I decided to give them a try, and I'm so glad I did! The bridal hair/makeup price includes a trial at your location. It was nice to be able to meet the stylists ahead of time. They both listened to what I want and executed perfectly. On the day of my wedding, both the makeup artist and hair stylist arrived right on time. They were super nice and accommodating. Six of my bridesmaids and my mom had makeup done, and 5 had hair. All of them had slightly different ideas of what they wanted, and all of my girls were happy with the results! My mom can be picky about her hair and makeup and she was also super happy with everything. Everyone also though the price was great. Most importantly, I loved my hair and makeup! My husband and I both prefer me to look natural, and FACELABS did an amazing job of just making me look like a more polished version of myself and not like an overly-madeup bride. My hair was also perfect, and both my hair and makeup lasted until I finally called it a night a 2 am. I cannot recommend FACELABS highly enough.

I made an appointment with a…read morespecific stylist, Ashley (I tried her the weekend prior for the exact purpose to ensure the results would be as expected, and good for the upcoming important special event the next weekend). However, the GM, Vivian, later switched the appointment without informing us or providing any warning at all. She essentially downgraded us to a "new talent" stylist. It resulted in poor results, my daughter in tears because of it, and a 45 min visit turned into over a 2 hour visit. The GM never bothered to take two minutes to reach out and inform me of this change she had made. VERY poor business practice. Will warn everyone to avoid this place. There are way too many other salon options in the valley for a customer to be placed in this type of position especially on an important event day. Also, the stylist they blindly switched us to could be booked earlier that week for a fraction at the cost, but we were still charged the FULL price of the established stylist. Just adds to how they operate here. Bottom line: The GM's actions directly resulted in ruining the day and leaving a very poor lasting impression.

I've never received as many compliments as I have since I started seeing Kristy - well over a year…read moreago. I will never change and I will ALWAYS book in advance. First off, when I moved here from the midwest my hair underwent disaster after disaster as I tried to save a couple bucks and go to Chain-Hair salons. I finally saw this place with excellent reviews and decided that if Kristy could see me - I would give it a shot. I never imagined that I would recommend her services to all my friends and even the people I meet out and about. What's so great about the Shear Shack. Well Kristy for one, but as you've seen on other reviews, Chelsea now for reason number 2. They often overlap with each other so I feel confident in Chelsea's abilities/training and customer service since Kristy is there teaching her how she runs the Shack. So reason number 3 is all the compliments I get on my hair. Which translates into expertise and skill. These compliments range from the color (usually something in the reds but her crafty color skills are dazzling), the healthy shine, the bounce and volume, the realistic look...I could just keep going. Kristy takes the time to consider more than just what a client wants, but what is realistic. She discusses the pros and cons, and helps guide the client through the process. Kristy will advise the client on how to achieve the end result and maintain the integrity of the hair. #4 Cost - SUPER REASONABLE. You get what you pay for. So if you want a $15 haircut - your hair will probably look like you got a $15 hair cut. Kristy's prices sometimes surprise me in how reasonable they are. I like to touch up my roots (again, red is not the easiest color to maintain when your hair grows super fast) every three-four weeks. This would cost me a fortune at other salons, but Kristy keeps it super reasonable. In fact, her prices were one of the reasons I chose her. I've had whole color applications, high lights, low lights, cuts, styles, and loved what I paid every time. #5 Time and Respect. I've never waited more than ~10 minutes before for an appointment. Kristy books responsibly and holds her appointments. She is always there when she says she is. I know I can count on her keeping to our time so I don't miss a hot date later that night. Once, I even missed my appointment and she called and was able to reschedule me. I loved that she understood I had forgotten (one and time - I'm a woman of my word too) but still really needed my hair fixed up. Other stylists don't bother calling you but I love the text reminders/email reminders I get. I love that I can book online too. From my experience - she is great with kid cuts, weekly hair maintenance, men's cuts, women's everything. I could just keep going on and on but will let you find out for yourself!

While I don't usually take the time to write a review, I am so thankful for Ann and her expertise…read more She is so knowledgeable as a master stylist and took the time to not only fix my botched hair but also explain what actually works for my particular hair type. When I told her what happened she immediately educated me on what should have happened and what was not right. I thought instantly why would a professIonal in their field not know or explain all this to me like Ann did. I had a terrible experience at my previous salon. I hope you can understand after I tell you my story what Ann was working with when I walked in. I have natural strawberry blonde hair. When I asked for a balayage my stylist toned my "red" roots (four times in one sitting because my red wouldn't take to the brown toner) and toned my "barely blonde" ends. I let it go not knowing that a toner doesnt last but only maybe a week after. Hence my natural color would be back and my nearly $300 was instantly wasted. I then had my extensions put in that matched my strawberry blonde hair. I had asked them to cut my hair to remove the dead ends before they put my extensions in and they told me that they'd do it when they put my extensions in because they'll have to blend it. Not thinking about it I should have know that that was a huge mistake. They cut my natural hair with them in! You are basically cutting hair blind when extensions are already in. I have very fine hair and the extensions they put in were very heavy to a point where just sitting in the car and driving my neck was hurting. I thought this was normal. I had to go back to the salon several times after they were put in and after move ups because the string kept slipping. I was holding my hair in with a Bobby pin most days. You could also tell I had extensions in because they never put enough rows in to blend my top layers even after I asked in several appointments to blend them. They always said they didn't want to loose the length so they trimmed them and that's all. My hair was a hot mess and I was so embarrassed that I didnt immediately question anything. I don't do hair and honestly wouldnt think to question someone who does this for a living. Ann explained that well basically the extensions they put in were like wearing carpet on my head and the type of hair was to thick for my fine hair. There was no cutting my hair after taking the carpet out but only to order new extensions and allow my hair to grow back. I was almost in tears when she took the carpet out. Ann also safely colored my hair in two sessions and put in extensions that matched and actually look and feel like my natural hair. If I never went to Ann I would have definetly just thought this was the norm but I'm so glad I did. Ann is an honorable woman who really cares about your needs and wants. She didnt have to spend all the countless hours educating me on what works for me but she did. She did a complete 360 fixing my hot mess and continued to follow up with me after making sure everything was holding up. She knows her stuff and I would recommend her to anyone!
