I have a tiny front lawn that is shared with my neighbor. Because our lawns are so small, I manage both. I hired Nordic Lawns to come and edge both of our front lawns. When I booked the appointment I told the gal multiple times that I wanted the combined lawns done. She told me that the guy would call me before coming out and to tell him then. He came out unannounced and only did my lawn. It looks ridiculous having only the one portion done. I called to see if the guy could come back out at his convenience, like if he was out there for another job and just finish the lawn. Different gal on the phone when I called. She told me the guy was done and that there were no notes in my booking of my request or even a request to have him call me before he came out. That she'd make a note of it for next year. They made it like I was MY fault and were not considering anything to make it right. Small issue, not made right and because of it, I will not use them again. read more

Hired Nordic to do our small lawn. They mowed it 4 times. Only 1 mowing was acceptable, the other 3 times the people were in such a rush that they failed to cut all of the lawn. They left tufts of grass sticking up, racing stripes and didn't even bother to mow a section. When I called the office to protest such poor work Patrick informed me his best workers did my lawn, that I was only paying 45.00 for a 75.00 dollar job. It took the workers less than 20 minutes to mow/weed eat the lawn, that includes unloading the mower. They no longer do my yard. read more

The work done could not have been worse! I hired this company to build two parallel raised bed gardens. They billed for three skilled, experienced workers but showed up with ten boys and men who appeared to be day laborers with no skills, no tools, no supervision, and no interest in doing a good job. There were OSHA violations that they refused to correct when I pointed them out. Also, Nordic Lawn employees stole the equipment I allowed them to borrow! My two letters to Derek and Rachel Nord were not acknowledged. The complaints I filed with Better Business Bureau and Alaska Department of Law Consumer Protection Division were not acknowledged. Derek will not dispatch actual skilled workers to correct the totally irregular raised beds (they need to be aligned so they are straight, square, and level). And Derek will not give me a full refund and/or pay for the new shovel I had to purchase after his workers stole mine. Today I cancelled the credit card payment. The work was terrible and Nordic Lawns refuses to make it right. This company and owner Derek Nord are completely unethical, dishonest, and disrespectful. They fired the employee who bid and set up the work (Chris Scott) and replaced him with somebody even worse (Ryan Sheldon). read more

Their snow plow driver repeatedly damaged my lawn with the blade of his plow. Then he also destroyed the downspout and splash block next to my garage. When I called to complain and ask for replacements they ignored me. They finally did send someone to patch the damaged turf, but the management was indifferent to the damaged downspout. All this after many years as their loyal customer. I dropped them and never looked back. Now I see they quit the snow plowing part of their business. I wonder why? read more

Do not use. It's resolved ,but unfortunately in summer of 2021 they had an employee who did a poor job weed wacking and mowed so quick the lack of care showed. Worst of it he was a no show for a weed spray and I to fight the owners twice and send security footage before they would believe me. read more

I have to give one star because they did contact me the day after I emailed them requesting a quote for some light yard/landscaping work. Two days after they contacted me, an estimator (who is also the landscaping manager per his signature block) showed up at my property - who I accommodated at 7:30 pm. After his review of the job, he only verbalized an approximate cost of the work. I asked for a quote in writing and he said he'd email it that evening. It never showed up. The next morning I contacted the estimator asking for the quote. He apologized with an excuse and said he would have it to me "by 7or 8 pm". Again, it never showed up. Finally, after nearly a week from my first contact with the company, and two days of promises of a quote that never came (a very, very small job of lawn care in a very small yard), I decided to write the company about my displeasure with their customer service and to cancel my request for a quote. I normally don't give negative reviews, but it was this last issue that sent me over the edge. The company NEVER RESPONDED to my email. They did not apologize, they didn't offer to make it right, they did not acknowledge I even existed. I know I had the correct email as it is the same one I used that they responded to when I first asked for a quote. And, to further add insult, two full days after submitting my email of displeasure, the landscaping manager FINALLY provided me the written quote as if nothing had ever occurred. Apparently, he didn't "get the memo" that I had canceled my request. A company that cannot provide a reasonable, timely quote or even respond with a "we're too busy at this time", doesn't deserve my business. Extremely unprofessional all the way around and not the small business, can-do attitude I would expect in today's environment. Consider another company. read more

These guys have done our home snowplowing for years. They always do a really great job! This is the first time I used them for summer work. My yard had grown up big time. It was a jungle of sprouts. 1,440 sf of grass whipping and 4,700 sf of light brushing (little over 1/2" dia). 2 guys worked hard for 2.8 hours. Again, they did a fantastic job. I used them for spring clean-up for my back yard. I waited a bill from them for more them 2 months . The job they did was average. They never contacted my by phone or mail with an invoice. After two months I received a bill past due, with 25 dollars late fee. This is predatorial and unethical business practice. I will never use them again. read more

