To give some honest feedback and hopefully help a future client-- While I really liked that this location offers training opportunities for stylists in development, my recent appointment involving trainees had been challenging. There were 3 trainees involved the first did my hair wash and she absolutely killed it. Her scalp massage was on point and she was so friendly. Her name was Esmeralda I believe. As for the other two trainees, the manager or trainer had them do one side of my hair each. They both were super nervous and I can understand why but so was the girl who washed my hair and I am thinking they are a little bit intimidated by their manager? I will say the manager did seem like she wanted to be doing something other than training them. Anyway... Each time, they used the curling brushing, it caused noticeable pain, as though multiple strands of hair were being pulled out with every pass of the brush. This occurred consistently and left my head feeling so uncomfortable. I shed hair and I told the trainer and trainees this before they started in order to hopefully get them to know I don't want to lose more hair than I already do. I understand that trainees are still learning and that not every issue is their fault, but it might be worth reviewing the brushing techniques or adding more hands-on guidance during training to prevent this level of discomfort. The end result was fine but I wish there was a little more volume. The manager did give this one to me for free just because I was the only one who signed up for the new stylists promo but I would have had a real issue if I did end up getting charged for this. As a result, I'll probably only return if I can book directly with an experienced stylist. That said, I enjoy the salon atmosphere and services overall. read more

Feeling down after a recent surgery, I decided to make an appointment at Primp and Blow for a bit of a pick-me-up. The salon itself is very elegant, beautifully decorated and equipped with things like ceiling-hung blow dryers. I immediately felt relaxed and pampered. I asked for a shampoo & blow dry, with an add-on service of a head massage. Let me tell you, that head massage is the Ultimate, with soft spa music playing in the background. This salon is on the pricy side but well worth it for a special "Me" treat. Note: they also offer wedding/prom 'dos, makeup sessions and more. Love the vibe-clean, friendly, so many drink options, but most importantly my hair looks and smells great when I walk out of this salon after every service. I usually go traditional blowout with Lilith ( but the other gals have all been great too), and I had my hair and makeup done for my son's wedding as well last month. It was picture perfect. And one other thing-I also had the pleasure of listening to another stylist totally talk a bride-to-be off the ledge who was worried about her hair (which was nice to see/hear as I was about to depart to my daughter-in-law to be to see how she was doing)! I had an appointment with Lily and I was not happy with my service at all. I asked to have waves in my hair. I told her that they needed to last until Monday and that I did not want my hair crunchy. She's eager, professional, and so knowledgeable on the brand and especially the Oribe products. Above all she is so kind, easy to talk to, and ask recommendations and she listens to what I want for my hair. I still had 25 minutes left of the appointment and asked her to smooth over hairs when she was done since it wasn't done as well as usual. She didnt care to touch it up. Its hard to write this review for me because I've been going to this specific location for about six months. I thought I had established a relationship with Lily who has been doing my hair for 6 months. I made an appointment a week before Christmas Eve and always put in the notes. Lily only please. My appointment was scheduled for 11 o'clock on Christmas Eve. The day before I received a phone call from them asking me to come in 20 minutes early this would be 10:40. I said no problem see you at 10:40. I get to my appointment on Christmas Eve at about 1035. I sit and I wait and I wait and I wait finally at 11 o'clock One of their other stylist come up to me. I believe her name was Allie, I'm not positive and said hi I will be doing your hair today! I said no I don't think so. I always have Lily and she said well Lily has a full schedule today so I don't know what happened. I said I don't know what to tell you because I schedule with Lily every single time I come, she then walks away. She goes behind the register chitchatting with the girls upfront the whole time. I'm sitting there wondering where Lily is? finally at 11 o'clock sharp Lily walks out, walks to the counter and says something to the girls and then proceeded to walk to her space turn and ask her client to be seated. That client was not me it was someone else. I had just driven 45 minutes to my appointment sat for 25 minutes before I found out that she would not be doing my hair that day but what was even worse is that Lily did not even acknowledge myself the inconvenience the embarrassment the rudeness of what had just happened when here I thought we had a great relationship she just treated me as if I had done something wrong. I left angry, disgusted and actually hurt. Unfortunately, my husband just purchased gift cards for me that I feel like I could never use at this location. I can never go back to this location. I'm extremely frustrated, annoyed and I will be placing a phone call to the manager there because I feel she needs to know what took place on that day. This whole experience could've turned out so differently if Lily had just walked out and admitted that something had gone wrong. Somebody overbooked her and offered my hair to be done by someone else. I probably would've been bummed but at the same time what I said OK, no problem but instead, I was treated like I was the person that did something wrong was ignored. My feelings were ignored. My time was ignored. My distance was ignored and everyone made me feel stupid for feeling that way. I hope that anyone that goes there has a much better experience than I did on Christmas Eve. read more

