We have never been paddle boarding before but have always wanted to try it. Kelly was so kind and patient when we initially inquired about the rental process. When we decided to go ahead and take the plunge and just do it making the appointment was very simple. The website was user friendly and easy to navigate. We showed up for our appointment and she had everything ready to go. She made sure that our life jackets were on properly and did not skip a single step. Her instructions and demonstrations on how to actually use the paddle board were easy to follow and very thorough. She also made sure that we were comfortable with our paddle boards before leaving. Out on the lake we got to see SO much wildlife, it was nothing like being in a motorized boat that's for sure. I have never considered myself athletic by any means and am far from being in shape but thanks to the equipment she provided as well as amazing instructions and answering all of my questions I can say I mastered the paddle board in no time! We rented a randem kayak on a random summer weekday and had an awesome time on the 12 mile (4 hr)…read morepaddle. I recommend reservations ahead of time to make it easier, and you need to start the 4 hr trip before 11am. Bring some beach shoes and a hat - the sun gets hot at times, but the water is perfect for a swim. The beach shoes are helpful walking on the river bottom. Our tandem kayak was pretty stable, had lots of room for two people and a soft sided cooler. Bring a water proof bag or at least a zip lock bag to put your cell phone in. The first 3.5 hours of the trip is awesome - lots of quiet paddling, easy current and frequent sightings of wildlife. The last 30 minutes is a straight up paddle in an urban environment - a fair amount of work, not much current and can be windy in spots. Overall, great trip. Would recommend

We were just given an overview of the route, handed life jackets, escorted to the kayaks, and pushed off. No one told us how to properly fit the jackets or even cared if we were wearing them. They didn't give instructions about paddling or recovering from capsizing to the newbie paddlers. I knew what to do but felt badly for people who didn't know how to kayak.
