wrong! Keep walking around the Scope until you find the other vendors, do not be fooled by the mass market beer guys. Get a Straub, keep walking and you will find the vendors that have fridges with Corona, Blue Moon and a large selection of others including wine. They bonus point goes to this one where they have limes and oranges for their respective beer friends. - Decent Stadium with an intimate feel. It reminds me of Madison Square Garden in the way that no matter where you sit you feel like you are close to the action. I have not had a bad seat yet. - You always get a color guard for the National Anthem. This is a great tribute and always cool to see and will never get old. - Funnel Cake for $5.00 !! - The price of the tickets was reasonable to inexpensive. - Buy a program, learn their names and be a fan. "The Meh" - The Baltimore contingent that was in attendance in the cheap seats, What??? I am not a fan of the Caps ;) "The Bad" - Not enough TVs in the corridors. Still a great thing to do in Hampton roads. Advanced tickets are near 13 bucks or 17 at the door. Every seat is a good seat here. Best vendor is the brisket cart near sec 215. Hand cut brisket with two sides for 8.50. I had the av and cheese and coleslaw. Not bad and way better than fries. There is also a fresh burrito cart near the same cart. The seats have an okay price tag on them if you're military of a student, and depending on the event but it's not majorly overpriced. The price for the food and drinks are outrageous... well, other than those beef brisket nachos. Those are on point! The fact they serve craft beer here is a plus but it is pricey. This was my first and last time attend the Norfolk Admiral's game VS Lehigh Valley Phantoms. It was an exciting game 4-2 win Norfolk. My son enjoyed the popcorn and the balloon sward while I enjoyed a nice cold beer. It was his first time so his eyes was glued to the rink. I'm one of those girls who is just not into sports (sorry feminist movement) however I love, love, love going to see the Norfolk Admirals. It is by far my favorite sport to go watch and I can even sometimes watch hockey on TV. Let me be upfront though, there is only one real reason why I love hockey games - the fights. And the Admirals will not disappoint you in this area. There have been times where I have not even been able to get into my seat at the start of a game before a fight is breaking out on the ice. Some refs will really let the guys fight it out, while others will break it up almost immediately. Hello buzz kill. Seriously though, these games are great. They aren't expensive even for the close up seats. They're always entertaining, all the fans get very into the game. You are able to purchase beer, popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, etc so food and drink is never a problem. I always go to several games a season, there are actually season pass tickets that are available if you find yourself to be a super fan. Bring your kids, bring your friends, bring your giant air-horn...just go to an Admirals game and enjoy! read more

Totally irritated that the upon arriving at the game, no one was here. It took us 10 minutes to find out that the game was postponed due to unsafe ice conditions. And they only posted it 50 minutes ago. You'd think they should have known earlier today and perhaps put it on the early news. I guess it's time to check out all the new bars downtown. It's been a long time since my last review of the Admirals and many things have changed, some for the better. Pros: The seats have been replaced and are now clean and very comfortable. The food is pretty darn good, and I would happily pass up dinner at a nearby restaurant and opt to eat at the game. They serve fresh brisket, great burritos, burgers, specialty foods, and the regular assortment of arena foods. It is also really easy to get tickets now minutes before game time because the team had dropped down a league to ECHL from AHL. Cons: The skill level has sure dropped since the transition to ECHL, but it is actually pretty entertaining from the schadenfreude standpoint. At last Friday's game there was no shortage of whiffed shots, broken sticks, missed passes, etc. The orioles fans are still embarrassing themselves by interrupting the national anthem with their shouts of "O." Iwas also pretty darn surprised that the ticket prices were $20, thought they should be a bit lower for what you were getting. Summary: I still think an Admirals game was well worth the money from the standpoint of an occasional form of entertainment. read more