The first person that I saw didn't listen at all. I told her I didn't want product and she loaded my head up my hair is so crunchy. I said I wanted loose beach waves and she pulled out a 1" curling iron and gave me curly qs. Lily saw I was unhappy and immediately offered to fix it she did a great job and was very kind about it all. My hair is still super crunchy and irritating but at least it looks nice now. 5/5 for lily but this place needs to look at their other stylists. read more

I was happy to hear they opened close to my home instead of having to drive to Scottsdale but was disappointed in my service . My girl looked like she just got out of bed , bad ratty hair/ skin and no personality just bad customer service .. owning a business myself I guess I expect a better employee....I had a mediocre blow out and honestly I could of saved my money and done better myself ... But I will try again with a different girl since the location is convenient. Ashley needs to up her game . I hate to leave a low review but people need to know . Today, I had a standard blowout service. I asked for the happy hour pricing ($15 off) which has been advertised and was told it was no longer available. The email communication I received did not state an expiration date. I was told this "Summer" special ended on August 30. It's still Summer as Autumn does not begin until Sept 22nd. I asked if an exception could be made given the email and lack of expiration date. The receptionist asked and just repeated that it ended. The manager didn't even have the courtesy to come out and talk to me. He/she just had her receptionist repeat "sorry, this ended August 30. I was very disappointed with the complete lack of customer service. They should have honored the pricing. I have supported this location several times but it will probably be my last. read more

I will be doing your hair today, I said no I have an appointment with Lily. I always have an appointment with Lily Allie says well I don't know what happened but Lily is completely booked. Well, I don't know what to tell ya because she's the only one that does my hair and I scheduled with her I'll continue to wait. She walked away. They were all standing behind the desk, whispering back-and-forth I never saw Lily until 11 o'clock, she comes out she walks to the desk she whispers something to the girls and then walks over and calls a completely different client rather then me! As I'm sitting there Im shocked that she never once approached me to explain what happened all this could've been prevented had she walked out of the back, walked over and said hey I don't know what happened someone screwed up I'm overbooked. Would you mind if this person did your hair I would've been bummed but said OK . None of that happened she acted as if I was not even there completely ignored me never acknowledged that there was an issue and just called up a different client so of course I jumped up, canceled my appointment and walked out very angry! Now, unfortunately, this is the closest location for me and now I feel like I can never go back my husband spent quite a bit of money at this location. I just received a bunch of Christmas gift cards for this location. Using them at different locations, unfortunately but I will never go back. now I did call back and ask for the managers name and did get some sarcasm on the other side of the phone. but I will be reaching back out to have a chat with the manager because I feel she needs to know what happened. read more

This is my first time using Yelp. I'm honestly a Goggle review girl but I saw the UR code at my favorite blow out bar and decided to download the app. I just had my hair done. I actually come here 2-3 times per week. I never ask for a specific girl as they are all really quite amazing. Ashley happened to do my hair tonight. She's simply adorable. I was reading some of the the comments and I have to say ladies- let's check ourselves with reality and set proper expectations prior to walking in. These girls have a blow dryer and a round brush. They do amazing things, but they are not miracle workers. If you are blessed enough to be able to come in and get blowouts...know that you are a privileged human. Let's help build each other up and not bash a stylist for not meeting your unrealistic expectations! read more