Awful Business. Their first service on my lawn wasn't complete (missed many areas of grass and overgrown weeds). Called to ask if there was something wrong and received an apology with a guarantee those areas would be taken care of next visit. Next visit happened and they got some of the missed areas before, but still left a large area untouched. Third time should be a charm, even with a nice note asking to take care of that specific area, but no, they didn't touch it again. On top of that, things were removed and misplaced in my yard and not put back even remotely close to where they should be. Overall, complete dissatisfied with their work ethic, and ability to perform their main job of mowing grass. Do yourself a favor and find a kid in the neighborhood looking for some extra cash to help you. Anyone 10 years old or younger could do a better job than Nordic Lawns. Pathetic... read more

I am rather bummed out to see that one of the employees used a company truck to take up space in a handicapped spot, then laugh about it when being confronted. That shows zero respect for the company, so tell me, how does that reflect in the work? We have regretted shopping around before spending almost a thousand bucks for rocks. Nordic Lawns was our first choice, and we looked forward to giving our business to a local company whose work should have been top par for the price. There are weeds growing up around the sides now. The job could have been done better. I know we won't be repeat customers, and I don't feel good about recommending this place. I think the bill paid for the job will be hurting a lot longer than I originally thought. All those yellow cards are good for now, is the mixed paper recycle bin at the recycle center. read more

Every winter, they plow my neighbor's snow from their driveway onto my lawn. Every year, I have to call them and ask them to stop. Sometimes they stop for a little while, but they always do it again. They don't seem to have any respect for people's property. I understand that my neighbors don't have a good place to plow snow, but that doesn't mean they can use my lawn. Some years the grass gets torn up, other years it just takes a long time for the mound they build up to melt. Management seems to somewhat care, but that attitude doesn't extend to the drivers. I think they just want to get the job done and move on. I will never use them for any lawn/snow removal service. read more

This company is awful!! They would go rogue and not show up to mow our lawn. They'd say they were coming back and never show with no word as to why they didn't show. They would often refuse to mow our backyard, saying 'too much pet waste.' After moving a pet waste service 3 times to accommodate them, they still refused to mow. They also kept charging for no shows and FULL mowing! Stay away from this company. They aren't interested in actually working just taking money!! AWFUL!!! read more

When they came out to do a spring cleanup on our front and backyard, they did a phenomenal job. I was impressed. However, their weekly "mowing" of our property was a joke. Some weeks they would show up and some weeks they wouldn't. Yet they still charged us for the weeks they were a "no-show." And when they did manage to show up, they would spend 15-20 minutes mowing the lawn. That included the front and back yard both. It takes at least a half an hour to mow the front yard and 45-60 minutes to do the backyard. They wouldn't even move the benches in the front yard so they could mow under and behind them. They mowed around them. I would go out and look at the lawn and ask myself "Do they even have a blade on their mowers?" because the grass looked as if it hadn't been touched. They didn't mow along the fence on both sides of my yard and did no weed-whacking at all. I wound up having to mow the lawn myself after they supposedly did. My daughter contacted them about this and was told they would check it out. They never did. We cancelled the contract with them but still had to pay for another two weeks because they require a two-week notice. read more

Hired for a spring cleanup and was quoted $300.00 for mowing, dethatching and fertilization. They never dethatched the rear lawn at all, and there was no fertilizer placed whatsoever. They removed 3 bags of clippings confirmed via our ring security cameras, but our bill stated 31 bags were removed at $155.00. Called informing them it must be a typo and that they never even did a complete dethatch or fertilize as promised, and they called back insisting they did and confirming the number was correct. We now owe $455.00 for basically one lawn mowing front and rear and three bags of clippings removed. All the grass from my entire lawn wouldn't take up 31 lawn bags. Absolute trash lying rip-off company. Will never hire again. read more

We hired Nordic Lawns to do a spring cleanup on our yard. The service was supposed to include thatching of the yard. They thatched the front yard but not the back yard which needed it the most. We have security cameras so I looked to see if they even brought the thatching machine to the back yard. They did not. After they left I went out to the back yard and there were still lots of dead leaves from last fall. My husband had to finish cleaning up the leaves. We paid $330 dollars and feel we did not get the service promised. read more

I thought I'd try Nordic Lawns for plowing services this winter. The first time it snowed significantly, they plowed the driveway across the street instead of mine. I ended up shoveling my driveway that night and it did snow a bit more, but not enough to warrant plowing by the next morning. They did plow my driveway the next morning when it wasn't needed and after I told them they never plowed MY driveway. I cancelled my services with them since they couldn't seem to get it right. I've now received an invoice for plowing telling me I'm past due (I never received a first invoice). The invoice is for $55. Really? You plowed my driveway ONCE, when it didn't need it. read more

This has to be the worst lawn maintenance company in town. They do not take credit card payments. Don't send out accurate statements. Make you pay to have your lawn mowed in October when it is not growing anymore up on hillside. There are too many complaints to list. I would never recommend this company to anyone read more
