Cute and trendy sandwich shop which has the novelty of not being a Subway or one of those horrible multi-national fast food places! The smell from this place is always very strong, drifting right into the street: fresh bread and juicy fillings. A great choice of filling availble, hearty sandwich meals at a good price. Nora Batty's catered for our wedding last year. The staff were so friendly and helpful we couldn't believe it! The food was gorgeous and they even arrived a little earlier than expected to set up. Named (by the locals) after the old proprietor, Nora a proper Welsh woman, so diminutive in stature (but not in character) that she had to use a standing stool to pull the pints this is a pub that'll make you feel like you're drinking in someone's front room. Only the pool table and jukebox are a giveaway. Occasionally a band or two will play, but usually you'll just find a few locals. I was seriously disappointed with these guys. I asked them to cater for a wedding celebration and ordered bacon sandwiches, with salad on the side, and jacket potatoes with a choice of fillings. The food was okay but arrived with the salad seperate and the jacet potaoes still whole, again with the fillings in seperate bowls, because the chef/cook decided in his wisdom that it'd be better that way!? So, in the middle of the reception we had to start putting fillings into potatoes and the salad just went on the table. The whole point was to make life easier, with everything just ready to serve up. Apart from anytrhing else we hadn't the room to start doing all this and everyone had to wait for their food.
